The scissory application didn't really pay off against the Turtles, looks like, but they don't strike me as the most vulnerable to those shenanigans, so I don't want to be too quick to beef him up. Data point to keep in mind, though.

Looks like he didn't really go after Leo (who really would be the target by denying Turtle Power).

But regardless, losing that game is actually very concerning. Because Venom's team had 100 points extra over the turtles. Turtles plus Splinter is 930. Not 1030.

I'm not concerned, though. Like I get what he was going for with the Fate/Venom build, but it doesn't look super impressive to me and it sounds like he had some rough luck with it on top of that. (Emma dropping fast and Sinister not hitting his d20 rolls)

My takeaway was more that the wheels just fell off the wagon, not that there was something to be worried about on Venom's end.

I've been starting to add point totals each time I get tests in now.

But yeah definitely doesn't feel like the best build for Venom.

Yeah I don't think my brain was thinking too much about individual pieces yet at that point. Turtles are probably one of the least susceptible to scissors we have due to the spread and all in nature of them. Armies in his first game seemed fairly comparable, but definitely a discrepancy in synergy and efficiency on the second pair. Still not a bad start as a tester!

Depending on how fast this moves, I may try and run a quick Indigo-1 cart game, as I think she may be the best bet if trying a scissors application here. Can't promise it, but I think it would be good to see it in practice at least once.

Still not a bad start as a tester!

Oh yeah, I still think it's a really solid first effort. The "Fate SZ bombing with Venom" and "Sinister hanging back and trying to boost up Mutants" halves of the army are just a little bit at odds with each other, I think.

Depending on how fast this moves, I may try and run a quick Indigo-1 cart game, as I think she may be the best bet if trying a scissors application here. Can't promise it, but I think it would be good to see it in practice at least once.

I'd be comfortable waiting a bit for that. I'd love to see it, and I'm not in a rush.

General Flow:
R1: Indigo I has to spend all her markers getting forward and protecting the Symbiote and herself, but Venom attaches to Professor X.
R2: Critical initiative goes to Venom's team, allowing him to wipe OMs from Xavier. Wolverine doesn't swipe at Xavier. Xavier immediately loses Venom. Venom eventually reattaches, now going for Wolverine.
R3: Autowounds from Shazam! Kill Blink.
R4: Shazam beats on Xavier, who Wolverine kills.
R5: Venomized Wolverine just barely fails to kill DP before Venom detaches.
R6: DP kills Venom, Wolverine takes out Shazam.

Important Notes: Deadpool was rolling pretty well this whole game, not a lot of weak hits. The early protection was probably a bad call and shouldn't have focused so much on trying to snag Xavier. Will try to go full disrupt, as halfway isn't the best here. Venom really just slowed the game down in a disruption build, definitely better uses for him than just a disrupt throw in.

Unit Summary:
R1 T3: Takes a LEA to attach to Xaver.
R2 T1: Takes over Xavier, immediately booted off.
R2 T3: Attaches to Wolverine
R4 T3: Takes over Wolverine, kills Xavier.
R5 T3: Does 3 damage to Deadpool.

General Flow:
R1: Indigos port in, and lock out both Wolverine and Deadpool, then Venom latches onto Domino, who makes use of the new strength to hurt Munk. 1 Uncommon goes down.
R2: Domino and Indigo-1 take out Professor X. Munk takes 3 from DP.
R3: DP shakes the Indigo marker. Another whiff gets Munk killed. Deadpool goes down to Indigo-1 and her Lantern partner. A big hit from the Uncommon puts 3 wounds on Wolverine.
R4: Venom snatches Wolverine, but Wolverine kills the Indigo generic. Indigo 1 hits Domino after removing her OM. Venom takes control of Wolverine, but the Indigo marker prevents the turn.
R5: Wolverine kills Domino.

Important Notes: Much more interesting play. This is likely the full disrupt build the Symbiote likes. Admittedly, there was a lot of luck involved in keeping Domino as long as I did, but the Indigos can definitely make for a truly vicious scissors partner for the Symbiote. X-Men didn't even kind of have enough time to react and adapt here.

Unit Summary:
R1 T3: Venom attaches to Domino.
R2 T1: Venom takes Domino over, has her deal 2 wounds to Xavier.
R3 T1: Domino puts 2 wounds on Deadpool.
R3 T2: 8 is rolled on losing control, Domino stays.
R3 T3: Venom leaves Domino.
R4 T1: Venom attaches to Wolverine.
R4 T3: Venom seizes Wolverine.
R5 T1*: Marker revealed on Wolverine, allowing a turn which causes roll on Indigo Marker, 6 rolled, that goes, where he now kills Domino.


Who won and how many wounds did they have? Indigo Tribe wins. Indigo-1 unwounded (1 battery left). Wolverine controlled by Symbiote with 1 wound marker on him, Venom symbiote unwounded.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT:
I wouldn't be terribly alarmed. This is intended as a strong matchup for the tribe/symbiote. It looks like a relatively decent sized win, but the D20 could have shifted this at any moment.

Looking over the results, I'm feeling pretty good about where we're at here. Bonding with a friendly is more-so the 'easy mode' for playing it and it can feel worth its cost that way. Some nasty scissors applications, but they're not that easy to pull off.

Open to thoughts on cost before moving forward.

Edits. Not convinced the immediate is needed but I do think it helps the flow of that sentence.

SYMBIOSIS
After taking a turn with Venom, you may place Venom on the card of an adjacent Unique Hero that is not an Android, Construct, or Symbiote and has not previously been Venom's Host. While Venom is on that card, that Hero is considered Venom's Host. Venom's Host has the species of Symbiote and the Super Strength special power in addition to what is listed on its card, and adds 1 to its Move and Attack numbers. Venom will not take leaving engagement attacks when placed with Symbiosis.

ASSERTING CONTROL
