The Book of Robin ('66)

Re: The Book of Robin ('66) - public playtest

Updated SP - Updated 'Holy Smokes, Batman!' so that Robin is actually taking a turn instead of just moving and attacking. Did this to kill turn chains with Songbird and the like.

Re: The Book of Robin ('66) - public playtest

Should be like “during this turn Robin can only attack if you revealed an OM on…”

Re: The Book of Robin ('66) - public playtest

I'd combine those 2 sentences like so:
“HOLY SMOKES, BATMAN!”
After revealing an Order Marker on a Unique Crime Fighter Hero's card you control and taking a turn with that Hero, if Robin is within 6 clear sight spaces of that Crime Fighter, you may take an immediate turn with Robin. During this turn Robin must end his move adjacent to the activated Hero. During this turn Robinand can only attack if you revealed an Order Marker on a Valiant Crime Fighter. You may not take any additional turns with other figures you control.
For pasteability:

C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM

NAME OF THE TEST UNIT Robin '66

Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Too hard to tell.

- What should be the unit's point value? Too hard to tell.
- Give a brief overview. Robin did not get to do anything here. It ended waay too quickly. Restarting with another tactic for the Pirates.
Map: Conflict Chernobyl
Units: Robin '66, Batman '66, Kickass, Songbird, Night Thrasher, Nova, Daredevil II (1,000) vs Corsair, Hepzibah, Raza Longknife, Ch'od, Korvus Rook'Shir (1,000)
Spoiler Alert!

Army Test
- Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes

- What should be the unit's point value? 40-60
- Give a brief overview. This was a much better game for both sides. Robin got to do more but still didn't have much of an impact.

- Give a brief overview. This was a much better game for Robin. He dealt quite a few vital wounds to the opposing team and definitely earned more than his points here even those his team lost.

Units: Robin '66, Batman '66, Luke Cage. Wolverine (Laura), Punisher (Defenders), Jewel (1000) vs N'astirh, Meggan, Robin (Dick), 1xDarkholder, 6xN'Garai (1,000)
Spoiler Alert!

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: He's a light touch that is tricky to use effectively but he has a low cost so that helps. He feels like he'd be good anywhere from 50-60 points but I like what 60 does for pairing him with Batman '66.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: Not a whole lot of tricks for Robin but he is useful if not super impactful. The low point cost helps make him worth drafting though and paired with Batman '66 and the right Utility Glyphs he can be pretty impactful.

Re: The Book of Robin ('66) - public playtest

Ok, messaged Alex yesterday who said his tests would be in that night, but I never got them. Been waiting a long time on him, so I’m feeling fine to go ahead and move forward with this guy and I’ll propose a vote for final editing.

Re: The Book of Robin ('66) - VOTE for final editing

yea

Re: The Book of Robin ('66) - VOTE for final editing

This passes.

I don’t think any artists have grabbed this guy, so whoever wants him can go nuts. Should be ready for carding.

Re: The Book of Robin ('66) - final editing

Uh Dr. Jekyll has had this claimed for a while. I do wanna take another look at the wording here in a bit.

Re: The Book of Robin ('66) - final editing

Clearly Fresh doesn't consider Dr. Jekyll an artist. Rude

Re: The Book of Robin ('66) - final editing

I missed that then, my bad Dr. J LOL

Hah, no worries. I think I claimed it sometime either today or yesterday, so pretty "fresh."

Should be able to give the wording a look over and have the cards up either today or tomorrow.

After revealing an Order Marker on the card of Unique Crime Fighter Hero's card you control and taking a turn with that Hero, if Robin is within 6 clear sight spaces of that Crime Fighter, you may take an immediate turn with Robin. During this turn Robin must end his move adjacent to the activated Hero (what happens if he cannot end his move adjacent due to height, etc) and can only attack if the Crime Fighter you took a turn with had the Valiant personality. You may not take any additional turns with other figures you control.

Still need an answer to my question in blue.

Re: The Book of Robin ('66) - final editing

I would assume he just can’t use the power if he can’t end his turn adjacent for whatever reason.

Could FAQ it.

Re: The Book of Robin ('66) - final editing

I don’t think that’s remotely clear based on the wording of the power.

What happens if he starts his turn and Jean Grey stops his movement?

We do have lots of powers that require you to end moves adjacent to stuff. I’ve just kinda assumes there’s an implied “try your best” clause in there because they don’t really work otherwise.

This is the first one I can think of that has a whole turn involved in it.
