_________________________________________________________________

Character Bio - When the Serpent Society started secretly running his hometown, concerned citizen Jack Harrison decided to do something about it. He took on the masked identity of Jack Flag, infiltrated the Society, and helped Captain America to bring them down. Jack also gained super-powers in the process, becoming immensely strong and durable after being exposed to the same chemicals that created Mister Hyde. He would go on to become a member of Star-Lord's Guardians of the Galaxy, despite his frequent protestations against all things "cosmic."

Re: The Book of Jack Flag (Design)

NAME = JACK FLAG
SECRET IDENTITY = JACK HARRISON

SPECIES = MUTATE
UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO
CLASS = CRIME FIGHTER
PERSONALITY = GROUNDED

SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5

LIFE = 6

MOVE = 5
RANGE = 1
ATTACK = 5
DEFENSE = 5

POINTS = 190

TACTICAL DIVERSION
Before taking a turn with a Unique Hero you control that is a Leader or Soldier, you may reveal an "X" Order Marker on this card. If you do, all figures engaged with Jack Flag subtract 2 from their Defense numbers for that Hero's turn.

BEATING THE ODDS
After revealing an Order Marker on this card and taking a turn with Jack Flag, if Jack Flag is within 4 spaces of an enemy figure and there are more enemy figures on the battlefield than friendly figures, you may take one additional turn with Jack Flag. During this turn, Jack Flag cannot both move and attack, unless he is the only figure you control.

SUPER STRENGTH

Scrapped power:
Spoiler Alert!

Spoiler Alert!

Background:
Spends time in space and fighting street level crime, so there's a pretty wide range of possibilities here. Going cosmic might match the vibe of the comic art a little better than a cityscape. Whatever looks good.

Same as before, looking good! Very excited to see this one, I love the design.

Re: The Book of Jack Flag (Design)

I usually try to line up my mini photos ahead of time, but I can't find the ones I took of this guy. The mini's very cheap and readily available. Decent odds someone already has it, but if not, it won't be hard to get hold of.

If you don't know the character or missed the brainstorming, he's meant to be a Cap/Star-Lord buddy (see bio for whys and wherefores). He'll also get some play with Crime Fighters, naturally.

Re: The Book of Jack Flag (Design)

I'll throw his figure in the order I'm making this week.

Re: The Book of Jack Flag (Design)

I feel a little bad that he's mostly a diversion, since he's a pretty cool character. But Beating the Odds really reflects his finest hour - when he took on the Thunderbolts alone after Civil War - so he's definitely got the right stuff.

My only real quibble is how specific Tactical Diversion is. I get the purpose - Star-Lord and Cap - but is there any reason not to open it up a bit? My thought being by removing the Unique Hero requirement... could be cool to see him hanging out with some grunts. Would pair well with Keeping 'Em Busy.

Yeah, I think having something to reflect that story gives him a little pop that makes me feel a lot better about running him.

Not really that into the idea of opening him up to Kree and Hulkbusters (the only grunts we have). The Kree in particular feel like a negative to me rather than a positive.

Re: The Book of Jack Flag (Design)

I have his figure and can get pics done. I still need to take those pics of Man-Thing for Arkham so I'll get both done soon.

I’ve got pics for Man-Thing since my order came in. I can get Jack Flag if it’s at all an inconvenience for you.

Re: The Book of Jack Flag (Design)

I love the theme of Beating the Odds. Cool concept and Execution. I wonder if Keeping ‘Em Busy is reusable enough that it should have a more universal name. If Elingated Man’s current engagement power proves overpowered, for instance, this would make a nice substitute.

Not an inconvenience at all, but since you are doing the cards it makes sense for you to take care of it if you are able and willing.

I'm open to suggestions. Probably just gonna move this along in the meanwhile, though, since power names can be in flux through Final Editing.

Let's move Jack to initial testing.

Re: The Book of Jack Flag (Vote Initial)

Enemy Occupation? Distracting Engagrment? Not sure. It’s possibly reusable as is, depending whom it’s on.

Re: The Book of Jack Flag (Vote Initial)

Yea

Honestly, I think Keeping 'Em Busy is pretty reusable as a name, as-is.

Re: The Book of Jack Flag (Vote Initial)

OK, that'll work then. I just wanted to check in on that because I like the power as a reusable one for sure.

Re: The Book of Jack Flag (Vote Initial)

Why is it not Keepin' 'Em Busy?
