Character Bio - While Young Justice battled against Klarion the Witch Boy, Klarion ended it by using magic to swap everyone’s ages. Young Justice became adults and the Justice League became toddlers. Though Young Justice eventually prevailed and forced Klarion to change everyone on Earth back, his specific “on Earth” wording neglected to fix Lobo who was in space at the time. Angry and unable to get himself transformed back, Li’l Lobo somehow got mixed in with Young Justice. He kind of joined the team, sort of helped out, and actually went on a date with Empress. He brought a special brand of muscle along on missions, so even though most of Young Justice was apprehensive, he proved useful. During Darkseid’s massive war, the team was stranded on Apokolips. Pinned down by Parademons all around, it looked grim for Young Justice until Li’l Lobo charged forward, taking on every parademon at once, saving the team, but being gunned down in the process. His blood eventually regenerated a new Lobo who grew back into his adult self, with no memory of his time with Young Justice.

THE TOP TEEN
After revealing an Order Marker on the card of any Hero you control that is a Sidekick or Titan, instead of taking a turn with that Hero, you may take a turn with Li'l Lobo. If you do, that Hero cannot take a turn for the rest of the round.

BASTICH BASH
After attacking, you may choose a figure adjacent to Li'l Lobo. Move the chosen figure 1 space. A figure moved by this special power may not be moved adjacent to Lobo and never takes any leaving engagement attacks. After moving the chosen figure, if there is at least one Wound Marker on this card, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 11 or higher, the chosen figure receives a wound.

Anything Titans-y. Otherwise an Apokalips landscape would be cool. Both for being a space bounty hunter and where he died.

Re: The Book of Li'l Lobo (Breathing)

On the calculator, having Top Teen as a 3, and Bash as a 2 gets him to 170. If Bash is a 3, he's about 185. Either way the 170 guess is pretty close I believe.

The OM movement is meant to combo with Wondergirl, so nobody gets more than one. You could always take more with Lobo here, but then he loses the bonus. Also works with Robin's bonding. I think he'll be a solid pick in any Titans army just for the flexibility, though.

Re: The Book of Li'l Lobo (Breathing)

Neat little design! The healing factor was such a big part of OG Lobo. Should Jr. here have a lighter version? (Just plain Healing, for example?)

Re: The Book of Li'l Lobo (Breathing)

We could if we want to. He technically has it (He's literally classic Lobo), but they never REALLY mention it as far as I recall, until he gets killed. Then his blood regenerates back into classic Lobo off panel so he can show up in other books. I kind of just padded his life to represent it.

Re: The Book of Li'l Lobo (Breathing)

Personally I think one Lobo was enough, but when has DC ever listened to me? :p

I kind of feel like the Bash should be a must? Can't speak to the character, but I feel like if he's hurt, mad, and aggressive, shoving a teammate around is going to hurt them as much as it would an enemy.

And I agree that Healing would be doable, but it's not a must. That's a definite dial to turn if he feels off in testing, though - his card has room for it if needed.

Re: The Book of Li'l Lobo (Breathing)

It IS the same Lobo. ;)

You mean the wounding on the Bash? I'm fine with that! I don't want the power itself to be a must though if that's what you meant.

Re: The Book of Li'l Lobo (Breathing)

Sung to the Sheriff Lobo theme.

There is a man a legend tells,
who stands for what is right.
Like Judge Dredd he never shirks,
or cowards from a fight.
He is our Li'l Lobo,
mighty Li'l Lobo.
Skin so gray,
oh Lobo, keep us strong!
He has no fear,
he's always here,
his ego stands alone.
A man who fights,
who destroys our things as if they were his own.
He speeds the streets from early dawn,
his bike will turf your lawn.
Both big and small,
he frags them all,
who dares to fight his cause.
He is our Li'l Lobo,
mighty Li'l Lobo.
Keep us strong.
He's so strong.
Keep us strong.

Right, the wounding - you can shove whoever, if you do and he's wounded, you must roll an unblockable against them.

Re: The Book of Li'l Lobo (Breathing)

That Bash power is going to pair nicely with Hit Anything That Moves.

Cool write up. I agree that from what you described the healing isn't needed.

Top Teen will be nice for rescuing Order Markers. A Wonder Girl (II), Miss Martian, Tim Drake Robin (II) army definitely seems like a nice fit for him.

Re: The Book of Li'l Lobo (Breathing)

Made this one change, both for theme, and now he has a choice to bash with an unblockable or attack normally.

After moving and before attacking, you may choose one figure adjacent to Li'l Lobo and place the chosen figure within 1 space of its original placement. The chosen figure cannot be placed adjacent to Li'l Lobo. If there are 2 or more wound markers on this card, after placing the chosen figure, you may roll one unblockable attack die against that figure. A figure moved by this special power never takes any leaving engagement attacks but will take any falling damage that may apply.

Re: The Book of Li'l Lobo ~ Vote for Initial

Think you still want to make the rolling for a wound mandatory right?

Yea

Re: The Book of Li'l Lobo ~ Waiting for Initial

After one game Lobo wasn't playing quite how I wanted him to, so running the next games with this powerset:

THE TOP TEEN
After revealing an Order Marker on any Sidekick or Titan card you control, instead of taking a turn with that Sidekick or Titan you may take a turn with L'il Lobo. If you do, that Sidekick or Titan may not move or attack for the rest of the round.

BASTICH BASH
After attacking, you may choose one figure adjacent to Li'l Lobo and move the chosen figure 1 space. The chosen figure cannot end its movement adjacent to Li'l Lobo. If there is 1 or more wound markers on this card, after moving the chosen figure, after placing the chosen figure, roll one unblockable attack die against that figure. A figure moved by this special power never takes any leaving engagement attacks.

C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM

NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: Li’l Lobo

VERSION TESTED:

Spoiler Alert!

Army Test
Summary: Young Justice started strong, but faltered pretty quickly. They couldn’t roll well this game, and once Wonder Girl was down it was over. Even a fully enraged Arrowette couldn’t land a wound. Lobo’s impact was minimal. It was hard to use Bash and give up his attack in many cases, and Top Teen wasn’t as useful as it sounded, since I wanted to place OMs on his card to begin with. Might make some changes here.

Units: Lobo, Wonder Girl, Robin (Tim), Secret, Aqualad (Kaldur), Arrowette, Robin (Dick) (1000)

Army Test
Summary: The plan to abuse Donna and Miss Martian’s throws was completely thwarted. Cyclops was on a rampage, and YJ could never keep up.

Units: Lobo (190), Wonder Girl (YJ), Robin (YJ), Secret, Miss Martian, Wonder Girl (Donna)

Vs

X-Men

Army Test
Summary: Well apparently Young Justice is a good counter to the Titans, haha. Superboy died WAY too fast, but after that they could not keep up. Donna was the MVP here, dealing ludicrous amounts of damage, and her, Robin’s and Secret’s Defense subtraction paired with Hit Anything not wanting them to move was just brutal.
Map: Custom
Units: Lobo, Wonder Girl (YJ), Robin (YJ), Secret, Arrowette, Wonder Girl (Donna), Kid Flash (1000)

Vs

Nightwing, Starfire, Superboy, Raven, Red Robin (Smoke Pellets) (1000)

Spoiler Alert!

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: I think he’s pretty solid with the changes. Definitely a useful pick with a Young Justice team now, and also fun when also paired with Donna Wonder Girl.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT:
Much more fun after changes! I very much enjoy playing the whole Young Justice team now, it’s really coming together. Donna might be a staple in the team though, her lasso is crazy, and all their defense subtractions is brutal against people like Nightwing and Superboy.

Re: The Book of Li'l Lobo ~ Waiting for Initial

Really enjoying these YJ armies. Finally ran the fated Young Justice vs Titans game. Quite the slaughter in YJ's favor, but Superboy got seriously shafted and then Secret got next to Nightwing, and Robin used Deduction so he could only roll a single defense die. With those two down it was pretty much already over! I'm happy so far at 190.

I propose public testing at 190

Re: The Book of Li'l Lobo ~ Vote for Public Testing

yea

Wonder Girl Donna is a great unit, her lasso is brutal. The tough part with her is having an OM on her when it's most needed, plus her low survivability.

Re: The Book of Li'l Lobo ~ Vote for Public Testing

Always have loved Donna yeah. Arrowette is fun with any low life Titans though :)
