Character Bio - Cassandra Sandsmark started her heroic career as a timid girl living in the shadow of both Wonder Woman and Donna Troy. Idolizing Donna to the point of wearing a black wig (which also helped keep her identity secret) she helped to fight crime on her own for a short while. She eventually ran into the newly formed team Young Justice, and having a crush on Superboy, offered to join. She fit in great, becoming best friends with Arrowette, Secret, and Empress. Her time with Young Justice helped her to gain confidence, and she eventually shed her wig and embraced her role as the new Wonder Girl.
Robin, due to trust issues from not revealing his identity, and also knowledge of Batman’s secret files on the Justice league are leaked, decided to resign from the team for a time. Even though Robin returns, the team didn’t accept him as the leader again, instead they decided to hold elections. Wonder Girl beats out Robin, Superboy, and Ray, and is fully backed by Robin (who is still a vital advisor). Wonder Girl soon after lead a successful attack on the supervillain country of Zandia, organizing not only Young Justice, but dozens of other teen heroes in the battle.
She proved a capable leader, but after a tragic teamup with the Teen Titans ending with Troia’s death, she disbanded the team. Eventually she joined a new Teen Titans and has been a vital member ever since.

PERSONALITY = AMBITIOUS

SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5

YOUNG JUSTICE ATTACK PLAN
As long as none of your other Army Cards have more than one Order Marker on them, the first time each Titan or Sidekick figure you control attacks an adjacent figure on your turn, you may roll one additional attack die.

HIT ANYTHING THAT’S MOVING!
After each space an enemy figure moves, roll the 20-sided die once for each Sidekick or Titan you control adjacent to that figure that you have not previously rolled for this turn. Add 6 to the roll if there is an Order Marker on this card. If you roll 18 or higher, that enemy figure receives a wound from that Sidekick or Titan.

COUNTER STRIKE
When rolling defense dice against a normal attack from an adjacent attacking figure, all excess shields count as unblockable hits on the attacking figure.

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (Cassandra Sandsmark) (II)

Interesting. I think she'll pair very well with Starfire, who already gets +1 attack from being engaged and is a natural multi-attacker. More passive powers on the Titans army pile is always a bit concerning, even if this one does have the OM restriction.

Is there a specific reference in the second power name? Doesn't QUITE read to me as offensive, more like a "keep up the pressure" type power, but it's fine if that's a good quote for her.

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (Cassandra Sandsmark) (II)

Looking good!

Counter Strike is two words. I'd use a different name for Young Justice Attack Plan, as two similarly named powers (Attack Plan from Red Robin and Secret Attack Plan from Oracle) work differently. Maybe something like Young Justice Attack Strategy.

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (Cassandra Sandsmark) (II)

Yeah I always try to use a comic reference for stuff like that.

That said, I'm not totally in love with it. I scanned the book for battle cries and that's the best she had. I think it fits the mechanic pretty well though (Since you, you know, hit things that move)

For Starfire, we talked about limiting the attack boost to once per turn (Like Robin's defense deduction is). Perfectly fine by me.

If she's too good with the classic Titans, I want to make changes. WG and Robin are meant to be Nightwing replacements, and that also partially means discouraging the Raven, Superboy pod as well. WG has them spread out rather than clump, with Robin providing the multi-turns, so even if we need lots of changes here, I think we're on the right track.

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (Cassandra Sandsmark) (II)

Her Order Marker placement is anti-Nightwing and her having you space Titans out is anti-Raven. I think that's probably enough to make her less ideal with the classic Titans than with Robin and some others. Starfire will still like her, but Starfire isn't that bad if you break up the Nightwing/Raven/Starfire/Superboy grouping.

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (Cassandra Sandsmark) (II)

Updated wording so the boost is just once per figure turn (So Starfire isn't her absolute best friend). Cleaned up a little wording. I'm fine changing the Attack Plan name if we want!

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (II) ~ Vote for Initial

Maybe YOUNG JUSTICE ATTACK FORMATION? Probably two lines, which isn't ideal, but "formation" seems to sell the theme better.

yea

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (II) ~ Vote for Initial

Yea

Young Justice [XXXX] Formation sounds pretty badass, so I do like that construction!

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (II) ~ Vote for Initial

Young Justice XXXX formation sounds like something totally different Johnny. :puke:

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (II) ~ Initial Testing

@LordVenoc

Any thoughts on armies here? Obviously going to pair with Robin, and other melee beatsticks like Changeling. Want to try at least one with Superboy, Raven, and Starfire just to see if they don't work well together like that. But that'll probably be my last game I run so I get a feel beforehand.

No rush, Still have Charlene to finish and gotta wait for public testing until Pigeon is done anyways!

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (II) ~ Initial Testing

Immediate thought is pairing her and Robin with Captain Marvel Jr. He hits hard, will bond, and is pretty dang mobile. I'll think some more on this and get back with you (because if I dont post this now, I will forget).

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (II) ~ Initial Testing

Oh cool, that's a good idea. I haven't played him yet.

Also cool since there was a few issues where the main heroes were indisposed and they had a replacement YJ team, and Freddy was on it. :)

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (II) ~ Initial Testing

I don't think there's a very clean way to exploit the Attack Plan power with Titans, Go right now, but something to watch if/when you have Titans that move Order Markers.

Wonder Girl (Donna), Static, Miss Martian, Arsenal, and Aqualad (Kaldur) all seem like good pairings for if you want to spread out and engage as many people as possible. You've got figure movement, mobility, and group movement in there, as well as Arsenal's ability to stay back from the fray and add in extra attacks without ruining things for anyone.

Robin (Tim) is a great pairing as well, of course, because you get the double turn while keeping Order Markers spread.

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (II) ~ Initial Testing

Unrelated to this thread, but the writeups I have for the Lobos have some OM movements. How would that work with Nightwing? NW needs 2 OMS to use Titans Go, and if you move them off of him it wouldn't trigger? Am I missing something.

Arsenal is obviously good. Once the whole team is done I assume Arrowette will take his place as a cheap ranged support. (Though I'm not worried about the actual comic team being the most optimal build)

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (II) ~ Initial Testing

OK, this is how I could see it playing out.

OM1 on Starfire
OM2 on Titan who can move Order Markers
OM3 on Wonder Girl, let's say
X on Nightwing

Starfire goes, with the attack bonus
Titan who can move Order Markers moves OM3 and X onto Nightwing, then attacks without the bonus
Nightwing uses Titans Go without the bonus

So you'd be cheesing it for only one attacker, really, but it's at least more than intended.

And I might be missing further exploits. It really depends on how the OM movement power is set up.

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (II) ~ Initial Testing

Good, good notes! Not sure it's worth the cost of Wonder Girl to do that, but I'll definitely take it into consideration.

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (II) ~ Initial Testing

The once per figure turn part definitely helps and makes the Tim Drake combo probably the better one. Arsenal also gets cut out of the bonus since he isn’t taking a turn.

Aqualad (Garth) is another decent pairing since he can turn bond with Sidekicks to let you double up on the attack bonus.

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (II) ~ Initial Testing

Hmm something that got lost in the wording changes is that only figures with OMs were intended to get the bonus, to not make Robin and Garth too powerful. Maybe it's not an issue, but something easily adjusted if needed.

Re: The Book of Wonder Girl (II) ~ Initial Testing

Well it definitely pushes her towards Robin builds, which is, good, I think?
