Re: The Book of Elastigirl (Helen Parr) - Breathing

NAME = Elastigirl
SECRET IDENTITY = Helen Parr

SPECIES = Superhuman
UNIQUENESS = Unique Hero
CLASS = Crime Fighter
PERSONALITY = Protective

SIZE/HEIGHT = Medium 5

LIFE = 5

MOVE = 7
RANGE = 2
ATTACK = 4
DEFENSE = 6

POINTS = 225

SUPERHUMAN DEVOTION
If a Superhuman you control receives one or more wounds or is destroyed by an opponent's figure, you may place any number of unrevealed Order Markers from its card on this card and immediately move Elastigirl with her Stretch Walk special power. For the rest of the round, when Elastigirl attacks, she may attack one additional time.

ELASTI-WRAP 9
Friendly figures do not take leaving engagement attacks from opponents' small or medium figures that are engaged with Elastigirl. Any time an opponent would begin the movement of an adjacent small or medium figure, you may first roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 9 or higher, the figure may not be moved this turn.

STRETCH WALK 25
Instead of her normal move, Elastigirl may use Stretch Walk. Stretch Walk has a move of 3. When counting spaces for Stretch Walk, ignore elevations. Elastigirl may stretch over water without stopping, stretch over figures without becoming engaged and stretch over obstacles. Elastigirl may not stretch more than 25 levels up or down with a single stretch. When Elastigirl starts to stretch, she will not take any leaving engagement attacks.

Don't forget to link in the Outer Sanctum. :-D

Re: The Book of Elastigirl (Helen Parr) - Breathing

Only thought on the design: Why does she only act devoted when she's not engaged? Especially when the devotion triggers a power that has built in disengagement? Seems like it should trigger whether she's engaged or not?

The basic theme of just trying to hold the bad guys off feels about right for how the character is portrayed.

Re: The Book of Elastigirl (Helen Parr) - Breathing

I think I just copied the unenagaged part from Splinter, which makes sense for the move since he disappeared into the Shadows. Definitely not needed here.

Re: The Book of Elastigirl (Helen Parr) - Breathing

What if we trigger devotion on wounds instead of destruction? I think she'd want to protect the kids as much as possible, instead of acting only once they're knocked out.

Looks good otherwise

Re: The Book of Elastigirl (Helen Parr) - Breathing

I like that idea. That would combo well with Mister Incredible's Heroic Duty too.

Re: The Book of Elastigirl (Helen Parr) - Breathing

I worry that would be too disruptive to gameplay if everytime a Superhuman took a wound she got all the OMs.

Re: The Book of Elastigirl (Helen Parr) - Breathing

Currently it's a "may" power, so you don't have to at all. Just move one to her card to get the double attack bonus, and you don't have to move any more.

Re: The Book of Elastigirl (Helen Parr) - Breathing

That would certainly power her up. On the other hand, sticking with destroyed passively encourages you to take her with weaker, lower costed Superhumans, which seems like a good soft synergy to have.

Re: The Book of Elastigirl (Helen Parr) - Breathing

I mean wounded would still encourage that because Violet and Dash as going to take wounds easier than Mister Incredible will.

SUPERHUMAN DEVOTION
If a Superhuman you control is dealt one or more wounds or destroyed by an opponent's figure, you may place any unrevealed Order Markers from its card on this card and immediately move her with her Stretch Walk special power. For the rest of the round, when Elastigirl attacks, she may attack one additional time.

Something like this?

Re: The Book of Elastigirl (Helen Parr) - Breathing

Yeah, I think that does it. :up: And definitely amps up her activity, which is probably good.

Think I am going to add this so it is a little more clear so you don't have to move all the Order Markers.

Re: The Book of Elastigirl (Helen Parr) - Breathing

Ah, good. I agree that did not read clearly before. :up:

Re: The Book of Elastigirl (Helen Parr) - Breathing

SP updated. I'm getting 230 on the calculator which would be ideal here. If she ends up being more powerful I can trim some points off the kids potentially.

Re: The Book of Elastigirl (Helen Parr) - Breathing

I got 230 exactly as well. :up:

Re: The Book of Elastigirl (Helen Parr) - Breathing

I agree on the move to wounds - I think it makes sense for her to go mama bear if they're hurt in any way, and it'll definitely make her a more dynamic part of the battlefield. Should be fun. :up:

I propose we move to Initial Playtesting here.

Re: The Book of Elastigirl (Helen Parr) - VOTE for Initial

Superhuman Devotion needs to say Elastigirl instead of ‘her’ in the first sentence. Right now it makes it sound like you’re moving the wounded figure... but only if they’re female and have Strech Walk :lol:

Yea
