Promo Text: Breach has a big sword, a big stride, and a big swing. Whether controlled by Talingul's sorcery or left to his own machinations, he mostly follows the same playbook. Wade through a crowd, step by step, and start swinging.

Character Bio:

Left, right. Left, right. Swing the blade. Survivors. Swing the blade. No survivors.

Left, right. Left, right. Over the rabble. Blades and strikes rattle off armored legs. Care not. Breach the wall, Breach the line.

Large enemy. Dragon. A gout of flame. Left arm rises. Flames lick over the hand. Untouched metal. Not hot enough.

Engage enemy. Swing the blade. Swing the blade. Swing the blade. Left hand, grab enemy horns. Swing the blade. Enemy still.

Left, right. Left, right. Humanoid obstructions noted. Humanoid obstructions passed. Breach the wall, Breach the line.

SPECIAL POWERS
  • SCIMITAR SWEEP SPECIAL ATTACK
    Range 1. Attack 4.
Choose a figure adjacent to Breach. You may also choose another figure adjacent to Breach to be affected by Scimitar Sweep Special Attack. All figures adjacent to Breach between the chosen figures in a counterclockwise direction are also affected by Scimitar Sweep Special Attack. Roll attack dice once for all affected figures. Each figure rolls defense dice separately.
  • IRON TOUGH
When rolling defense dice against a special attack, Breach always adds 2 automatic shields to whatever is rolled.
  • LONG STRIDES
Breach can move through all small and medium figures.

Rulings and Clarifications-
  • Q: Can Breach attack a single figure with Scimitar Sweep Special Attack?
A: Yes. In that case, there would be no second figure chosen, and no other figures would be affected.
  • Q: When hitting multiple figures with Scimitar Sweep Special Attack, in what order do the defenders roll dice?
A: Similar to Mimring's Fire Line Special Attack, there is a predetermined order that the defenders roll defense dice. The first to roll defense is the first figure chosen for the attack. Then roll defense dice for each figure in turn in a counterclockwise direction around Breach, ending with the second figure chosen.
  • Q: If Breach chooses two figures on the same ladder for Scimitar Sweep Special Attack, does the attack also affect all other adjacent figures?
A: No. The two figures are in the same "space," and thus there is nothing between them in an arc.

-Combinations and Synergies-

Synergy Benefits Received
  • TALINGUL: MASTER OF GREAT CONSTRUCTS: As a Huge Construct Hero, Breach may benefit from Talingul's Master of Great Constructs by taking a turn along with one other Large/Huge Construct Hero instead of Talingul.

Synergy Benefits Offered
  • None

Synergy Imposed
  • None

The C3V Rules Team would like to add the following R&Cs:
Q: Can Breach attack a single figure with Scimitar Sweep Special Attack?
A: Yes. In that case, there would be no second figure chosen, and no other figures would be affected.

A: No. The two figures are in the same "space," and thus there is nothing between them in an arc.

Couple of variances between transcript and army card:

  • SCIMITAR SWEEP SEPECIAL SPECIAL ATTACK
    Range 1. Attack 4.

All figures adjacent to Breach between the chosen figures in a counterclockwise direction are also affected by Scimitar Sweep Special Attack. Roll attack dice once for all affected figures. When rolling defense dice against a special attack, this Breach always adds 2 automatic shields to whatever is rolled.

Why is the "counterclockwise direction" added? Why does it matter?

Why is the "counterclockwise direction" added? Why does it matter?
It can matter if there are figures like Raelin in the mix. Normally the attacker gets the choose the order figures are affected. But some powers, like Mimring's Fire Line, have ordering to how figures are affected. We decided that this should be a case where ordering matters.

I might be overthinking this, but how does Long Strides and leaving engagement attacks work?

If Breach is engaged with a figure then moves through it, I assume there is no attack, but just want to make sure.

Or, if Breach is engaged with 2 figures, in the center of a three line hex, then moves through the one on the left, breaking the engagement with the one on the right, that would result in a free attack?.

Great Hero!

Nope, Breach takes a bunch of leaving engagement attacks. It's just a tactical option, but like most things in classic scape land you're going to risk a lot of wounds and getting destroyed.
So do you get a leaving engagement attack from a figure you moved through even if spaces before and after you stay engaged?

Moving through a single figure doesnt break engagement. Treat it like ghost walk (agent carr). The description above described a situation where engagement actually breaks (moving through a bunch of figures).

The take away is that long strides doesnt have wording from the Disengage power, it diesnt prevent LEAs so you just take them because the default rule is not being mitigated with a power.

If a single-spaced figure like Agent Carr moves through a figure, he does leave engagement with the figure as he moves into it and moves into engagement when he leaves it. That's because engagement is only defined for adjacent figures; figures in the same space are not technically adjacent and therefore not engaged.

Breach, however, is double-spaced. As long as he is moving through a single-spaced figure, there will always be part of him that is adjacent to the figure. So he will not take a leaving engagement attack while moving through it.

Interesting. Thanks.
