The Book of Microcorp Troopers

They're out of stock ? You don't have enough money ? Your mother/wife prohibit you from buying more figures ?
Well I'll don't explain my personnal reason, but I've painted 3 squads of AE for simple proxys.

Well, if you plan on spending $100+ not having to pay for shipping can make up for it. Plus, at $3 per figure, I'd say they're about average.

Here's a good Ebay deal- LINK -but it's no guarantee.

Miniature Market is the primary online source for AT-43 and Confrontation minis, which we used for a lot of C3V units. If you can wait, they do a big clearance sale on those games at the end of every year during the holidays.

Thanks. $3 a mini is about average but I can buy two squads of M-43 Resistance Fighters for that much, or a squad's worth of most HoSS squads. I got a gift card for Miniature Market and I'm trying to spend wisely, considering the new HoSS release, the new C3V release, and all the old C3V units I lack (which is about 80% of them). Also, my fledgling collection of X-Wing is growing, so I dropped some on pre-ordering Rebel Aces.

Also, note that MM has been out of the actual Trooper figures for some time. It has the attachment boxes (as does that Ebay auction), which are slightly different and come 6 to a box instead of 8.

Actually, it was our intent that any UNA Star Troopers could be used for the Microcorp Troopers - it doesn't matter which boxes they come in.

I was going to get one of each attachment box, but I'm now dropping those $36 on other things. 3x Microcorps Troopers seems like a good number to me.
And yes, I'll wait till the holidays I guess... But still... I want those troopers! The only Vydar common squad I own are Blastatrons, quite useless without their counterparts, so I rarely see Vydar-based armies at my table. However, the Unique Vydar units I own show up very, very often in armies of other generals...

Microcorp Troops x 4 + Raelin (RotV) won the Austin Con 2017 tournament. Not a lot of top-class armies there, though the 2nd place army (Stingers + Mimring) was pretty potent. Don't underestimate four attacks per turn at range, including one extra powerful one as a special attack.

If you don't mind them looking starwarsy, there are snowtrooper minis out there that work well.

It's not often that I go trawling the Books looking for figures, but today is special, for the trade subforum has failed me. Anyone have a squad or two of Microcorp Troopers they'd like to sell or trade? Send me a PM anytime!

We now return to your regularly scheduled Book reading...

I think @wargamingaddict87 has a bunch for sale. Try pm'ing him.

Which is a better to add to this core army:
Microcorp Troopers * 4 = 320
Raelin +80 - 400
Laglor +110 = 510
Isamu = 520
OR
Deathreavers * 3 +120 = 520
I think both these are armies are pretty top tier almost equivalent to Stingers or 4th/10th en mass. Either you can go to the outsides of maps and shoot people on height, or you can try to take a height advantage. I think if you know you are going against range especially those with WTF, the Laglor range bonus is better and is a huge advantage with these guys!

Hard to say; Laglor with Microcorp Troopers is pretty nasty, but Rats are Rats, so I think this is fairly matchup dependent. Like you said, against WTF you probably want Laglor, and the same is true for Gruts, Phantom Knights, maybe TKN and Dragon builds. Pairing 3 squads of Rats with that core is also not viable in most tourney formats, since you’re at 29 hexes with Raelin. But if you don’t care about that, Rats will be Rats. I lean Laglor myself, but Rats aren’t a wrong answer here.
