The Book of Cybermen

Re: The Book of Cybermen (VOTE for Final Editing)

Thanks Ronin! Generally agree with the analysis. In a vacuum, they're providing a lot of firepower, but it's really hard to be a single mother in this cold, cold world. non-bonding squad in the C3G metagame.

I'd like to call a VOTE for Final Editing at 120.

yea

Re: The Book of Cybermen (Final Editing)

This passes. Two quick thoughts;

The figure that A3n took pics of isn't super-available, and it would probably take considerable effort to get multiple squads worth. However, similar to the Daleks, there's a lot of alternative options to get Cyberman figures. I put a little post here showing off a cheap assembly-required alternative, and there's also some 3D printing options, etc. Are we okay with using the Character Options figure A3n provided as the "official" figure, or do we want to swap to the cheaper option? (Would probably put this on hold to give me time to buy it and paint it up.) I personally like the one we already have pics for, but if that's unacceptable I can roll the other way too.

For backgrounds, I threw up some generic space hallways, but I thought it could possibly be cool to lean into the DW tendency towards tourism and use a famous British landmark as a background. Trafalgar Square, London Eye, something like that. Any thoughts?

Re: The Book of Cybermen (Final Editing)

No real preference on the figure. I will probably get the ones you linked and paint them up.

Re: The Book of Cybermen (Final Editing)

I have no problem with using somewhat rare miniatures on the card, and assuming they're pre-painted and pre-assembled, would probably lean in that direction for the "official" ones. But no strong preference, really.

Re: The Book of Cybermen (Final Editing)

Edits:

When a Cyberman figure you control would inflicts one or more wounds on an adjacent Unique Hero without the Electrically Charged special power with its normal attack, you may roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 16 or higher, you may remove one unrevealed Order Marker at random from that Unique Hero's Army Card. Figures with the Electrically charged special power are not affected by Electro-Touch.

Plaintext:

Alternative solution to breaking up the weird "without X with Y" thing would be something like:

When a Unique Hero without the Electrically Charged special power receives one or more wounds from an adjacent Cyberman's normal attack, roll the 20-sided die.

But I don't like the passive voice there.

Main points are breaking that up, making sure you're only rolling against UHs, and just saying Cyberman instead of "Cybermen figure you control".

Thanks! I am trying to piece together how the finer points of wording, so thanks for spelling it out a bit.

Should be ready for carding!

Re: The Book of Cybermen (VOTE for On Deck)

I honestly don't remember the last time I didn't have to shrink the text for the powers so this was a nice change :)

We have to shrink so often that when we use the default it almost looks too huge at first.

quick question...are there other Emotionless Cyborgs?

Yep agree it looked too big at first.

That is a future synergy tag for other Cybermen, none currently exisit.
