Heavy Hitter or Mid-Level Hero Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes
- What should be the unit's point value? 210-220.
- Give a brief overview. She feels more like 200 before Protective Fury comes into play, but with it I like her at 220 so far.
TEST 1
Map: Custom
Units: Starfire vs. Batman (200)
Batman engaged quickly, so Reckless Engagement came into play here. Starfire got into a one wound hole fast when Batman used Evasive Strike to duck her first attack from range and height. Once in melee, they both gave as good as they got, with Batman winning initiative for Round 2.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Batman with 3 Wounds wins Turn 1, Round 2.
TEST 2
Map: Custom
Units: Starfire vs. Batman (200)
This went down much like the first game, except Starfire used her full range on the first attack (giving up potential height advantage) to avoid Evasive Strike, and wounded Batman early, then in melee Batman failed to hit any Evasive Strike rolls. Batman won initiative in Round 2 again, to get Starfire up to 4 wounds, but Starfire responded by pummeling Batman with a 3 wound attack to end it.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Starfire with 4 Wounds wins Turn 1, Round 2.
TEST 3
Map: Custom
Units: Starfire vs. Killer Croc (200)
Killer Croc traveled through water to get to Starfire faster and once he got her into engagement his superior stats beat out her Reckless Engagement. He didn’t bother with Death Roll here, given her soft 4 defense in melee. Croc also won initiative for Round 2.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Killer Croc with 2 Wounds wins Turn 1, Round 2.
TEST 4
Map: Custom
Units: Starfire vs. Killer Croc (200)
Even with mostly poor attack rolls, Killer Croc’s hide was too thick for Starfire, and he finally found some skulls on offense after winning initiative in Round 3. A 5 skull attack finished Starfire off.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Killer Croc with 1 Wound wins Turn 1, Round 3.
TEST 5
Map: Custom
Units: Starfire vs. Captain America (Hasbro) (220)
Despite facing one 1 skull attack from Starfire in melee, Cap didn’t manage to land any wounds with Counter Strike. His more solid stats eventually prevailed here, though.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Captain America with 3 Wounds wins Turn 1, Round 3.
TEST 6
Map: Custom
Units: Starfire vs. Captain America (Hasbro) (220)
Cap hit Starfire with his shield for 2 wounds to start things out, then she shot back and landed 2 back on him. Then he moved to melee and punched her for one, counter struck her for one, then won initiative for Round 2 and finished her off with another punch.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Captain America with 2 Wounds wins Turn 1, Round 2.
TEST 7
Map: Custom
Units: Starfire (220), Robin (Dick) (100) (320) vs. Supergirl (320)
Robin tried to screen Supergirl early, but Supergirl took the leaving engagement attack (a whiff) and pursued Starfire, putting 4 early wounds on the Titan. Robin attacked from height with no success, then moved to engage Supergirl in a place where she’d have to take two leaving engagement attacks to reposition. Supergirl suffered Daring Decoy and Acrobatic Maneuverability as a result, and Starfire, still recklessly engaged, managed to sneak in 3 wounds on her. Robin whiffed in Round 2, however, to a 3 skull attack, denying Starfire a chance to use Protective Fury. Starfire did survive Supergirl’s attempts to put a final wound on her until Round 4, however. Starfire put all 5 wounds on Supergirl, but Robin was a handy decoy.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Supergirl with 5 Wounds wins Turn 1, Round 4.
TEST 8
Map: Custom
Units: Starfire (220), Robin (Dick) (100) (320) vs. Supergirl (320)
This lined up perfectly for Starfire, as Supergirl punched Robin for exactly 2 wounds early on, and then Robin engaged Supergirl when she was already engaged with Starfire (having given Starfire her one wound). Acrobatic Maneuverability and Daring Decoy worked their magic from there, with Supergirl unable to resist the temptation to try to put the last wound on Robin. Protective Fury, meanwhile, was giving Starfire 3 attacks per turn, which added up to her putting all 7 wounds on Supergirl.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Starfire with 1 Wound and Robin with 2 Wounds win Turn 1, Round 3.
TEST 9
Map: Custom
Units: Starfire (220), Wonder Girl (140) (360) vs. Captain Marvel (360)
Cap healed one wound here by winning initiative for Round 2. Starfire put one wound on him early, and took two himself from Cap’s normal attack. Then Wonder Girl came in and lassoed Captain Marvel down to height disadvantage, but couldn’t wound him with her attack. Then Captain Marvel disengaged from Wonder Girl (who whiffed on the swipe) and finished off Starfire with his normal attack, costing the Titans OM3 for the round. In Round 2, Captain Marvel engaged Wonder Girl before she could lasso him and put 2 quick wounds on her. She followed by putting 2 wounds on him with her normal attack, before he finished her off.
Protective Fury and Amazonian Empathy didn’t come into play here, despite my best efforts to exploit them.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Captain Marvel with 2 Wounds wins Turn 2, Round 2.
TEST 10
Map: Custom
Units: Starfire (220), Wonder Girl (140) (360) vs. Captain Marvel (360)
This really swung on initiative for Round 2. In Round 1, the Titans failed to wound Captain Marvel, but he put 3 wounds on Starfire, then 2 on Wonder Girl after Wonder Girl lassoed him away from Starfire.
In Round 2, the Titans won initiative and Starfire got to use Protective Fury once to hit Captain Marvel with 3 attacks, landing 3 wounds on him in one of them. Captain Marvel responded by knocking Wonder Girl out of the game with 2 final wounds. Then Starfire attacked again, putting wounds 4 and 5 on Captain Marvel before he hit her back for her final two wounds. Starfire got all 5 wounds on Captain Marvel here and though Amazonian Empathy didn’t come into play, Protective Fury did, and it was very helpful.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? Captain Marvel with 5 Wounds wins Turn 3, Round 2.

- Give a brief overview. This match up just turned on the Hawkmen knowing how to play Starfire and Speedy. They lacked a good screen to keep the Hawkmen away, which meant Speedy ended up engaged and unable to ever use Speed Shot, and the Hawkmen targeted Starfire first, preventing her from taking advantage of Protective Fury.

Spoiler Alert!
The SHIELD Agents might’ve been better off risking swipes from Kid Flash and pursuing Kid Flash in the start zone. As it is, they put two wounds on him early, while he took out two of them, then Starfire came out firing, with regular triple attacks mowing down the SHIELD Agents. Their own attacks turned sour and Killbox just wasn’t practical on this map against mobile foes, so they quickly folded. Starfire took out 7 of the 9 Agents here.

But she made the mistake of doing so before Speedy took any wounds and the Hawkmen focused their might on her instead, easily winning the day here.

Spoiler Alert!
Batman’s solid batarang rolls tore up the Titans and then Superman gave them too much to handle in end game. Starfire performed well, triple attacks from Beast Boy helping her put 3 wounds on Batman before he shut her down. Beast Boy healed two wounds in all here but couldn’t see to sneak in any wounds. Robin was a dud, whiffing on a 3 skull Batarang from Batman. Wonder Girl got to use her Amazonian Empathy after Robin died and put the final wound on Batman. But then she cost her team in Round 5 when she died with two Order Markers on her card, leaving a Full Life Superman against a 1 wound Beast Boy. No competition.

Spoiler Alert!
Poor dice luck, too many big attacks from too many Simians, an inability to challenge Solovar in the start zone, an inability to stand up to big attacks from the Simians, Order Marker issues, and jungle trees, height, and Simian Inspiration combining to make Simians too hard to hit all combined to make a bad day for the Titans. Starfire got in a few attacks, but just couldn’t land any wounds here. Her wounded allies were always picked off too quickly for her to ever get in a turn with Protective Fury. Things just didn’t line up well here for her and the Titans at all.
Who won and how many wounds did they have? 3 Gorilla City Warriors, Full Life Gorilla Grodd, and completely untouched, unactivated Solovar and Riddler win Turn 1, Round 5.
