_________________________________________________________________
Character Bio - "She was originally created by the Amazon sorceress Magala as a magical duplicate of the young Princess Diana of Themyscira (a nod to the original Wonder Girl) to be a playmate for Diana, who was previously the only child on the island. However, Donna was soon kidnapped by the Dark Angel (a World War II villainess and sworn enemy of Queen Hippolyta, Diana's mother), who thought the girl was Diana. Dark Angel cursed Donna to live endless variants of a life characterized by suffering, with her life being restarted and erased from the world's memory when Donna was at her lowest. Even Donna would forget her past lives until the moment at which Dark Angel would arrive to restart her life, at which point she would immediately recall all of her past suffering [...] Realizing that Donna was created from a portion of Diana's soul, Queen Hippolyta accepted Donna as a blood-related daughter and held a coronation on Themyscira to formally introduce Donna as the second princess of Paradise Island [...] After her coronation, Donna and Diana's bond as sisters grew stronger [...] Donna's superhuman powers have changed several times over the years, but in all of her various incarnations, they have always consisted of considerable superhuman strength, endurance, speed, and the power of flight [...] She also wielded a lasso of her own, but it apparently had no magical properties like Diana's Lasso of Truth" (wikipedia.org, 2011).

AMAZON LASSO
After moving and before attacking, if Wonder Girl was not engaged prior to moving, you may choose one opponent's non-adjacent small or medium figure within 2 clear sight spaces whose base is no more than 10 levels above Wonder Girl's height or 10 levels below Wonder Girl's base. Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) - Design

Thanks, Griff. Typo fixed. :)

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) - Design

Looks cools Bats. I don't know anything about WW in her younger years, but I like the toned down Lasso and keeping Warrior Engagement, and Amazonian Empathy is cool too. Though if you are using 1 Amazon Warriors card to field 9 Amazon Warriors, wouldn't that be somewhat confusing to some in whether or not it only takes 3 Amazon Warriors to be killed from that card or all 9 need to?

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) - Design

This actually isn't Wonder Woman at all, it is her little sister or an orphan that she saved and empowered (depending on the time of the comic).

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) - Design

Nice design as I said before Bats.

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) - Design

Hmm ... would this tweak be too powerful, you guys think?

AMAZONIAN EMPATHY
When an Amazon squad figure you control or any unique hero you control is destroyed, add 2 to Wonder Girl's Attack Number for the remainder of that round.

The bio covers her most recent Post-Crisis origin (she's had a couple of origins just Post-Crisis, which should give you an idea of how screwed up Donna Troy is as a character).

Sounds good to me. I wouldn't mind having her beefed up more frequently when working with the Warriors of Ashr..... I mean, the Amazonian Warriors. :D

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) - Design

Cool. If it proves to be too much, I'll just lower her normal attack to 3.

Looks good bats.

Told you I didn't know the character in her younger years:p, I also didn't look too hard at the NAME or bio

Sounds clearer for sure and should work. It only lasts for the round and opponent's can try to bypass attacking the Amazon Warriors until the end of the round if possible to avoid this and attack someone else earlier. But still, there is that -1 for the lasso power that when combined with her +2 attack is a swing of 3. So we'll have to see :D

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) - Design

Don't know the character. Design looks good though. Like the recent changes. :)

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) - Design

Cool. Thanks for continuing to chime in guys. :)

I am sure the art team can fix that blemish on her cheek.

C3G INITIAL PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM

NAME OF THE TEST UNIT (WONDER GIRL Donna Troy)

- THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them.
PASS

- MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game.
PASS

- BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding.
PASS

- SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit to powerful or too weak.
PASS

- POWER CHECK/ Consider the test unit and all existing units and all glyphs to compare to and check for any powers that could be over amplified and break the game. Each power must define when it takes place, who or what it affects, and What are the stipulations on the power if there are any.
PASS

- FUN TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play.
PASS (the second army, Wonder Girl, Robin, Aqualad, Wonder Woman, and Amazon Warriors was a ton and a half of fun!)

- FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against.
PASS

- DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting.
PASS

- USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable.
PASS (Amazon Empathy doesn’t come up often, but it’s a nice bonus).

- STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game.
PASS

Heavy Hitter or Mid-Level Hero Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes

- What should be the unit's point value? 130-140
- Give a brief overview. Wonder Girl had some small stumbles on the way, but felt closest to Batgirl, with maybe a slight edge on her.
Spoiler Alert!

Squad Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes

- What should be the unit's point value? 110-120?
- Give a brief overview. This was definitely an uphill battle for Wonder Girl
Map: Custom
Units: Wonder Girl (130) vs. Beat Cops x2 (130)
Spoiler Alert!

_____________________________________________________________

Squad Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes

- What should be the unit's point value? 120
- Give a brief overview. Wonder Girl does better against all melee squads, but Aggravated Assault and being attacked three times each Order Marker still give her pause for concern.
Map: Custom
Units: Wonder Girl (130) vs. Arkham Inmates x2 (120)
Spoiler Alert!

Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes

- What should be the unit's point value? 140
- Give a brief overview. Wonder Girl held her own and Superboy took over about halfway through.
Map: Custom
Units: Wonder Girl (140), Wonder Woman (300), Superboy (240), Speedy (80), Aqualad (60) (820) vs. White Martian x4 (600), Hush (220) (820)
Spoiler Alert!

Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes

- What should be the unit's point value? 140
- Give a brief overview. A very fun, very balanced match. Wonder Girl fit into the army very well, even getting her attack boost twice, but wasn’t dominating.
Map: Custom
Units: Wonder Girl (140), Aqualad (60), Robin (100), Wonder Woman (300), Amazon Warriors x4 (400) (1,000) vs. Hawkman (225), Hawkgirl (225), Atom (50), Hawkmen of Thanagar x5 (500) (1,000)
Spoiler Alert!

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) - Design

I'll probably start (and hopefully finish) this initial tomorrow. Tonight, I send out ERBs!

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) - Design

Thanks, David! She got through the "breathing period" pretty cleanly too ... I actually think I forgot an update on Amazon Empathy to make it trigger just when an individual squad figure is killed (a bit clearer mechanically) that I should update now ... Thanks for the feedback, though, and glad you're enjoying the new release! :)

Cheers,
Bats

Wonder Girl
Lol… still reeling from Wave 8 (I was using the revised index to put together two armies), and I look up and see I’ve got a PM!!! Get some sleep!

Oooo, and I just noticed that she’s a Sidekick!

Amazon Lasso
This is a weaker version of Wonder Woman’s Golden Lasso. The -1 defense is a nice touch. As with Wonder Woman, the knockback rules can prove to be a curse with this unless you can pin the figure against an obstacle or figure. I know with Hawkgirl, I will often opt for the +2 Swoop bonus rather than the double attack because of this. Still, Superhero Scape isn’t as much fun for me without knockback, and the effect it has on abilities such as this only adds to the fun factor.

Warrior Engagement
And this is from Wonder Woman, which pairs very well with Amazon Lasso.

Amazonian Empathy
Nice.

Final Thoughts
Perhaps it’s because I’m giddy from the new wave, or maybe it’s because it’s late (I am opting to stay up to see this ERB through instead of just rushing it). But I don’t really see any complications or issues. I also think it’s a nice echo of Wonder Woman with the Lasso/Warrior Engagement.

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) - Design

She's a ton of fun. Feels just right at 140. 24 hours on the clock! :)
