TGRF's HeroScape AI Wallpapers

TGRF

He should definitely get that. (#4)
Greetings, readers and artists. The age of AI art is here. Wanted or not, it's arrived, and it's only getting better. I personally see AI as a tool, and as such, have no qualms about using it to its fullest potential. For example, Midjourney - an AI program created to generate art and photographs - has helped me in imagining characters for my stories, and putting a face to the descriptions and stakes. This is no different for fan fiction. I've used Midjourney to create representations of certain HeroScape characters, all in a convenient 16x9 resolution, and I thought I would share them here. More will come as I generate them. The pictures I have so far made, and more relevant details, are below.

Pretty cool. While AI is the bane of highly talented artists, for mediocre artists like me it can do a lot of heavy lifting. I've considered using it to create sketch-like pieces that match the style of the iconic pictures that appear in Thormun's Journals.

It does that pretty well. 'A pencil sketch' parameter usually gets the job done, at least with Midjourney.

Raelin has been added, complete with Ticalla background. I initially tried to copy her armor design, with a blue helmet. However, the blue looked so out of place with the rest of her armor, that I decided to scrap it. A little creative license was taken.

Sgt. Drake has been added. Obviously there is no grapple arm - I knew getting Midjourney to understand what I was talking about would be virtually impossible. Fortunately, due to Drake's angle, you can pretend that the grapple arm is there, but simply out of view.

For some reason I always picture Drake as being older than the AI made him (I pictured a gruff older Sgt.). But, I guess the old HS wallpaper from back in the day does make him look younger.

Yes, for some reason Midjourney likes to make people young. Raelin looked like a teenager initially. There is probably an 'aging AI' out there, but I haven't looked yet.

Originally, I was going to comment that Raelin looked like a teenager (maybe early 20s at best), but then figured that it was unlikely that Kyrie would age at the same rate as humans, so she could be hundreds of years old and still look to be in her 20s ;)

Sonlen has finally arrived. I had an unbelievable number of issues getting this one to come out right. Midjourney insisted on giving Sonlen facial hair, giving him a vaguely stoned expression, having him wear leather armor, putting the staff on his back, draining all color from the image, making him 60 years old (or 20), and turning the dragon into anything from a gremlin to a chicken (yes, literally). I finally had to forgo the photo style, since it insisted Sonlen must be old and look more like a villain than a hero.

Whew. The dragon still isn't how I'd like it, but at this point I'll take it.

I do not plan on attempting Q10, as I know from past experience that MJ has no idea what a soulborg is supposed to look like.

Raelin looks like an adult to me. Early to mid 20s. You're saying she originally came out looking like a teenager?

EDIT: That image of an Einar Imperium could inspire its own fanfic about those guys. Maybe I'll do one for the fanfic contest at some point.

Yes, she was originally much younger. The Imperium image is a complete anomoly - MJ doesn't seem to understand what 'tan' skin looks like - I cannot recreate it lol.

It's perfect

A minion of Utgar has joined the AI ranks. Midjourney flat out refuses to make anything with red skin - I guess it can't wrap its programming around any concept even remotely non-human. Thus, I had to tweak the skin color in Photoshop. The results are... passable.

Moriko has arrived. (Why Moriko? She's an underused figure. I like her ability.) My attempts to correctly replicate Moriko's clothing were - obviously - unsuccessful. Apparently, she can be wearing either a dark shirt or a green vest, but not both at once. So I went with the more ninja-esque option. Additionally, while creating the picture, I somehow got mixed up and thought Shiori's backstory was for Moriko, hence why Moriko appears so young.

Originally, this picture was meant for a fan fiction centered on Moriko, taking place in the Ticalla swamp (hence the background). That story definitely has some potential, but at this time, I do not plan on moving forward with it.

Enjoy!
