_________________________________________________________________
Character Bio - Armor (Hisako Ichiki) is a teenage mutant student at the Xavier Institute who becomes an X-Man. She can create a psionic forcefield around her, giving her enhanced durability and strength. Hisako's psionic armor acts as an extension of (although can be much larger than) her own body, which enhances her strength level and resistance to injury. While using her armor, Hisako has demonstrated the ability to hurl Wolverine and even assisted Colossus in restraining a small ship capable of breaking orbit from lifting off. (ComicVine, 2011)

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

NAME = ARMOR
SECRET IDENTITY = HISAKO ICHIKI

SPECIES = MUTANT
UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO
CLASS = STUDENT
PERSONALITY = INSECURE

SIZE/HEIGHT = LARGE 6

LIFE = 3

MOVE = 5
RANGE = 1
ATTACK = 4
DEFENSE = 4

POINTS = 100

MUTANT SIDEKICK
After revealing an Order Marker on the Army Card of a Unique Mutant Hero you control and taking a turn with that Mutant, if Armor is within 6 clear sight spaces of that Mutant, you may take an immediate turn with Armor, and you may not take any additional turns with other figures you control.

PSIONIC ARMOR
When Armor defends against an attack, each shield rolled counts for an additional block, unless the attacking figure is a Telepath or has the Sensory Assault special power. Armor's Defense number cannot be reduced by any special power.

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

I don't know anything about her, but this looks like a nice design Tickle.

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

She's fairly simple. I would compare her to Jubilee. While she was an X-Man for a time period, she never really developed much on her own and always teamed up with someone like Wolverine or Colossus. Her only real power is her Armor which gives her tremendous strength. She's pretty defensive about it using her armor and doesn't like to harm people much so I gave her a solid attack, but not a powerful one.

Hopefully that helps you understand what I'm trying to accomplish here. Any questions?

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

Looks cool to me! I don't know about "unfortunate" as a personality, though ...

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

That's Unfortunate.

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

How about Hapless or Wretched?

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

Simple and elegant design. C3G needs this design. Thanks.

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

Looks straight forward enough. I don't know the character.

Question though, is "Mutant card" the correct usage? It seems strange to me that the card would be mutant.

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

That's how it's worded on Jubilee's card. I just use precedents to model my wording after.

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

I think you've got an excellent start tickle. Just reading on wiki:

She can also cause her armor to release a large amount of solid, concussive energy at once, but it may be difficult to perform. However, her armor is vulnerable to lasers, which are able to pass through it and harm her. This vulnerability is explained when she states later that her armor still has to let light through.[14]
Adamantium is also able to pierce through Hisako's armor, such as Wolverine's claws, although he is not able to go through it with the rest of his body.[15] In this case, she only remained uninjured because the distance between her armor's perimeter and her body was slightly greater than the length of Wolverine's claws. Her armor was also breached by The Fury, however this may be due to the Fury's abilities to counter-act mutant abilities. To some extent, she can shape her armor, such as her ability to form Wolverine-like claws and make them extend outward. In instances of extreme duress, Hisako is also able to expand her armor, greatly increasing its size and shape around her, though her own body remains the same at its center.

- That first part sounds like a special attack, could leave off since you want to keep her simple

It seems like her armor has a few different weaknesses, but overall should be really tough.
- Lasers (energy constructs? Dr. Light?)
- Adamantium (already covered with -2 defense)

- If the mini is fairly large compared to other figures (which I don't know for sure) it would be nice to give her Large 6 since she can expand her size

Overall looks really good, just a few things to consider. One change I think you should make is to give her Life 3 and Defense 4 or 5. Her armor should be pretty tough. Right now it's way outclassed by Blubber.

We just released Jubilee with the exact same wording. Although she probably should have had a more thorough read (my bad :oops:), but she was pushed out the door in place of a different mutant.

Tickle :ninja:'d

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

Mutant Sidekick was a direct pickup of Vigilante Sidekick wording, subbing out Vigilante for Mutant. That's where it originated anyhow.

Her defense can't be reduced. But I figured it would be easy enough for her to expand her armor enough to where Wolverine's claws couldn't reach her skin. I could add a phrase allowing figures with the Sensory Assault special power to bypass her defenses.

I'd be fine with changing her life and defense to make her armor tougher. Though then she has more of a venerability to auto-wounding power.

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

Also, I think Insecure would be a good personality for Armor. Any objections?

I really think it makes sense for her though. Shows her reliance on the armor for protection versus her own constitution which should be low because she's a kid, much like the Titans.

Any thoughts on size Large?

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

I'm OK with making her Large. The figure is quite big, easily Medium 6.

So this is what we are looking at:
Spoiler Alert!

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

Massive :ninja: - I'm in favor of Insecure.

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

If you wanted to represent her ability to shoot psionic blasts you could up her range to like 3. Not a deal breaker though.

Otherwise I think it looks good. :thumbsup:

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

That's interesting, I might do that to increase her chance of getting an activation.

Re: The Book of Armor - Design

This is what I am looking at for after the breathing period:

NAME = Armor

SECRET IDENTITY = Hisako Ichiki

SPECIES = Mutant
UNIQUENESS = Unique Hero
CLASS = Sidekick
PERSONALITY = Insecure

SIZE/HEIGHT = Large 6

LIFE = 3

MOVE = 5
RANGE = 3
ATTACK = 4
DEFENSE = 5

POINTS = 90?

MUTANT SIDEKICK
After revealing an Order Marker on a Mutant card you control and taking a turn with that Mutant, if Armor is within 6 clear sight spaces of that Mutant, you may take an immediate turn with Armor. You may not take any additional turns with other Sidekicks you control.

PSIONIC ARMOR
When defending with Armor against a figure that is not a Telepath and does not have the Sensory Assault special power, each shield rolled counts for one additional block. Armor's defense number cannot be reduced by any special power.
