The Book of Heat Wave

Re: The Book of Heat Wave - VOTE for Playtesting

Yea

Re: The Book of Heat Wave - VOTE for Playtesting

While we are waiting for Spidey and Good Pig to vote and for the public tests, can someone get me some good pictures of this figure? Spidey has a couple, but his white suit blends in with the background and it's a little hard to distinguish. They are usable, but I think we can do better.

Re: The Book of Heat Wave - VOTE for Playtesting

I will get some for you today.

Re: The Book of Heat Wave - VOTE for Playtesting

Thanks Good Pig.

Down to Spidey.

Re: The Book of Heat Wave - VOTE for Playtesting

Yea to Playtesting. If I can get my camera back from my sister (borrowed for new baby pics) I will be happy to get some more of him. I have a green or blue background I can use as well.

Re: The Book of Heat Wave - VOTE for Playtesting

Griffin said he would get to these tonight. Thanks though Spidey.

If you want me too, I can paint this guy a bit and make him look a bit better and also refocus on the face tomorrow. If you like.

Re: The Book of Heat Wave - Playtesting

That's fine. As long as you are just touching up and not doing a repaint. I have until Final Editing, I just wanted to make sure you guys had time.

Re: The Book of Heat Wave - Playtesting

OK. Yeah, I was mostly gonna touch up his suit to make it look more like leather, and then also give his lips some color without looking like lipstick.

Re: The Book of Heat Wave - Playtesting

Nice repaint! :) (Well touch up, really, but his face looks a ton better).

Re: The Book of Heat Wave - Playtesting

Yeah, I pretty much touched up everything here, even his goggles. But I definitely held back so that the mini on the card would still look like the figure most people have.

I really like what you did with the flames on his gun. Thanks for getting me some good pictures. This card will be ready before Final Editing even starts. :D

C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM

NAME OF THE TEST UNIT Heat Wave

- THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them.
Fail. His SA shouldn't harm him.

- MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game.
Pass

- BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding.
Pass

- SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit to powerful or too weak.
Pass

- POWER CHECK/ Consider the test unit and all existing units and all glyphs to compare to and check for any powers that could be over amplified and break the game. Each power must define when it takes place, who or what it affects, and What are the stipulations on the power if there are any.
Fail. I don't like how Human Torch I and II, Pyro, Magma, etc can harm Heat Wave with their fire attacks because he doesn't have true Lava Resistance. I suggested a change to his Heat Resistance power already.

- FUN TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play.
Pass

- FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against.
Pass

- DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting.
Pass

- USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable.
Pass, though it is easy to forget about his fear of snow....

- STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game.
Pass

Army Test
- Does it pass
, Yes or No? Yes.
- What should be the unit's point value? 110.
- Give a brief overview. HW was pretty useful in clearing out some squads. I really liked how he felt a bit like a terrorist in how he was instilling fear by murder.
Map: Custom.
Units: Heat Wave, Doctor Light, Shadow Thief, and Mirror Master - VS - Flash and Beat Cops x4.
Spoiler Alert!

Pass. Heat Wave is fun! Playing with fire is always fun!

Pass. Sure sure. Heat Wave can move through lava field, but still has to be wary of molten lava tiles. His Flamethrower also provides a strategic way to kill weak defense figures, and Fear of Cold requires attention on snow maps.

- Army Test/ Does it pass, Yes or No? What should be the unit's point value? Give a brief summary. Pass at 110. Heat Wave definitely killed his points worth, although it didn’t seem like much. Flamethrower is a fun addition, and it can pick on those flimsy squad figures. Heat Resistant also helps positioning and height advantage on many lava maps.
Map: Fire Isles
Units: Heat Wave, Hercules, Giant Man, and Flash (900) vs. Super Skrull (F4), and Skrull Warriors x5 (890).

- Army Test/ Does it pass, Yes or No? What should be the unit's point value? Give a brief summary. Pass at 110. Heat Wave’s Flamethrower really allows him to shine. Incinerating squad and low defense figures is very useful! His base stats are also decent, not to mention Heat Resistant.
Map: Fire Isles
Units: Heat Wave, Zoom, Gorilla Grodd, and Mirror Master (725) vs. Commissioner Gordon, Swamp Thing, Science Police x2, and 5th Precinct Beat Cops x2 (725).
