What is ScapeCon?

Spoiler Alert!

ScapeCon is a HeroScape tournament convention that puts the focus on the best part of competitive HeroScape: the people. For five days, we game together, and we eat together. There's no driving to or from a different hotel (unless you want to!), and there's no rushing out to get food elsewhere in between tournaments. Everything you need is under one roof.

Why the cost of the badge? Your badge covers all your gaming and all your meals- no purchasing event tickets. There's no charge to park at the hotel, and the room rates are very reasonable. Once you're there, you only have to open your wallet if you want to (and you may want to, given that there's a bar in the restaurant in the hotel).

The food is great, the people are great, the prizes are great, the tournament formats are great- there's really nothing else you could want out of five days of HeroScape. And of course, there's open gaming any time.

Badge Details:
ScapeCon IV Badge includes: 5 days of gaming; 11 meals (Wednesday dinner-Sunday breakfast); t-shirt; and prize support (prizes for coming, prizes for playing, and prizes for winning).
ScapeCon IV No Breakfast Badge includes: all of the above except for all four breakfasts.
ScapeCon IV No Meals Badge includes: all of the above except for all 11 meals.

Refunds:
We can refund you until TBD, at which point we will be unable to issue any refunds.

Hotel Block Information: Rooms are $134 a night with our group. You are not required to stay at the hotel. You can book rooms from 8/6 - 8/11 with the same code at the same rate (in case you're arriving on Tuesday or leaving on Monday).

Sign-Ups:
We're running ScapeCon through heroscape.org. If you have not created an account yet at heroscape.org, please do so now here.[/B] Your username on there should match your HeroScapers username (or the name you usually go by at ScapeCon, if you don't have an account). Everyone attending will need their own account with their own linked email address.


PRIORITY SIGN-UPS:
If you have attended ScapeCon before, you may sign up on the .org page now: ScapeCon IV.

Additionally, your immediate family may sign up as well (spouses, children).

Priority Sign-Ups Payment Date:
Payment for your badge opens on February 28. You will have 2 weeks to pay. On March 14, anyone who was not paid will be dropped from the Convention page, and people from the waitlist will be able to sign-up on the .org page.


REGULAR SIGN-UPS:
If you have not attended ScapeCon before, you can sign up for the waitlist now. Please post in this thread, and I will add you to the waitlist. DO NOT SIGN UP ON THE .ORG PAGE YET; YOU WILL BE DROPPED.

Sign-Up Date for Regular Sign-Ups:
On March 13, the first X people on the Wait List may sign up on .org, where X is the number of remaining spots. You will have 2 weeks to pay. On April 1, payments will simply be first come, first serve.

We will nail down official start times later, but for now, I'd say to expect a similar schedule as ScapeCon III (4PM start time on Wednesday, 3PM end time on Sunday). I expect we'll still do 1 time slot per day on Wednesday and Sunday, and those worked well last year. But again, they may be a little different this year.

Quick note on the hotel room block -- rooms are available on the 6th and 11th at the same rate ($134/night) if you wish to arrive on Tuesday and/or leave on Monday. We (me and OEAO) arrive no later than Tuesday around noon and we (and others) game on Tuesday afternoon/evening either in the bar or the ballroom.

Also, as GenCon is the weekend before, let me know if anyone going to GenCon and staying in the area would like rooms on the 4th and/or 5th. If so, I will check with the hotel to see if we can extend the room block rate for those nights.

I am actually considering staying up there the twoish weeks so I would be interested if that would be possible.
