Character Bio:
Alpha Prime was once a thriving world called Mariedian, but it was changed forever by the discovery that it was possible to place a living soul inside a metal shell. The companies that offered this technology became superpowers, promising immortality in exchange for service. Some, like the Omnicron Corporation, saw becoming a Soulborg as a path that every Mariedian
had the right to choose or not, but the ZETTI Combine had a darker ambition: to forcibly transform the population into ZETTI soldiers and take absolute power on Alpha Prime. And so a civil war began that has raged for thousands of years.

In time, the war reached far beyond Alpha Prime, and the ZETTI Combine established prison colonies on nearby planets like Isadora, where the remaining Mariedians who resisted the Combine were taken. Key to the ZETTI Combine’s space power were orbital stations that hovered just above the atmosphere, deploying support for their ground forces at a moment’s notice.

All too often, Mariedian resistance fighters firing lasers at slow-marching ZETTI legions would see a blaze of fire descend from the smoldering sky as a Deflectatron was deployed into the metal wasteland. After landing on burning jets, the strange metal guardian spun steadily and projected a field of blinding orange light. Lasers fired at the shield glanced off harmlessly, granting the mechanical infantry safe passage as they drew relentlessly closer to the Mariedian frontline.

When the Valkyrie Vydar first summoned Deflectatrons to Valhalla, he was fascinated to hear of this technology, and he set a secret project in motion to establish Heimdall Station in orbit over Valhalla. Vydar has since disappeared, but a twinkling light that travels in Valhalla’s sky tells his followers that he is always watching, and when they most need help, a Deflectatron is quickly sent to their aid.

ORBITAL DEPLOYMENT 3
Figures with the Orbital Deployment Special Power do not start the game on the battlefield. At the start of a round, before placing Order Markers, you may place 1 Deflectatron that has not entered the battlefield on an empty space within 3 clear sight spaces of a friendly figure. You cannot use more than one Orbital Deployment Special Power each round.

PASSIVE
A Deflectatron never makes leaving engagement attacks.

MAGNETIC DEFLECTOR SHIELD
Figures adjacent to one or more Deflectatrons cannot determine clear right to any figures. When a figure adjacent to one or more of your Deflectatrons defends against an attack from a non-adjacent figure, change 1 die result that was not a shield to a shield, if possible. Magnetic Deflector Shield is negated while adjacent to another figure with the Magnetic Deflector Shield Special Power.

Worth noting that while he can trigger Homing Device for your Blastatrons, he would also give your opponent's figures an automatic shield against your Blastatrons, so its not a particularly great synergy, unless you can get another one adjacent so they negate themselves while still triggering Homing Device. Probably not something to really build around.

So, if this negates clear sight, dropping a Deflectatron adjacent to an opponent's hero that has an aura power would negate the aura, right? If Taelord or Raelin can't determine clear sight, then that would mean none of their figures are "within 4 clear sight spaces", as I read it.

Am I missing something?

Correct, the Deflectatron could be used to shut down an aura like Raelin. Also shuts down your own figures auras while adjacent and giving them the shield buff, unless the aura is just based on adjacency, so they definitely work better with some figures than others.

Can you have clear sight on a space?
I believe clarifications did include a way to determine clear sight to an empty space, but also defined a figure being within X clear sight spaces as involving being able to see any part of the figure, not just hit zones.

There is no such thing as clear sight to a space. Clear sight is defined in terms of figures.

As I said I think they errata'd in a way to determine clear sight to an empty space, something about placing a wound marker on the space and if you can see the marker you have clear sight to the space. However that is an empty space, so does not change the definition of determining a clear sight to a figure. So I don't think it affects any existing rules interaction and it likely future proofing for some upcoming ability that applies to spaces in some way.

Huh, just realized that both Tul-Bak-Ra and the Mind Flayer are Deflectatron-proof due to their special attacks.

EDIT: Never mind, I guess engagement still applies, duh!
