It's still shortly before 5 o'clock, right? Well, anyways, y'all know the drill. Here are the entries we got for the Greenvise Vine. In the heart of Ticalla there is a sickness, a sickness that has been growing since shortly after the War of the Valkyries began. From the depths of the Uncharted Swamp to its south-west, the Marro have grown and spread and tainted everything in their path. The feeble attempts of the Allied Generals to root out and destroy this plague have served only to blight the land with war and bloodshed - once wild, verdant jungle and swampland has been stripped bare of vegetation and wildlife, the roar of guns and the fury of dragons’ breath laying waste to everything. Throughout this time, Hekatiane looked on, her cold fury growing warmer by the day, yet tempered by a knowledge that there was nothing she could do.
No longer. For today, her secret weapon has come to Valhalla.
An Bláth Dúnmharú (The Murdering Flower) - the terror of the Marsh of Éadóchas back in her homeworld of Grymwold, and Hekatiane’s last hope for Ticalla. As much spirit - or demon - as she is plant, she is ageless and deathless, and any who think her vanquished will soon be in for a very unpleasant surprise. She is unconfined by space, and is drawn unerringly to death; all she needs is for one soldier in the opposing army to meet his end, and within moments she’ll be on them, materialising from the earth itself; wrapping them in the organic tendrils she extends beneath the undergrowth; drawing them towards her; devouring them, when they are left alone and helpless. When she is banished, it is only ever transitory; if she can still feel death among you, she will be on you once again.
Human or Elf, Marro or Kyrie, all should take pause: all it takes is one death...

Bio:

Tendrils slink in search of prey, pulling victims close to its toothy maw. Audrox requires flesh and blood to survive. Though it cannot sustain itself on circuitry or rotting flesh, the voracious vine may take a taste before casting it aside.

Drosera Jungle Stalker

Bio:

Many on Valhalla speak of the dangers that dwell in the Ticalla Jungle. Those that plan to venture to these parts must stay vigilant, for there are creatures that lurk in plain sight. One such example are the Drosera Jungle Stalkers.

Hard to spot even mere meters away, these plant-like specimens blend deceptively into their environment. Rarely do they make the first move, prefering instead to ambush their prey the moment they get close. Though vulnerable in close quarters, their evasive instincts make it tricky to hit them from afar.

What truly makes these predators scary, however, is their high compatibility with the spiders that share the jungle. Together, they make a terrifying opposition to any who dare venture the Ticalla Jungle.

Ticalla Flytrap

Explorers of the Ticalla Jungle would be foolish to believe that the Fyorlag Spiders are the only danger. Deep within the wild, there are many more fearsome monstrosities, including a living plant that preys on flesh. Those unlucky enough to witness their allies suddenly stopped by a mass of swirling vines and unceremoniously eaten by the carnivorous plants know them only as Ticalla Flytraps. When traversing the jungle, parties must watch their every step, lest they stumble within range of the monstrous hunters...


With the Ticalla Flytraps on her side, Aquilla can defend the jungle and protect the wild from any enemies who would dare to enter her domain!

Marr Gorgevine

Bio:

Once the Marro began modifying the wildlife of their adopted home world to suit their needs, similar alterations to the native flora were not far behind. Most prominent are the deadly Gorgevines, immobile sentries frequently used to guard the all-important hives. When planted in close proximity, their root systems intertwine and link together, making each specimen exponentially more dangerous.

Had to go with An Bláth Dúnmharú. Her card is a bit wordy, but the theme is fantastic, especially how she manages to feel like a genuine immortal spirit without being overpowered.

A lot of great options here! I had to go with the Drosera Jungle Stalker myself, because it seemed like a pretty decent all-rounder hero for Aquilla (who, in my opinion, desperately needed more fleshing out).

Currently these attempt to be bi-monthly. They were quarterly for a while, but now the load is split between @chief and myself. Do you mean getting on the Home page? That would be pretty cool.

I agree. If you can get these competitions on the home page, or even a sticky thread, it could garner quite some attention. Since these competitions are pretty regular at bi-monthly, more attention means more contestants and more votes.

Yes, I feel like putting these kinds of competitions on the Home page would both bring them more attention and keep a somewhat steadier stream of content there. Of course, I've only just recently returned to this site, so I don't know what all that would entail, but personally I like the sound of it.

Perfect score! Looks like I need to get the Roundup out for Audrox.

I'm actually really surprised Audrox didn't get any votes - I thought it was a solid design. I ended up voting for the Marr Gorgevine because I liked it being from Marr so much, but balance-wise I feel like Audrox was developed really well and was a very close second. He was probably just unappreciated because he's ahead of his time.
