Character Bio - Atlantis is an advanced civilization with a unique understanding of the Earth's oceans. Much could be gained from peaceful sharing of knowledge between their culture and that of the surface dwellers. Unfortunately, peace can be hard for Atlantis to maintain. Its precarious position as an undersea culture breeds constant conflicts both internal and external. The rulers of Atlantis know that a strong, loyal guard is vital to keeping the peace and maintaining order. (By Ronin)

Nice!

This is all I got for em, photo wise:
Spoiler Alert!

Don't have any others - I imagine the other angles I took must have come out crappy.

Re: The Book of Atlantean Palace Guards (Breathing Period)

Other than some subject/verb agreement errors to clean up, it's looking good. :)

For Protect the Throne do we really want to go friendly or should it be one that you control? It'll only matter in team games (so probably 4+) but I think I like it better if the same person has to take the guards and the King/Queen to get the bonus.

Not hugely important to me, since I never play with such numbers, but I thought it was worth consideration.

First sentence should probably read like this for a squad.

Re: The Book of Atlantean Palace Guards (Breathing Period)

No new comments. I appreciate lifting the limit on the defense power. Might want to tag the CRB sooner rather than later.

Anyone else have a preference on this? As I really don't.

Either way, I went ahead and updated the SP with some wording changes (hopefully for the better).
@dok @Soundwarp SG-1 @Dysole @weebaer, thoughts/worries?

Re: The Book of Atlantean Palace Guards (Breathing Period)

It's pretty minor but it makes sense that it should be the same player.

Re: The Book of Atlantean Palace Guards (Breathing Period)

I think it should just be cards you control. If you are playing a part of a team and draft this Unique Squad you should be the one to draft the King & Queen anyway. One team is team Atlantis, then the other team can be something else entirely that complements it well.

Re: The Book of Atlantean Palace Guards (Breathing Period)

It's really minor but, in a multiplayer game, you could get +6 Defense (or like +12 if you get tricky with placement) by stacking squads. Fine either way on how we cap that (whether it's a "you control" thing or just a +4 maximum).

Overall looks good. Are these supposed to be DC or Marvel Atlanteans? The art looks Marvel but the figure posted is DC.

Re: The Book of Atlantean Palace Guards (Breathing Period)

Okay, I'll update the SP with you control requirements hopefully this evening.

Johnny, they are supposed to be DC Atlanteans, the OP art looked DC to me, but I could be wrong...

Re: The Book of Atlantean Palace Guards (Breathing Period)

The url for the OP image claims that it's from Blackest Night, so I think we're all good.

(They also don't really look like Marvel Atlanteans to me - the Marvel ones are usually showing off a lot of blue skin)

Re: The Book of Atlantean Palace Guards (Breathing Period)

The art is from Blackest Night, so definitely DC Atlanteans.

Re: The Book of Atlantean Palace Guards (Breathing Period)

YEA

HA...There's no real reason to tag Ronin anymore...he lives here. He usually votes before my screen even refreshes to show my post...

Re: The Book of Atlantean Palace Guards (Vote for Initial)

Yea
And I agree with @japes! @Ronin, get a life! :stupid: He said it, I just agreed.

I didn't say that...He has a Life that he enjoys...not my place to crap on his picnic...

It was just a joke! (Based on his response, I think he took it that way.)

@Ronin I feel you on the Unemployment. I had left C3G for a while back in 2012, but then I got let go and was out of work for about 4 months. C3G and Fantasy Football (and job hunting) kept me sane during that time.

Oh I know...

Also remember I was unable to work for 9 months recently...Having this place to come to and feel like I had some purpose helped me survive my own mental state...

Re: The Book of Atlantean Palace Guards (Vote for Initial)

Yea

And yup, looks like the pic is DC. They looked blue at a glance, which I how I always tell the universes apart.
