NAME = GLYPH OF UTILITY: BAT CREDIT CARD
SUBTITLE = BUY OUT

EQUIPMENT GLYPH
When this glyph comes into play, place two black Investment Markers on this card. If an opponent would remove one or more Investment Markers from any Army Card, you may first remove one Investment Marker from this card. If you do, that opponent may not remove any Investment Markers from that card this player turn. Before taking a turn with this figure, you may move one Investment Marker from this card to this figure's Army Card. Only one Investment Marker may be removed from any Bat Credit Card per round.

I still think the 2 markers and making the opponent’s figure unable to spend markers for the rest of the turn is too much. Neutralizing 2/3rds of a unit’s marquee ability is already a HUGE advantage. No reason to screw them over any more.

Imagine if Batman was able to stop Flash from using Speed Dodge 2/3rds of the time. Or stop Cap from placing 2/3rds of his Avengers Markers. Not directly comparable situations, I know, I know. But the point is I don’t think it’s fun to draft a unit and have an opponent draft Batman and use just 1 of their 3 Utility Belt picks to almost completely screw your unit out of its main thing.

Re: The Book of Glyph of Utility: Bat Credit Card (Breathing

It's not neutralizing it, just delaying it. It's preventing them from removing the marker, not removing it from their card.

That said my original draft was a one time single marker removal, but that was deemed too weak. I'm totally fine there or anywhere in between! :p

Re: The Book of Glyph of Utility: Bat Credit Card (Breathing

Okay, I misread based off of how it originally was! Just disabling spending for a turn sounds much more fair and fun.

Re: The Book of Glyph of Utility: Bat Credit Card (Breathing

That recharge bit is kinda fun too. I like where this ended up

Re: The Book of Glyph of Utility: Bat Credit Card (Breathing

I like how Penguin or Black King could take Bruce's CC and start charging it up for their own purposes.

Even criminal masterminds aren't above some classic Credit Card fraud.

Dig where this ended up.

Re: The Book of Glyph of Utility: Bat Credit Card (Breathing

I love that this is happening. Cool mechanics too.

Re: The Book of Glyph of Utility: Bat Credit Card (Breathing

Yeah, I'm pretty happy where this landed. Niche but playable.

Re: The Book of Glyph of Utility: Bat Credit Card (Breathing

I propose we move to initial testing!

Re: The Book of Glyph of Utility: Bat Credit Card -Initial t

Possible issue I just realized. We now have multiple vigilantes with Utility belt (Nightwing, Batwoman). If you run a vigilante army, and see Penguin or Black King across the table, they could all run the credit card totally neutering them. We didn't want it to be too powerful, and I think we nailed a single one, but what about a credit card gang-up?

I could just run a test like that to see if dropping the other glyphs is worth it, but I really think it would be just to knock Penguin or King out of the fight.

Re: The Book of Glyph of Utility: Bat Credit Card -Initial t

We did something with the Nova drafts a while back where they had a shared pool of markers. What about something like that? Start the game with 2 Markers for all Credit Cards you control. Makes thematic sense too, since the funds are coming from the same place.

I like that. Discourages multiples and the thematic sense. Cool

Perfect. All the money is coming from the same place anyhow.

Re: The Book of Glyph of Utility: Bat Credit Card -Initial t

The only thing is where do the markers actually be stored? Or should we remove a marker from each Credit Card in play when used?

Re: The Book of Glyph of Utility: Bat Credit Card -Initial t

I'd want starting markers increased at that point. Basically makes it a single draft restriction without actually making it so. Maybe just cap the number of markers that can be spent each round. Like 1 per round or something.
