-Rulings and Clarifications-
  • The 'S' symbol.
The 'S' symbol in the lower left-hand corner of the card signifies this figure has Superstrength. A figure with Superstrength is immune to Falling and Major Falling; the figure is not immune to Extreme Falling however. A figure with Superstrength is also able to ignore any abilities a destructible object has that would give it automatic shields. (Firemaster)

(My :2cents: may change when I get the figure)

Abomination-Wicked stats. Could kill the best of them. A great addition to any big battle army. A

I think I'd rather splurge the extra fifty points for Hulk, but I don't think I'll pick either of them all that much unless I'm not facing down much range or my opponent hasn't taken many insta-death dealers.

With Super Leap, though, Abomination can get engaged with any ranged figures in one move (no one has range higher than his 10 move, at least not w/o glyph/flagbearer enhancement). Sure his first attack is only 4, but he follows that up with an area attack or an attack of 7 on a single figure, and he has 6 defense and 8 life to hold up pretty well in melee.

I can just imagine, Deadeye Dan on a mountainside, hired to take out Abomination. He fires, missing slightly. Abomination looks over and makes a GIANT leap, landing right next to Dan, and punching him a mile.

Cooooool.

:pity: for Deadeye Dan for dying such a horrid death  NOT!!! I don't feel sorry for Deadeye Dan, go Abomination!

Trouble is Abomination or Hulk are stuck once they get engaged....sure they can dish out the pain, but after a while they are going down if they get swarmed. Thanos and Silver Surfer can avoid that fate a bit more by striking from range or disengaging (in the case of Surfer).

Stomp is the anti swarm though, seeing as most swarm troops have defenses low enough to fall fairly quickly to an attack of 3. This guy could wipe out six Venocs in a single attack. Plus it's a special attack, so it bypasses special defenses like Counterstrike or the one shield defense of the Warriors of Ashra.

If you're going to bring a melee common against superheroes, I think you could do a lot worse than the Knights of Weston. With 4 defense and no special attack weakness, they won't get mown down too reliably by shield throw or stomp. Coward's Reward will actually be a factor.

Maybe there's a good Knights-Knights-Finn-Thorgrim army that uses Captain America and Iron Man. Defense spirit for Cap's counterstrike and attack spirit for Tony's double attacks. Add in Theracus to get things moving in the early game and it's an even 800.

Abomination is great to use to engage character's that cannot leap or fly (Captain America, I'm looking at you) while someone else like Dr. Doom snipes them from a distance.

Abomination is a beast as he should be. He can go toe to toe with anyone in the game...and win.

What hurts Hulk and Abomination is Cyberclaw. Seen it first hand and it destroys their effectiveness. A stomp won't stop the Gladiatrons from coming with the Blastatrons movement bonding.

I just wish that they gave abomination another power seperate from the hulk. Sure they are the same and I don't know much about Abomination. But It just feels that they half assed it when making him.

Shouldn't his book be updated with the synergies to C3G and stuff? I mean I can think of one off the top of my head Strength in Numbers with Human Civilians and whatnot...

C3G certainly mixes Hasbro Marvel into our games, but we try not to impose our "Custom" group on the Hasbro Game or purists who don't want to play with our customs or any customs.

Ah I see I only asked because the official classic books include synergy's with the C3V and SOV units or at least I thought they did.

FAQ: If Abomination Super Leaps from one side of a figure to another, is he attacked for leaving an engagement?

FAQ: If Abomination Super Leaps from one side of a figure to another, is he attacked for leaving an engagement?

Yes. Just the same as if you flew over the figure back into engagement.
