Once per round, instead of an attack, you may roll 6 combat dice. For each skull rolled, choose a figure within 6 clear sight spaces of King Ghidorah to receive a wound. You may not choose the same figure more than once, unless that figure is huge.

GRAVITY BEAMS SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 7. Attack Special.
Once per round, instead of an attack, choose a figure for this special attack. Roll 7 attack dice against the chosen figure, and 5 dice once, against all figures other than King Ghidorah adjacent to the chosen figure. After using this special attack, for each destructible object destroyed in the attack, each defending figure receives one wound.

Thinking about dropping Wings Hurricane as that is sort of Rodan's thing and I do not see it being used that often when you can double or triple attack engaged figures.
No idea what to replace it with. Maybe something that can be scaled up if we ever do a story card to boost him.

I think I would word Three Headed Monster like this:

Reads better to me.

Perhaps a power that sees him placing a bunch of weather glyphs? Specifically rain and thunderstorm ones?

I’d also consider bumping his life to 15, and having his attacks go by 5 wound markers? So 3 attacks if he has fewer than 5 wounds. 2 attacks if he has 6-9 wounds. 1 attack if he has 10 or more wounds?

Yeah, I'd drop Wings Hurricane since Rodan does that and it's not something I really associate with Ghidorah.

I'm not sure why you'd ever attack a DO with Gravity Beams - a range 7 attack of 10 is going to obliterate anything you attack. It has use when someone dodgy like Flash is next to a DO, but besides that (or Gundams) I worry the DO destruction will end up as flavor text. Maybe add an explosion or fire line-like effect so you get some collateral damage and can blow up some DOs on the way to your target.

I like the suggestion of weather glyphs. Summoning the storms was a very cool part of KOTM.

Name should be "King Ghidorah" and you've got an O instead of a 0 in his height.

Any examples of how that power may look?

Godzilla does fire line correct? So would want something different, maybe have it affect all adjacent figures to target?

He only ever loses the one head so reducing him to one attack would not be thematic. I did have him at 15 Life but people thought he looked better than Godzilla so I dialed it back, no problem bumping it up as needed. I like the threshold at 7 as that matches most of his stats.

Fwiw I looked at the version in the SP and it didn't look worth 1000 on the calculator to me until I bumped it to 15 life, so I was going to suggest a life increase too at first blush.

Now if the powers change a bit, that might change. Godzilla has 20 life, though, so this guy being that much lower than him feels wrong, IMO.

Love the triple attack that becomes double attack when he loses a head. :up: Too bad it's not thematic for him to lose all three heads, or we could do a head marker mechanic like Ted and Bob and Carol and Ringo.

Heh, that would be cool. I know he does get a robotic head to replace the lost one at some point. Not sure if there is a figure for that though. Maybe that would work for a story card.

Could the head loss be random? Something like this.
Start the game with a [color] Head Marker on this card. After King Ghidorah receives one or more wounds, roll the 20-sided die, subtracting the number of wounds on this card from the roll. If you roll 1 or lower, remove the Head Marker from this card.

(That could be easily boosted with a Story Card later.)

So are we doing good guy Monsters as Destroyers and bad guy Monsters as Invaders? A bit confused by all that tbh.

Life at 14 should be good.

For how many weather glyphs to use, may as well go with 7 then. I’m not sure what all weather effects he usually has, but the idea of 7 glyphs on the field of storms and tornadoes etc. seems neat.

High Winds and Thunderstorms seem most appropriate from what I read on Wiki at least. Definitely not an expert here, though.

Right now Desaad gives a mild boost to Invaders (reroll one die that doesn't show a skull) and Thunderers of Qward get to boost their attack if they're adjacent to a Destroyer. Fairly mild synergies, though the Desaad one is clearly better.

Y'all've already forced every Godzilla monster to be a Kaiju, seems like that's plenty enough of a thing for hypothetical generic synergy without also forcing them all to share a class. Just make Event Kong a Kaiju too if you want him in there, since Destroyer makes little sense for his class anyway.

King Ghidora is an alien space invader that works with other space invaders (many of which are person sized) to invade things from outer space. Same with Gigan.

How about this for Gravity Beams?

King Ghidorah can only use this special attack once per round. Choose a figure to attack. Roll 8 attack dice against the chosen figure, and 4 dice against each adjacent figure. Figures roll defense separately. After using this special attack, for each destructible object destroyed in that attack, each defending figure receives an additional wound.

This conveys kind of an "explosion/gravity sinkhole" type attack, is a bit less punishing to non-Kaiju figures, feels a bit more "epic once per round", and still encourages you to hit destructible object.

Sure, I'm fine with that. There was talk about it being a thing, though, so I figured if we wanted class consistency to be a thing better to talk it through now than keep referring to it in passing. Sounds like Ghidora/Desaad makes sense as an army thematically, which is neat.
