Character Bio - The Cybermen hail from Earth's hidden twin planet Mondas where they...The Cybermen were created by the nefarious Cybus Industries on a parallel world to...The Cybermen first appeared on a spaceship hurtling away from a blackhole that...

The Cybermen are one of the inevitable conclusions of the universe. A perfect representation of the idea that humankind, in their desperate scramble for survival, might one day throw aside everything that made them human in the first place. No matter their origin, all Cybermen share two common traits; a cold emotionless husk of a brain, and an unwavering belief that all of reality would be better if it just became like them.

PERSONALITY = EMOTIONLESS

SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5

LIFE = 1

MOVE = 4

ELECTRO-TOUCH 16
When a Cyberman inflicts one or more wounds on an adjacent Unique Hero with its normal attack, you may roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 16 or higher, you may remove one unrevealed Order Marker at random from that Unique Hero's Army Card. Figures with the Electrically Charged special power are not affected by Electro-Touch.

CYBER LEGION
Instead of attacking with the Cybermen you moved this turn, you may attack with any 3 Emotionless Cyborgs you control.

SUPER STRENGTH

Cyber Legion is a cool power. Is that really not a mechanic we've used before?

We have something similar on Civilians, but it's different.

If we have used the mechanic before, I can always just change the references to Cybermen into references to Emotionless Cyborgs.

Since I now the Character Options figure is a little rare for a squad figure, the people who make the Doctor Who Miniatures Game sell the individual sprues for the Cybermen (and Daleks) from that game. They are 40mm figures, so a little bit taller than the typical Scape/Clix figure. But if you're like me and don't particularly mind scale in your stompy robot men, or doing some painting and assembling, I think they might be the way to go.

Re: The Book of Cybermen (Breathing)

Not that it would happen every game, but removing 3 OM's at once seems problematic. definitely pair them up with initiative boosters and give them OM1.

Works for me.
One of these days... :p

I'll look into if for you

All fixed. Links were wrong.
Thanks!

Definitely something I'm keeping an eye on. The Hulkbuster Soldiers have a similar thing going on, but they have that high D20 roll. If it's coming in too strong, I have a few other ideas for handling the power. I don't really care about the specifics of the mechanics, as long as it captures the zappy taser hand theme.

Re: The Book of Cybermen (Breathing)

The effect of this SA is basically identical to Taser Strike SA.

TASER STRIKE SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 1. Attack 5.
If an opponent's figure would receive one or more wounds from this special attack, you may choose not to inflict those wounds and remove an Order Marker at random from that figure's card. Figures with the Electrically Charged special power are not affected by this special attack.

Re: The Book of Cybermen (Breathing)

Electro touch is too powerful with 6 attacks each turn (provided proper placement). Definitely want to see a d20 roll or something with a power like this on a common squad.

Also pretty sure we’ve used Cyber Legion somewhere else but can’t think of it. :p

Re: The Book of Cybermen (Breathing)

Goal with Cyber Legion is to get 3 attacks per turn. Maybe that doesn’t shine through on the wording; I based it on the wording on the Civilians, but I left out the “instead of attacking normally” cause I want to be clear you can use both the normal attack and SA when attacking with Cyber Legion.

Re: The Book of Cybermen (Breathing)

I thought cyber legion said after attacking, sorry!

No need for “instead of attacking normally.” Wolves of Badru have SAs, along with the Dead Onez

Re: The Book of Cybermen (Breathing)

Special powers and special attacks: Many figures have special powers or abilities that help them move, attack, defend, and more. Check your figure's Army Card to see what special powers or abilities (if any) your figure can use. If your Army Card includes a special attack (a special power with the words ""special attack"" in the name), you may use this attack instead of a normal attack. Page # explains special powers and special attacks.

Rules are a little unclear on this, but yeah, we might want to avoid "attacking normally" in there, since that might imply it's not a "normal attack" to be replaced. But I think in C3G land you can use an SA, even with an out of turn attack - like, if a figure says "Instead of moving with Guy, you may attack with Lady." and Lady has an SA, Lady can use it. Right?

Re: The Book of Cybermen (Breathing)

I'd honestly just cut the first line...but that really just gives you Taser Strike SA :p

Re: The Book of Cybermen (Breathing)

Could you just make it a special power so it is part of their normal attack?

Re: The Book of Cybermen (Breathing)

ELECTRO-TOUCH
If a Cybermen figure you control inflicts one or more wounds on an adjacent figure without the Electrically Charged special power, you may choose not to inflict those wounds and remove an Order Marker at random from that figure's card instead.

Good idea! How's that look?

Should be more like that, but otherwise good.

Re: The Book of Cybermen (VOTE for Initial)

I can dig it. Updated. I'll still definitely be keeping an eye on the power in testing.

Looked in the index and couldn't find Cyber Legion under any other name. We have the Civilians' Crowd Movement, which is based on the Classic Zombies' Horde Movement, but Cyber Legion is pretty distinct in that it doesn't allow you to move an even bigger group of figures.

Let's send these guys off to Initial.
