The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure from the DC 75th Anniversary set.
Its model number and name are #055 / Beast Boy (T-Rex Form).
_________________________________________________________________
Character Bio - Beast Boy has the ability to morph into any animal that he has seen himself or has seen in an illustration [...] These transformations take only a second and Beast Boy has demonstrated that he is capable of rapidly changing his form with little or no effort expended. [One such form is that of a Tyrannosaurus Rex]. Tyrannosaurus rex was one of the largest land carnivores of all time [...] Tyrannosaur teeth could crush bone, and therefore could extract as much food (bone marrow) as possible from carcass remnants, usually the least nutritious parts.” (Wikipedia.org, 2012).

-Rulings and Clarifications-
  • Base Clarification: Beast Boy (T-Rex) is a double based figure.
  • Q: If Beast Boy (T-Rex) sustains 1 wound from a previous attack and later is destroyed (activating Beast Forms from Beast Boy), should the first wound be removed from this card?
  • A: No. The Beast Forms special power on the Metahuman Beast Boy's card only states that if any other Gar Logan figure should be destroyed you place 2 wounds on the Metahuman's card and replace the figure with another Gar Logan figure. This card would still have the first initial wound marker on it.

Before attacking, you may choose one figure adjacent to this Beast Boy. If the chosen figure is a Squad figure, destroy it. Otherwise, roll the 20-sided die. Subtract 2 from the roll if the chosen figure has Super Strength. If you roll 16 or higher, the chosen figure receives 2 wounds.

Before attacking, choose one medium or small figure without Super Strength adjacent to this Beast Boy. If the chosen figure is a Squad figure, destroy it. If the chosen figure is a Hero figure, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 16 or higher, destroy the chosen Hero.

Can we give Super Strength Heroes a chance of taking damage at least? This is a T-Rex after all.

If the chosen figure is a Hero figure, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 16 or higher, and the chosen Hero does not have Super Strength, destroy the chosen Hero it. Chosen Heroes with Super Strength receive one wound instead of being destroyed by Dino-Chomp.

Re: The Book of Beast Boy (T-Rex) - Design Phase

I like that too. But why only one wound? Let's go 2 or 3. Probably 2, but, seriously, let's make it count.

Re: The Book of Beast Boy (T-Rex) - Design Phase

That's going to suck to have Wolverine, Flash, Deathstroke or Professor X get auto-killed by a 45 point figure, or even by it plus the cost of Gar. Isn't that something we didn't like about mixing classic with C3G where cheap units can auto-kill expensive units?

Re: The Book of Beast Boy (T-Rex) - Design Phase

Good point. You know what, why not make this even simpler?

That sounds even better.

I think that makes the design cost too much.

Good point. I agree.

Too many wounds. I think 2 wounds at the most. Otherwise, the cost on this guy is going to go up and up.

Re: The Book of Beast Boy (T-Rex) - Design Phase

I can go with 2. Should we keep the D20 roll at 16+ with -2 for SS?

Re: The Book of Beast Boy (T-Rex) - Design Phase

I liked all of that, yeah.

Re: The Book of Beast Boy (T-Rex) - Design Phase

Groovy, sounds like a plan

Re: The Book of Beast Boy (T-Rex) - Design Phase

Comics are all cartoons except one.

Re: The Book of Beast Boy (T-Rex) - Design Phase

Can we get a clarification in the OP that this is a double spaced figure? We design so few of those that I like having the clarification in case people find proxies.

Have we designed a Huge sized figure that's not? Ever?

Surtur is a single spaced Huge sized figure. :D

Though he's not "officially" designed since he's not released yet or even On Deck. But he will be a single space Huge figure

Re: The Book of Beast Boy (T-Rex) - Design Phase

Fair enough. Trigon will be either Large or Huge as well, and The Watcher will be huge, and both are single spacers. So I guess the clarification is needed here. I'll take a look at Ghost Rider again and update in a bit. :)

Re: The Book of Beast Boy (T-Rex) - Design Phase

Then I guess Sentinels need to have that clarification added also. :)

Re: The Book of Beast Boy (T-Rex) - Design Phase

Heh, I know, right? At least with them I think everyone pretty much assumes they're double based.

Anti-Monitor too! And Master Mold.

Re: The Book of Beast Boy (T-Rex) - Design Phase

I just think the Base Clarification is simple enough to put into each of the Books to clarify where there is a double base (or where people would assume there is a double base and there isn't like with Ghost Rider). It shows the extra thought for our community.

Re: The Book of Beast Boy (T-Rex) - Design Phase

I agree. I'm just hassling you. I think it's a good thing to do moving forward. Speaking of, did we do this for Surtur?
