NAME = KID FLASH
SECRET IDENTITY = WALLACE WEST

SPECIES = METAHUMAN
UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO
CLASS = SIDEKICK
PERSONALITY = NAIVE

SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 4

LIFE = 4

MOVE = 9
RANGE = 1
ATTACK = 4
DEFENSE = 3

POINTS = 140

METAHUMAN MENTOR
At the start of the game, you may choose a Unique Metahuman Hero you control. After revealing an Order Marker on the chosen Hero's card and taking a turn with that Hero, if Kid Flash is within 6 clear sight spaces of that Hero or that Hero has the Superspeed or Speed Force special power, you may take an immediate turn with Kid Flash. You may not take any additional turns with other figures you control.

SUPERSPEED
Kid Flash may move through all figures, never takes leaving engagement attacks, and does not have to stop his movement when entering water spaces. After taking a turn with Kid Flash, if he did not use his Metahuman Mentor special power this turn, he may move up to an additional 4 spaces.

SPEED DODGE 2
When Kid Flash defends against an attack, and you roll at least one blank, Kid Flash takes no damage and may immediately move up to 2 spaces.

Re: The Book of Kid Flash (Wallace West) (breathing)

Super simple draft here. Basically Kid Flash can act as a sidekick to any Metahuman or Speedster just like Aqualad (Garth) or the Robins. The Naive personality ties him into the Titans for Hire/Defiance stuff that Japes has planned.

Re: The Book of Kid Flash (Wallace West) (breathing)

Looks neat, and it’ll be nice to have some decent Metahuman synergy to play with.

Re: The Book of Kid Flash (Wallace West) (breathing)

Looks pretty simple to me. I dig it.

Re: The Book of Kid Flash (Wallace West) (breathing)

Seems fun. I like Aqualad (Garth) & the Robins so a Metahuman/Speedster sidekick is a solid direction to me.

Re: The Book of Kid Flash (Wallace West) (breathing)

Very cool! :) My next LD is going to go hand-in-hand with this one.

Re: The Book of Kid Flash (Wallace West) (breathing)

Yep, no issues here! Only thing is that I believe Naive is the mechanical tie for Japes' Deathstroke draft. I don't know him, so see if he's someone that Deathstroke could manipulate.

Re: The Book of Kid Flash (Wallace West) (breathing)

Glad people are digging it. Wallace was a part of Deathstroke’s team in Rebirth, so that was intentional. This is actually a Japes draft I commandeered. :D

Re: The Book of Kid Flash (Wallace West) (breathing)

I would say that's thematic then. :lol:

I propose for initial playtesting

yea

Getting about 160-170 on the calculator.

Re: The Book of Kid Flash (Wallace West) (vote for initial)

Yea

160-170 seems a tad high, but I could be totally off base.

Re: The Book of Kid Flash (Wallace West) (vote for initial)

It'll feel a little weird him costing more than OG Wally given the inexperienced feel he generally has, but that's the nature of bonding powers.

Yea

Re: The Book of Kid Flash (Wallace West) (waiting for initia

Solid design! I really love the Rebirth Kid Flash in what I've read of him, so cool to see him added.

Only thing I'd suggest a tweak on is that he comes across kind of bland, thematically - the comic character is very much the "troubled teen" type, sort of a Jason Todd for the Flash. I really just think it needs a little tweak. His "Sidekick" power is already pretty unique with the Superspeed bit. Maybe "SEEKING A MENTOR" or something like that?

SEEKING A MENTOR
At the start of each round, you may choose a Unique Metahuman Hero you control. After revealing an Order Marker on and taking a turn with that Hero, if Kid Flash is within 6 clear sight spaces of that Hero or that Hero has the Superspeed or Speed Force special power, you may take an immediate turn with Kid Flash. You may not take any additional turns with other figures you control.

I don't know, just looking for ways to give him a little more flavor - I don't think it needs to be too radical.

Re: The Book of Kid Flash (Wallace West) (waiting for initia

I do like the idea of a one-person mentor for him to latch onto. I'd probably do it at the start of the game rather than the start of each round. It'd help keep his points down and give Kid Flash Wally more of a niche too.

Any objections to that idea?

Re: The Book of Kid Flash (Wallace West) (waiting for initia

I like the start of the game concept. I've found that bonding with just one figure instead of a whole group of figures at once is a much more fun and balanced system. Keeps the points down for sure.

Re: The Book of Kid Flash (Wallace West) (waiting for initia

I like the choose one for a game. :up:

Re: The Book of Kid Flash (Wallace West) (waiting for initia

I'm going to go against the tide and say I like the start of each round. He's *seeking* a mentor. Just doing it once at the start of a game isn't seeking, it's settling on one and going with it. I like the idea that he can keep searching and potentially has a restless spirit.

And tactically it's nice to keep his power relevant later in games if your initial chosen mentor goes down fast.

Re: The Book of Kid Flash (Wallace West) (waiting for initia

How about a name change? I don't mind the power being turned irrelevant if his mentor falls - it'll take some heat off of Kid Flash, and he's always got Sidekick synergies to fall back on if he's in a Titans build.
METAHUMAN MENTOR
At the start of the game, you may choose a Unique Metahuman Hero you control. After revealing an Order Marker on and taking a turn with the chosen Hero, if Kid Flash is within 6 clear sight spaces of that Hero or that Hero has the Superspeed or Speed Force special power, you may take an immediate turn with Kid Flash. You may not take any additional turns with other figures you control.
