The figure used for this unit is a D&D Miniatures figure. The figure name is : Verdant Reaver from the Night Below set.


Biography : The Wildwood Sentinels of the Awakened Forest are a curious group. Slow, for sure, but solid and dangerous up close. And if their Monarch is cut down, watch for one of them to contort its living body, growing in size and sprouting forth green tendrils. For the forest must live on, and so one of these woodland guardians must become the Monarch.

ASCEND 4
Instead of moving normally, this Wildwood Sentinel may move one space. That space may be up to 4 levels higher.

BRANCH OF THE AWAKENED FOREST
After taking a turn with this Wildwood Sentinel, you may take a turn with a small Wildwood Hero you control.

VERDANT GROWTH
At the start of each round, before you place Order Markers, if you have not placed this Wildwood Sentinel or used a Verdant Growth power this round, you may destroy this Wildwood Sentinel and replace it with one of your previously destroyed large Wildwood Heroes. Remove all wound markers from that Hero's Army Card, then place wound markers on it equal to the number of wound markers on this card.

- Rulings and Clarifications -
  • Wildwoods Growth : Vigorous, Verdant, Seedling...
    QUESTION - How does the Wildwood life cycle work?
    ANSWER -     At the start of each round, you can, in any order:
    • Upgrade a Runner to a Sentinel
    • Upgrade a Sentinel into the Monarch
    • Place a Runner adjacent to the Monarch
    You cannot upgrade a figure you just placed, nor can you place a Runner if you just placed the Monarch. So, for example, you cannot upgrade a Runner into a Sentinel and then immediately upgrade it into the Monarch. Nor can you upgrade a Sentinel into the Monarch and then immediately place a Runner next to it.
    Any unit placed must come from your reserves. You may upgrade a Runner into a Sentinel, which puts that Runner into your reserves, then place that Runner from your reserves adjacent to the Monarch.

  • Awakened Forest : Synergies inside synergies..?
    QUESTION - After taking a turn with the Wildwood Monarch, you can take a turn with Wildwood Sentinel using Trunk of the Awakened Forest.
    After the Sentinel turn, could you then use Branch of the Awakened Forest to take a turn with a Wildwood Runner?
    ANSWER -     Yes !

  • CONCAN THE KYRIE WARRIOR : Knight and Sentinel Enhancement
    As Sentinel, the Wildwood Sentinel may benefit from Concan the Kyrie Warrior’s KNIGHT AND SENTINEL ENHANCEMENT attack and defense bonus.

Does this figure need to be rebased to the Large D&D base? or can it work on the base it comes with?

The base it comes with is a little too big. It is recommended to rebase it. You could however just cut the base it comes with down to the size of a Heroscape hex tile. Whichever is more convenient for you. Just be careful not to cut yourself.
 
It can fit on a regular Heroscape base with some toe-verhang. Large D&D base is a good fit.
