The Book of Superman (Billy Batson)

Re: The Book of Superman (Billy Batson) (Breathing)

THUNDEROUS ARRIVAL
Start the game with Superman on his card instead of the battlefield. When a friendly figure is targeted for an attack, if Superman is on his card, once per game, you may place him adjacent to the attacking figure. You may then roll one unblockable attack die against that figure and that attacking figure's turn immediately ends. After rolling, you may move any of your unrevealed Order Markers to this card.

Thoughts after playing him post con:

The red above I believe is a needed change. Right now the interaction with the Billy Civilian design gets wonky, where he could potentially come back on the board with that Billy out there (gets especially weird and unclear if Billy is negated).

The blue is a bit of a power up, but one that I think is needed. He originally functioned this way, but we shifted it to a 50/50 shot at the turn stop in part because there was worry that he'd feel too swappable with JL Superman I. So the change was made, but we later realized he didn't give out JL markers. It is just kind of a sucky feeling to have the first section of his card basically amount to "oh Billy's here, he's late" half the time when it takes up as much space as it does. I could also see ditching the unblockable and just sticking with a turn end, if that feels like a lighter shift there.

Definitely agree with the red and that won’t affect my play with him at all.

I’ve found him consistently worth his points in practice and the faction around him is building up, so a power up concerns me a bit.

Happy to run some tests and even go up in points if its necessary. Want him to feel fun and useful, not like he has a lot of wasted space up top.

He's got a power that is easily exploited as a detriment (though interacts super weird with Billy and Shazam!-ing, but in a fun way).

He has one that is, while definitely the centerpiece, going to be just 1 unblockable a lot of the time and nasty in the counterdraft cases.

And a third power, that takes up another large portion of the card, and is currently meaningless 50% of the time. So basically wanting to have some consistency with the thing that makes him a bit more interesting here.

Side note, can we cut the line of taking leaving engagement attacks on Heroic Duty? Its extraneous and I thought we were trying to cut that type of thing where we can moving forward.

Sure. I’m not against the change, just want to proceed with caution. Some sanity testing sounds good.

Bumping this. How much Sanity testing would people want to see for this tweak? And probably a question of would we want it done before running any Freddy changes or just wait till Freddy's done (not using SuperBilly there) then test the final change here.

It's obviously a decent power up, but I believe you if you say it's needed.

Really just a reliability boost, which we slightly put there because of the overlap with JL Superman (which later realized was kinda unnecessary). Big thing of the push for it is that having the power that takes up a fair bit of text on the card only work 50% of the time kinda can be a feelbad.

Being a once per game power it is already limited.
Not too concerned but would want to hear from more folks.
I really enjoyed playing this card.

Tough to say with Mary changes and Hoppy already boosting the faction, but I trust you to gauge how much testing is enough.
