Storing the Jungle?

The jungle pieces are quite unlike anything else we've had thus far in Heroscape. As such, they can't be stored like everything else. I can't stack them, etc.

What is everyone else using to store the jungle pieces?

For now, I've taken the trees back apart and stored them back in their original box. I'll think of something different, I'm sure, but that's all I can do at the moment.

This is my biggest concern with them too. I have a couple of ideas sketched out but it going to take a little trial and error as I really do not want to keep taking them apart to put away.

I was kinda wondering the same thing. I had planned on gutting our "office", tearing down one wall, expanding the room a bit, and building a HS room - but you're way seems easier, and cheaper, and quite frankly, exactly what I'm doing. ;):)

haha
and Ive no clue what Im gonna do yet with them...
gotta find some more bins or such to put them in....

I find everything fits back in the original box except for the largest tree, so I have that one sticking out the top of the box. This way I do not have to take apart my trees over and over again.

I haven't had to store them yet, so I don't know what I'll do. Probably get a small tool box or tackle box, gut the trays out, and store it in there.

lol that's awesome.

we just got a house with a basement to solve the problem.

I have two sets worth put into one of the boxes (with the canopies separated from the trees). The plants seem to be flexible enough to handle the slightly tight squeeze.

I've stored mine in the shoe-box sized Sterlite boxes that I store all of my terrain (except 24 hexes) in. Two sets of jungle fit nicely in one box. (These boxes are available at our local Dollar Store for...you guessed it...a dollar.)

that would werk for 1-2 sets...
however at 10 sets it does become cumbersome..

atm Ive got most of the bushes in a rubbermaid container, which they fit in pretty tight, but Ive not yet decided how to do that trees

I havent't got mine yet,but here is an idea. Store your swamp pieces away from the other pieces. Then put the trees on top. If you do it right you should be able to put trees in,without takeing them apart.

You also could put them with your figures.

I haven't put mine away yet. :p

Same here.:p . Though I'm pretty sure I'll use a plastic box that's longer in length than height, since you really can't stack these. I'll probably put the trees on the buttom and the brush on top or any other empty spots.

I've decided to forego demolishing our office to make a HS room, and instead, decided we needed to "liven" up the living area. Henceforth, all my Jungle Trees and Bushes now occupy the bookshelves and mantle, entertainment center, and other "high" areas as mini plants.

I feel like a giant...

You're the Martha Stewart of Heroscape.:D

if I did that
I'd have no living room
it'd be covered in jungle!

cheers

I'm going to use those plastic, see-through, shoebox-sized containers.
They're purchasable for $1 at the Dollar Tree. I'll store my shrubs in one and the trees (with canopies removed) in another.
The Miracle Grow comes in its own container.
:D

I keep all my terrain (of which there is a significant amount) in those plastic drawer-cabinets that you've seen so many other heroscapers use (such as draconius). I've got no drawer space left for the jungle trees, so I've decided to just stand them up in a small cabinet I use for custom terrain creations. This is probably a better setup anyway, as I can be certain that the dangly bits on the trees and the bushes won't get warped or bent in weird ways by getting tangled up in the box.

It makes for a double bonus in that the cabinet is a breakfront and has glass windowed doors, so you can see the trees and bushes in them. Already I had some friends over and their reaction was "Hey what's that?". They were already familiar with heroscape, but the sight of the jungle sets piqued some new interest.

I know they're just bastardized aquarium plants, but damn it, they're beautiful, I tells ya! ;)

Get two and you can store four sets. Get three and you can store six sets. And you don't have to pull the tops off.

Right now I have 6 sets in a cardboard box. I'm probably just going to get a third terrain tub for them all.

See, I've got all my terrain, except for the castles and the 24-hexes, in the shoe boxes that fit six into the larger bins. So, the jungle and the swamp stuff will go into its own bin. I've got too much stuff...but since Marian says it's "OK" (in fact, I had a third party report to me that she said, "I'm glad he's happy with his game."), I'm going to keep getting enough to have maximum fun with.

I placed mine in a regular storage bin exactly like the ones I use for all my other terrain.

A storage bin! I know it is completely shocking and simple huh?

Just separate from your other stuff and it should be fine. You probably just want to make sure you aren't storing anything on top of the Jungle pieces. That is about it. I was able to consolidate my lava bin with my castle bin freeing up a complete bin just for Jungle.

I segregate my terrain by size and type in storage bags and place those in bins. I've got two bins completely full of the bags though, so this is the excuse I needed to get another.
