Character Bio - Created by a freak accident, an ordinary enemy spy had been transformed into the all-powerful Abomination; and, because he received a heavier dose of radiation than Bruce Banner himself, the monster had the strength to actually defeat the Incredible Hulk in a stand-up fight. Re: The C3G Book of Abomination - Design

NAME = ABOMINATION
SECRET IDENTITY = EMIL BLONSKY

SPECIES = GAMMA MUTATE
UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO
CLASS = CREATURE
PERSONALITY = FEROCIOUS

SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 6

LIFE = 7

MOVE = 5
RANGE = 1
ATTACK = 7
DEFENSE = 6

POINTS = 360

SLITHER
Abomination does not have to stop his movement when entering water spaces.

SUPER THROW 8
After attacking, you may choose an adjacent figure that is not huge. Roll the 20-sided die, subtracting 4 from the roll if the chosen figure has the Super Strength special power. If you roll 8 or higher, throw the figure by placing it on any empty space within 4 spaces of Abomination. After the figure is placed, roll one unblockable attack die for throwing damage. If the figure is thrown onto a level higher than the height of Abomination or onto water, do not roll for throwing damage. The thrown figure will not take any leaving engagement attacks.

SUPER LEAP 50
Instead of his normal move, Abomination may move up to 10 spaces with Super Leap. When moving with Super Leap, Abomination has the Flying special power, but may not move up or down more than 50 levels in a single leap. Abomination rolls 3 fewer attack dice on any turn that he chooses to Super Leap.

SUPER STRENGTH

Seems right to me.

SirG is just gonna love this: "choose one non-Huge figure" :lol:

Seriously Tickle?!?

WATER STRENGTH
Abomination does not stop his movement when entering water spaces. Add 1 die to Abomination's attack and defense while he is on a water space.

SUPER THROW 8
After moving and before attacking, choose an one non-Huge figure adjacent figure to Abomination that is not Huge. Roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 8 or higher, you may throw the figure by placing it on any empty space within 4 spaces of Abomination. After the figure is placed, roll one unblockable attack die for throwing damage. Re: The C3G Book of Abomination - Design

I think he probably went with my wording there. :p :oops:

Re: The C3G Book of Abomination - Design

Ah, good. I'm still the golden boy, then. :-D

Re: The C3G Book of Abomination - Design

So we are cool with him throwing event heroes that aren't huge?

Just asking to be sure it's considered.

ATTACK = 8

SUPER THROW 8

If you roll 8 or higher, you may throw the figure by placing it on any empty space within 4 spaces of Abomination. After the figure is placed, roll one unblockable attack die for throwing damage. If the figure is thrown onto a level higher than the height of Abomination or onto water, do not roll for throwing damage. The thrown figure does not take any leaving engagement attacks.

Because this is a before attacking power, and because you are gonna want to get Abomination's attack of 8 in (which is a much better option in comparison), I think this power should trigger after attacking. Otherwise, you will just throw people but they won't typically be moved anywhere other than still adjacent to Abomb or not at all. With a big guy like this, I want to see figures get thrown around for real (actual distance), but if it means not being able to attack, I am always gonna throw them adjacent to Abomb, which is just less exciting. Also, he would counter Hulk a bit better too with the ability to attack first then throw away. If it is too good of a counter, we can up the roll, or we can subtract from the roll if the chosen figure has Super Strength.

Re: The C3G Book of Abomination - Design

Sounds like a good suggestion. I'll update the SP with the suggested change.

I'm good with it. Magneto and Jean Grey can do it.

Re: The C3G Book of Abomination - Design

Can I ask where the basis for Water Strength came from? I saw that and didn't think it was a power that fits him, so I checked my three favorite sources to double check myself. Only one, Wikipedia - the least reliable, listed that he could breath underwater. All of them said that his strength was unable to be boosted as Hulk's does when he gets angry. they all emphasized that his strength level is a set thing. :2cents:

Re: The C3G Book of Abomination - Design

Marvel.com
The Abomination is resistant to extremes of temperature, and can hold his breath for extended periods of time

Wikipedia
He also possesses gills, enabling underwater breathing; and, he can enter a state of suspended animation when bereft of oxygen for long periods.

Holding his breath doesn't make him stronger or let him breath underwater.

Again, I said they were the least reliable. If something incorrect is going to show up, its here.

Re: The C3G Book of Abomination - Design

Being able to breath underwater while others cannot is a strength. I wouldn't want to fight an Alligator, but if I had to, I would prefer to not do it in the water. ;)

Re: The C3G Book of Abomination - Design

Well, I think Slither makes sense, because he doesn't really suffer any negative effect, but truthfully those sites compare his ability to hold his breath to Hulk's and he doesn't have either ability.

Re: The C3G Book of Abomination - Design

He's a giant reptilian beast, are you sure that's not thematic?

Re: The C3G Book of Abomination - Design

I think that Water Strength as a power is about effectiveness in water rather than water actually physically enhancing your raw power. Having extra attack and defense in water is all about water based maneuverability leading to your moments in water being less predictable and more agile.

Re: The C3G Book of Abomination - Design

Lots of heroes/villains can hold their breath a long time (I've seen Wonder Man held at the bottom of a pool for 2 days by Graviton's power), but holding their breath, alone shouldn't grant them Water Strength.
