Character Bio - While her origins are unclear, Proxima Midnight has long been an associate of Thanos. Rising through the ranks of his Butcher Squadron, she eventually became one of the mightiest members of the Black Order alongside her husband, Corvus Glaive, and was outfitted with a spear, crafted from a distorted star, that never misses its target. She accompanied the Mad Titan during his siege of Earth, and later was recruited alongside him to serve in Namor's Cabal - even after his untimely death, she has remained with her longtime allies in the Black Order, carving a swath of destruction across the universe.

THE BLACK ORDER

After revealing an Order Marker on the card of another Hero in your army that is named Thanos or is a Unique Destroyer, before taking any turns or using any other special powers, if there are no unrevealed Order Markers on that Hero's card, you may take a turn with Proxima Midnight. You may not take any additional turns with figures other than that Hero.

STELLAR SPEAR SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 5. Attack 3.
When attacking with this special attack, all shields rolled count as additional skulls and opponents' figures may not use any special power to ignore this special attack. After attacking, if the defending figure rolled fewer shields than you rolled skulls and shields, you may choose one of the following:
• For the duration of your player turn, the defending figure rolls 2 fewer defense dice and may not move;
• The defending figure receives one unblockable wound.

SUPER STRENGTH

Yeah - I think I will let someone else handle this one. Don't really know her character, just want more flunkies for Thanos! :D

Wiki copy/paste incoming :p

Re: The Book of Proxima Midnight - Brainstorming Phase

She's got a spear. oh oh!
Does it miss?
No, no!

Proxima Midnight!
That's really all you need to know!

Re: The Book of Proxima Midnight - Brainstorming Phase

First power is locked in and reused, second power seems fun, I'm on board.

There's a draft, do as you will with it!

I might go with "Cruel" for a personality, since she's specifically called out as "cruel" in that little blurb that describes her personality. But Loyal works as well, she's definitely a dyed-in-the-wool Thanos loyalist. Looks good overall - I'm good to go for testing.

Re: The Book of Proxima Midnight - Brainstorming Phase

I like Cruel more than Loyal here.

Re: The Book of Proxima Midnight - Brainstorming Phase

I could run with Cruel, maybe even Sadistic? I like that those would allow her to spear Baby Groot.
Thanks for the bio, chap! :)

Re: The Book of Proxima Midnight - Brainstorming Phase

"Spear today, gone tomorrow."

Re: The Book of Proxima Midnight - Brainstorming Phase

Powered through the Black Order mini-series. Really weird book, the tone was oddly...casual is the word I'd use, I guess? Just didn't expect the sitcom Friends to be something that came to mind when reading a Black Order book. Corvus is a total Ross, btw.

Anyways, the vibe I'm getting from both that book and seeing her in Infinity, etc is that her defining trait is being a warrior woman? I think Sadistic works fine, but I also think it works for literally all of them, so it might be nice to distinguish a bit. Relentless or Disciplined maybe?

Re: The Book of Proxima Midnight - Brainstorming Phase

Yeah, the tone of that book was weird. I think it's an interesting idea to try and contrast their inner lives against the zany intergalactic evil machinations, but it didn't end up feeling cohesive.

I like that train of thought for the personality.

If anyone suggests Feisty I'm ripping their bleeding heads off.............

Relentless'd probably work?

I have no idea what you're talking about. :D Guessing it's a Friends reference? Never actually seen that show. Only U.S. sitcom I've ever actually watched (unless you count The Simpsons, which is a little different) is Frasier, which is one of my favourite shows of all time.

Re: The Book of Proxima Midnight - Brainstorming Phase

Frasier is pretty funny. Such a different take on the character than the one that was in Cheers, but it works so well on it's own. Both shows did the whole 'wife that's never seen but often talked about' gag though.

Re: The Book of Proxima Midnight - Brainstorming Phase

The Cheers Thanksgiving episode when Vera makes her 'appearance' is one of my all time favorite sitcom episodes. Saw it again maybe a year ago and it still held up pretty well.

Meh, my bio was better.
Agreed. Loving all your recent bios.

I love the fact that they'd initially planned to have Maris appear at some stage, but eventually realised that they'd made her so bizarre no human actress could ever hope to portray her. :)
I honestly rate Niles Crane as one of the best comedic characters out there - and, as someone who is a sibling, the relationship between Frasier and Niles is so well constructed. :)
Never actually saw Cheers either - never really appealed.

Re: The Book of Proxima Midnight - Brainstorming Phase

Man I thought I had seen every Cheers episode, but I never even heard about that Thanksgiving one before.

Re: The Book of Proxima Midnight - Brainstorming Phase

Check it out, I think it was the last season with Dianne, there may have been another one later with Kirstie Alley.
I doubt you would get much out of Cheers L_O. My only suggestion is an English comedy,
Black Books.
The Frazier 'Cheers reunion' episode is pretty solid. I am glad they only crossed over a few times. Frasier really does stand on its own.
You may like the Simpson episodes with Sideshow Bob L-O, he is voiced by Kelsey Grammer. Also,David Hyde Pierce guest starred on The Simpsons as Sideshow Bob's younger brother Cecil. He first appeared in Season 8's "Brother from Another Series", and ten years later in "Funeral for a Fiend". He appears again as himself in the Season 26 premiere.
