Super Hero City AKA Japes's Custom Crap

Re: Super Hero City

Just need printerstudio to create a public gallery like artscow does. They have much better prices and so far quality has been equal to or better than the older ones I did at artscow.

Just checked them out for the first time. I like their prices a lot better ... Are you just using the standard quality prints? At those prices I'd strongly consider moving on to some spiffier cards ...

I have about 600 rectangle cards figures and glyphs...total cost less than $70. But yeah I started from zero so it was easier. I have never printed a hex card and even recreated the official Marvel cards so I don't even use the Hex cards that came with the game anymore.

Yep, when I first got started w/ C3G I was just out of college and wanted to minimize costs as much as possible. I printed Mathguy's cards and then made a MS Word template for any extra cards I wanted to do. So I've never really used the Hex cards either.

Re: Super Hero City

When I first got started with C3G, I didn't know who mathguy was yet. :p

Re: Super Hero City

I just use the baseline standard playing cards. The upgraded linen texture ruins the images and makes reading smaller text harder. I dream about the plastic card version but can't justify the cost upgrade when the standard turns out so nice.

LOL! Neither did I. I spent many of my early days spinning around in circles reading through ancient threads before I finally figured it out. At first, I was printing off the SP of figures onto cardstock ... and most of my miniatures were proxies from the Classic Marvel RPG fold-up figures books. Haha. Those were the days.

Cool. Thanks for the info japes. :)

Re: Super Hero City

Yeah, if what you sent me was "standard," japes, "make mine standard!" They're definitely very nice. :)

Re: Super Hero City

If enough people keep asking I may have to make a bulk purchase. I need to check how many sets I need to order to get a discount.

Let me know what you find out. I have everything of Mathguy's printed and sleeved, but I would like nicer versions.

We still use those for civilians, HYDRA and AIM agents, Kree, Skrulls, SHIELD Agents 5th Precinct and ... MODOK. We use to use a ton of them but as we get new figures we phase out the paper ones.

Yes they were. The plastic ones are more of a wishful thinking...Like one day I decided to play the lottery and I win and decide to live on an island and play heroscape on a beach so I want plastic cards kind of thing.

Re: Super Hero City

@Gurei-Ornery, @Hellfire, @Porkins

For up to 15 copies of a deck of 234 cards (the Max size) it would come out to about $30 per deck and about $20 for a deck of 144 and that includes shipping from my house to yours in US.

I think for everything it would take 2x234 card deck (Max size) + 1x144 sized deck which would be about $80. So essentially I would need 4 people to want this to reach magic number to reduce shipping charges.

Re: Super Hero City

Man, that sand and salt water spray would really warp your hexes. :p

Re: Super Hero City

Hmm...I wouldn't want EVERYTHING. I would want a customizable deck.

Re: Super Hero City

As long as it wasn't too much work for me the only thing that matters is reaching the $350 total mark for the discount.

Re: Super Hero City

$20 for a deck of 144 cards? If I could choose the 144 cards I may get in on that. Narrowing down my most played list to 144 cards might be a challenge though.

Re: Super Hero City

Hmmmm....could I throw some HoSS cards into the mix? Mathguy has already done some up.

Re: Super Hero City

@japes Count me in then! I literally only have World's Finest printed and then the original cards. Though I love how the hex fit with the game, being able to carry around playing cards sounds much better!

Spidey shipping to you would be easy...once my arm heals I could probably throw them to you. Portability, access and storage is key for us. My 1st grader likes to lug the binder around the house and have me read cards to him. As a penmenship exercise I once had him go through the book and make a list of the figures he wanted.

Yoda, I really want to get into the Star Wars world but that is a whole new world and would be an expense I can't get into yet. I use to love the Star Wars Battlefront game and I envision quite often lately a Heroscape version of that but it would mean lots of purchase of troopers and rebels and droids.

For the record...since this was for myself I have only created the comic version.

Sounds like I need to get working on finishing off these cards. I have a few stragglers I need to go back and pick up as well as finishing off the latest release.

Re: Super Hero City

Just did a quick count...so released figures + glyhps + (additional) 4x14 Uncommon Heros = 652

2x234 + 1x180 = 648 so we can probably do with a few less uncommons for some

180 card decks are $2 more than the 144 card deck at this rate so essentially $82 for a complete set of C3G cards.

Re: Super Hero City

Well, I'm extremely interested, but due to the start of school, low on funds for a bit.

Re: Super Hero City

I have about 50 or so left to do since I started just doing the ones I wanted the most and by the time I get those done we'll have a new release. So no rush. I'm gauging interest at this point.

It's all good. I'm willing to adapt to the preferences of those who are interested. If we take it one deck at a time, I'd be fine w/ that and easier to budget into my "hobby-balance." That said, if this plays out I'd be planning to get every card before it's all said and done. :)

Re: Super Hero City

we can do a combo some can get one deck at a time and some can get everything...as long as I get a grand total over $350 and the decks can be standardized it will be fine. Right now I easily have two 234 decks worth completed as of now. You get better deals with the larger decks but if it's easier to customize I could break it up into smaller chunks and it's still cheaper than artscow

Ditto. I'd also be willing to work out some minis for cards trades. I have lots of minis, but I need cards.
