Character Bio: Queen Maladrix The Conquerer never attends to the war-torn battlefields of Valhalla without her Festering Honor Guard. Wherever Maladrix stalks, her guards are close at hand, throwing themselves at anyone or anything that would even consider bringing harm to their queen. Bred for carnage by the queen herself, the Festering Honor Guard is equipped to aggressively range out from the queen in pursuit of any attackers, and when necessary kill or be killed in her service. To further strike fear and terror in her would-be enemies, Maladrix The Conquerer uses her enemies as “hosts” to prepare and expand her host of Festering Honor Guards, creating awkward situations for the Craven Court’s adversaries when their closest allies suddenly and violently burst apart in front of their eyes to reveal more skittering creatures to bring death upon those who would dare oppose the Craven Court.

PARASITE
For the entire game, if one of your Festering Honor Guard is on a Unique Hero's Army Card at the end of the round, you must roll the 20-sided die for that Hero. If you roll a 17 or higher, destroy that Hero. If a Festering Honor Guard is on a Unique Hero's Army Card when that Hero is destroyed
by this power or a normal attack, special attack, or a leaving engagement attack, place that Festering Honor Guard on a space that Hero occupies, if possible.

MOTHERLESS RAGE
If Queen Maladrax the Conqueror is in your army, when Queen Maladrix is destroyed, you may move any unrevealed Order Markers from Queen Maladrix's Army Card to this card. Festering Honor Guard add 1 to their Attack value if your Queen Maladrix is destroyed.

CLIMB X2
When moving up or down levels of terrain, Festering Honor Guard may double their height.

This is my first book, so if I missed/messed up something, let me know! Specifically, the Synergy Benefits Received section feels like it has some weird wording in it.

Being Relentless, Khosumet can power them up.

As a non-Pirate Unique Squad, the Widow can hire them... though that might be too broad of a category to be worth listing.

Ah thank you, forgot about the Relentless personality! Added Khomeset and Blackgaard Knights to synergies. That’s an interesting point you raise about Widow, not sure how we want to handle that. I think I’d be fine listing it, certain powers have caused units like like Myrddin to be pretty widespread in books already,

Does anyone remember what the Craven Court image was in the Haslab campaign? Is it concept art for a bunch of potential Skordyre heroes and squads? Do you think the 'lava crabs' that were previewed at Gencon could actually be Skordyre stuff, since some of that art has them with pincer claws and similar things?

I believe the Craven Court was the original name for the Nemesis War Brood which is all the skordyre units and the image above is original concept ideas for the faction

What is the rule for a Festering Honor Guard chestbursting out of a figure that was destroyed while on a molten lava space?
Does the bug immediately roll for damage or is it safe?

I believe since it is technically placed on the board it has to roll for it

“If a Festering Honor Guard is on a Unique Hero's Army Card when that Hero is destroyed by this power, or by a normal attack, special attack, or leaving engagement attack, place that Festering Honor Guard on a space that Hero occupied, if possible.”

It doesn’t sound like this can happen normally. ie the hero walks onto the lava and fails the roll. If it were to die in this case, the above conditions are not met for the FHG to be placed. However, if that hero had walked onto the lava, survived the roll, and then died to one of the ability’s listed conditions, I would agree with MegaSilver’s interpretation.

The case I was thinking was an infected Shurrak or Brunak actively standing in lava then being killed.
But I agree that Megasilver's answer makes the most sense.
