The Book of Joker (III)

Re: The Book of Joker (III) (Final Editing Phase)

Picked up the mini and took some pics. Not sure about these, but I can try for some sharper ones over the weekend.

Spoiler Alert!

Re: The Book of Joker (III) (Final Editing Phase)

If you could get a little more focus on the face, I like the 2nd or 3rd position.

Re: The Book of Joker (III) (Final Editing Phase)

Alright. I'll see if I can't get some slightly better-looking ones from that angle.

Re: The Book of Joker (III) (Final Editing Phase)

Those will work...His hand looks like a fried egg though...:)

Re: The Book of Joker (III) (Final Editing Phase)

The ol' fried-egg-in-the-hand is a rarely-seen gag, but y'know, I think it would work. I know I'd be pretty upset to go in for a handshake and come away with palm full of yolk.

Re: The Book of Joker (III) (Final Editing Phase)

Cards up and Art links updated.

Re: The Book of Joker (III) (Final Editing Phase)

They look good to me. What was the issue with the art links by the way? Usually I'm on the money with them... was it something about the III nomenclature?

In any case, I PROPOSE WE MOVE TO ON DECK!

Re: The Book of Joker (III) (VOTE for On Deck)

YEA

They were linked to Chase

HA! Oh Batsy, the yolk's on you! A-HA-HA-HA!

Re: The Book of Joker (III) (VOTE for On Deck)

Have we ever had a speech bubble in our art before? I thought that was frowned on.

Very Rarely and as I was taking it out I thought it worked for this version. I meant to point it out and see what everyone else thought. It's not a problem to take it out but I wanted to get a reaction first.

Thanks for the reminder.

Re: The Book of Joker (III) (VOTE for On Deck)

It is so small and minor that I would take the speech bubble out.

Re: The Book of Joker (III) (VOTE for On Deck)

We have before (see Billy Batson), and personally I like it here. Joker feels like the sort of person that would have a speech bubble on their card... guy's a rule breaker. :p

But I'm not married to it if others object.

Re: The Book of Joker (III) (VOTE for On Deck)

Yea

The speech bubble seems fitting to me.

Re: The Book of Joker (III) (VOTE for On Deck)

Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble.

Nice cards!

Re: The Book of Joker (III) (VOTE for On Deck)

I think the context of the art becomes hard to follow without the speech bubble.

Re: The Book of Joker (III) (VOTE for On Deck)

Seems like most people are fine with the bubble so, we'll keep it.

This passes! #701 I believe... glad to see it done. :D
@Xorlof, he should be all set.

I saw the speech bubble & thought it appropriate also.

No real EPB issue here, but I did notice that Harley II has a POP! Gun (no quotation marks), but Joker here has a "BANG!" Gun (with quotation marks). I could maybe see updating for consistency there, but I don't know that Joker has a style guide anyhow.

Joker is looking fine for EPB checks.

Interesting note on the "BANG!" vs. POP! distinction. Do we have any other precedent for onomatopoeia? I can't think of any - I agree we should be consistent on it.
