SUPER THROW 12
After attacking, you may choose an adjacent figure that is not huge. Roll the 20-sided die, subtracting 4 from the roll if the chosen figure has the Super Strength special power. If you roll 12 or higher, throw the figure by placing it on any empty space within 4 spaces of this Super-Ape. After the figure is placed, roll one unblockable attack die for throwing damage. If the figure is thrown onto a level higher than the height of this Super-Ape or onto water, do not roll for throwing damage. The thrown figure will not take any leaving engagement attacks.
ENHANCED DURABILITY
When this Super-Ape is attacked with a normal attack, the most wounds he can receive from that attack is one.
Yea, I see no reason this guys will have any problems. One reused power with a higher roll and one new but simple power. His cost is the only thing in the air right now IMO.
Super Throw 12
Really cool ability that works well with Abomination, so I'm glad to see it return in another design. Most monkeys fling their poo, but Mikhlo can fling Superman.
Enhanced Durability
Variant of Magical Defense, which I like. Yes, I do often have to wrap my brain on how some abilities interact with Magical Defense, but those tend to be "me issues." I think these types of abilities are worth it.
Final Thoughts
Nice combination of abilities and another Super-Ape for the collection. Looks great!

Heavy Hitter or Mid-Level Hero Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 200 - Give a brief overview. There were a lot of close matches here, but Mikhlo was consistently just a bit better than other 190 pointers.
Spoiler Alert!
TEST 1
Map: Custom
Units: Mikhlo vs. Bane (190) Enhanced Durability made it really tough for Bane to wound Mikhlo, and Mikhlo’s throw accounted for one wound on Bane and some poor positioning for Bane. Bane rolled fairly well on Venom Injection (+2 to his attack every time except +1 once) but it didn’t make a difference here. Who won and how many wounds did they have?Mikhlo wins with 2 wounds, Turn 3, Round 2.
TEST 2
Map: Custom
Units: Mikhlo vs. Bane (190) This was pretty similar. Who won and how many wounds did they have?Mikhlo wins with 1 wound, Turn 2, Round 2.
TEST 3
Map: Custom
Units: Mikhlo vs. Black Canary (190) With her special attack and Fists of Fury, Black Canary is a solid counter to Mikhlo. She went Fists of Fury for four straight attacks to put the first 4 wounds on Mikhlo on Turn 1 of Round 2 and then, after he put her in tough positioning (but failed to get a wound on her) with his throw, she screamed at him for the win. Who won and how many wounds did they have?Black Canary wins with 1 wound, Turn 2, Round 2.
TEST 4
Map: Custom
Units: Mikhlo vs. Black Canary (190) Canary got lucky here, as Mikhlo went 0 for 3 on throw attempts (and on the last one she was in range of molten lava). She started slow, but got in three straight Fist of Fury attacks for Mikhlo’s last three wounds. Who won and how many wounds did they have?Black Canary with 3 wounds wins Turn 3, Round 2.
TEST 5
Map: Custom
Units: Mikhlo vs. Cyclops (190) Cyclops got in three blasts, two with his special attack, but could only muster one wound. Mikhlo failed his only throw attempt, but took Cyclops out with two normal attacks. Who won and how many wounds did they have?Mikhlo wins with 1 wound Turn 2, Round 2.
TEST 6
Map: Custom
Units: Mikhlo vs. Cyclops (190) Cyclops was much more effective at keeping his distance here, managing to put 4 wounds on Mikhlo before Mikhlo ever engaged him. Mikhlo did eventually catch up, though, and punched Cyclops for two wounds, then hit him with throwing damage for a third. Who won and how many wounds did they have?Cyclops wins with 3 wounds, Turn 2, Round 2.
TEST 7
Map: Custom
Units: Mikhlo vs. Hydro-Man (190) Hydro-Man got in a nice 3 wound shot with his Tidal Wave Special Attack near the end to keep it close, but Mikhlo was just tougher here. He hit his throw roll twice and put one wound on Hydro-Man with it. Who won and how many wounds did they have?Mikhlo wins with 3 wounds, Turn 3, Round 2.
TEST 8
Map: Custom
Units: Mikhlo vs. Hydro-Man (190) No successful throws this time, just better dice for Mikhlo. Who won and how many wounds did they have?Mikhlo wins with 3 wounds, Turn 3, Round 2.
TEST 9
Map: Custom
Units: Mikhlo vs. Luke Cage (190) Mikhlo couldn’t hit a throw roll, but he did have the slight defensive edge with all normal attacks here. Luke Cage held concrete the whole match for his Street Fighter attack bonus but it just helped him wound Mikhlo more consistently, not put any more wounds on him with single attacks. Luke’s Impenetrable Skin let him down on Mikhlo’s last attack (3 skulls versus 0 shields) for Luke’s last three wounds. Who won and how many wounds did they have?Mikhlo wins with 3 wounds, Turn 3, Round 2.
TEST 10
Map: Custom
Units: Mikhlo vs. Luke Cage (190) Despite hitting his throw three times, Mikhlo couldn’t land any wounds with it. Luke never whiffed here and had plenty of 6 dice attacks, he just couldn’t quite best Mikhlo. Who won and how many wounds did they have?Mikhlo wins with 3 wounds, Turn 3, Round 3.
Squad Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 190 - Give a brief overview.Range just gave the Beat Cops the advantage on this pretty wide open map with lots of elevation changes.
Map: Custom
Units: Mikhlo vs. Beat Cops x3 (195)
Spoiler Alert!
Cops managed to hold height the whole game thanks to their range and numbers and Mikhlo couldn’t get in a single throw in order to try to kill more than one Cop per turn. A Cop on lava field survived the end of Round 3 and then the Cops won initiative and he took Mikhlo out at the start of Round 4. If not for that series of events, this could have gone the other way. Who won and how many wounds did they have?Beat Cops with 3 left win Turn 1, Round 4.
Squad Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 200 - Give a brief overview. This one felt close until Mikhlo started rolling poorly on his attacks.
Map: Custom
Units: Mikhlo vs. Amazon Warriors x2 (200)
Spoiler Alert!
Mikhlo started off very strong, killing 4 Amazons by the end of Round 2, including one with his throw, then his attack rolls faded in Round 3. Who won and how many wounds did they have?Amazon Warriors with 2 left win Turn 2, Round 3.
Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 200+ - Give a brief overview. In a game where the Gorilla City Warriors fell apart, Mikhlo was the catalyst for a big turnaround.
Map: Custom
Units: Mikhlo (200), Peotor (170), Igor (130), Gorilla City Warriors x2 (250) (750) vs. Captain America (240), War-Machine (270), Falcon (140), Dazzler (100) (750)
Spoiler Alert!
This one went up and down like a roller coaster. Early on, Cap’s punches and War Machine’s Chain Gun tore up the Gorilla City Warriors, preventing them from effectively closing in or ganging up on any of the heroes. Five GCWs had fallen within the first two rounds and the sixth fell in round three. The only upside was that Igor managed to engage War Machine with all of his Shapeshifting markers placed on his card and eventually punched War Machine’s ticket. This left all three Super-Apes at full life versus full life Cap, full life Dazzler, and full life Falcon. Mikhlo earned his value and more here, engaging Cap, putting one wound on Cap with his normal attack, then throwing Cap into molten lava for hot lava death! He followed this (and the loss of Order Markers by the Avengers) up by one-shotting Dazzler with a big gorilla punch. This left Falcon in end game with all three Super Apes still at full life! Falcon was plucky though, and he wore down Igor, only taking one wound in the process. The he took on Igor, still in his densest state, and took him out over the course of two rounds, taking two more wounds to do it. Finally he faced down Peotor who tried to get cute with lava field at the ends of rounds and his Magnetic Toss, but finally just started attacking and snuck in the final wound on Falcon. Who won and how many wounds did they have?Peotor with Full Life wins Turn 2, Round 8.
Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes - What should be the unit's point value? 200 - Give a brief overview.Mikhlo provided some major offense again, putting 2 wounds on Human Torch, 3 wounds on Invisible Woman, and 3 wounds on Thing before falling in Round 4.
Map: Custom
Units: Mikhlo (200), Peotor (170), Igor (130), Gorilla City Warriors x2 (250), Solovar (260) (1,010) vs. Mister Fantastic, Thing, Invisible Woman, Human Torch (1,000)
Spoiler Alert!
Human Torch came out early, but Mikhlo punched him for one wound and then threw him and got a second wound to slow his advance and stop his chance to chain Flame On 4 with Supernova. Human Torch started out with OM1 of Round 2 and went Nova on the Apes, taking out two Gorilla City Warriors and Peotor, and putting 2 wounds on Mikhlo. From there, a Gorilla City Warrior finished off Human Torch and Mikhlo raced after Invisible Woman, combining with another Gorilla City Warrior to finally take her out in Round 3. By then four more Gorilla City Warriors had fallen, leaving only Solovar and the Apes versus Thing and Mister Fantastic. Mikhlo put 3 wounds on Thing with a big attack but ended up falling right after Igor (who took too many wounds early before he was in his densest state) to attacks from Thing and Mister Fantastic. A Rock Wall Defense roll of 4 finished Mikhlo off. This left full life Mister Fantastic and 3 wound Thing versus Solovar who managed to sneak the last three wounds on Thing and put 3 wounds on Mister Fantastic before finally falling (Negotiation saved him from at least a couple of attacks). Who won and how many wounds did they have?Mister Fantastic with 3 wounds wins Turn 1, Round 7.
Cool. I'll probably go with 200 and see how he does in the public's hands since 200 makes the Super-Apes an even 500 points without Red Ghost. If he does well in the public's hands I'll bump him up to 210 points.
