The figure used for this unit is a repanted Iron Man 2: Repulsor Iron Man Mark VI.

Character Bio - Master Mold was created by Dr. Bolivar Trask during the original run of X-Men comics. In the 1960s, out of fear of a race of superhuman mutants that could dominate the whole world and enslave normal human beings, Trask makes Master Mold, a super-computer, in the shape of a giant Sentinel robot, that will control and facilitate the construction of the Sentinels (mechanical warriors that are programmed to hunt and capture all superhuman mutants). Unbeknownst to all, the original Master Mold is also programmed by the time-traveling Tanya Trask (aka Madame Sanctity), part of the Askani Sisterhood, with the mission to find and destroy The Twelve: a group of mutants that are linked to the rise of Apocalypse, which the ruthless Sanctity considered an event that must be stopped at all costs. For unknown reasons, some of the mutants that are catalogued as the Twelve are not part of the group. The Master Mold has Trask captured, and decides to take over humanity to keep it safe.

If you roll 16 or higher, remove any Wound Markers from the Army Card of a previously destroyed Sentinel you control and place that Sentinel on an empty space adjacent to Master Mold. You may continue to remove Order Markers and roll for Sentinel Production until there are no Order Markers on this card.

SENTINEL DIRECTIVE
After revealing an Order Marker on this card and instead of taking a turn with Master Mold, you may move up to 3 Sentinels you control or attack with up to 3 Sentinels you control. Sentinels must be within 8 clear sight spaces of Master Mold before moving or attacking with Sentinel Directive.

Sentinel Directive
After revealing an Order Marker on this card, before taking a turn with Master Mold, you may first move up to 3 Sentinels figures you control or attack with up to 3 Sentinels figures you control.

That change and I could see dropping his life to 15. 20 seems too high. I think his cost will go down significantly, especially with that change. I could see 600-700 if we drop his life that way. Ideally he'd be able to fit some Sentinels in an army with him for 1000 points.

For some reason, I forgot to slip that line in Bats, so thanks. I'd been trying to adjust the points because the 1000 had counted the cost of 5 Sentinels as well as some for him. I figure we can start at 650 and adjust from there. You'll also want to be able to fit a few mutants if you want the full synergy between him and the Sentinels. I'm looking for some backround pics now, and hopefully Griff will supply the size and the actual name to fill in the blanks.

I'm going to have to go to Comicvine and see if we can find a better comic pic. That one's probably not going to cut it.

Right now I'm thinking number 3. I remember I had a heck of a time finding something decent as far as comic art goes.

OK, I got the figure tonight. I got one that is bigger than the 8' one quozl suggested. You guys better love this....

It is 10 and a half inches tall.
It is 28 hexes tall (8 hexes taller than the official Sentinel).
It is 19 dollars, I got mine for 13.
It comes with 4 cool pieces of what we can use as terrain or DOs at some point.
It stands on 2 hexes, so this guy can actually move like he should (this was the biggest reason why I got this one as opposed to the one that stands on 3 hexes, that, and this guy is an absolute monster). :D

My internet is crap right now, but I will post pics as soon as I can. It is called Iron Man 2: Repulsor Power Iron Man Mark VI

Is this a store exlusive figure? I hope not, but I'm not worried about it, it just need to be put in the unit name is all. I'll update the info with this for now, and if it's decided this is really what we are going to use, then I can add a move number in without any trouble. Thanks Griff.

I love the design. :up:

I have a couple of concerns though:
  1. I understand why RELENTLESS is his personality, because he relentlessly creates Sentinels, however, when I think of RELENTLESS in heroscape, I think of relentless attacking with a fury driving it. I would prefer something a bit more "robotronic" like EFFICIENT.
  2. He can have a move now since he can stand on two spaces just fine.
  3. maybe I am just a worrier, but SENTINEL PRODUCTION just seems too easy and automatic. Also, by nature, that power will be much weaker in a 3 player or more game. I think we should really think about our possibilities with this power and decide on what is best. Off hand, I am thinking of forfeiting his turn completely to replicate a Sentinel on a low roll. That creates good in game decisions between SENTINEL PRODUCTION and SENTINEL DIRECTIVE. Also, it gives some randomness to it as opposed to automatic.

My thoughts on Rentless was that he also relentlessly persues the distruction of mutants. I hadn't even thought of relentlessly creating Sentinels :lol: but I'm open to other personalitys, that's generally where I have the hardest time when designing. As for number 3, I'll give that one some thought.

Definitely in favor of him not moving, attacking, or using any other special power in order to birth a Sentinel.

We could easily make it an after revealing an Order Marker, instead of taking a turn ... but that also means you could do it three times in a round instead of one (though we could/should restrict that as well).
By the way, I also really like Griff's suggested personality of Efficient. Move of 4 for this guy if he fits on bases (have you checked this, Griff?).

OK gave him a move of 4, Flying Symbol, and made it so you have to give up your turn with him to place a previously destroyed Sentinel.

SENTINEL PRODUCTION
After revealing an Order Marker on this card, and instead of taking a turn with Master Mold or any other Sentinels you control, you may immediately remove all Wound Markers from the Army Card of a previously destroyed Sentinel you control and place it on an empty space adjacent to Master Mold.

This is to prevent Sentinel Directive from kicking in. Not being able to move/attack with Master Mold isn't a huge loss.

When Defending, add 20 levels to Master Molds base for the purpose of determining height advantage.

Note: His uses would be build or cheer lead. Fighting and moving is more defensive for him.

I got a 6'' Iron Man. It's taller than the other 2 Iron Man's I have. Probably by 2 1/2''. I picked it up a Wal-Mart for $12.

Alright, a few thoughts:

1) Very happy with the figure choice - while I doubt I'll ever get my hands on one (since I don't have the skill, time, or patience for modding - I don't even have the patience for rebasing!), the fact that Master Mold is significantly larger than even the biggest Sentinels makes it A-OK with me.

2) I don't buy Conqueror as a class. He's not the Conqueror - he has nothing to conquer, no real goal of controlling the world or anything. Well, he does intend to eradicate Mutants and "rule" humanity, but less in a Conquest way and more of a... I dunno. I like "Destroyer" or even "Producer" better.

3) I'm not entirely comfortable with Sentinel Production as-is, if only because of the possibility of future Sentinels (like the blue one that was recently released) that could be significantly more powerful than the original. I, personally, would love to see a Sentinel that costs in the 350-point range.

4) Optic Blast seems like a really weird, unthematic power for him. He shouldn't really be doing much fighting at all; I'd like some sort of melee SMASH! boost/attack more.

EDIT: For personality, perhaps... "Creative?"
