Scales & Scape 3: a DOUBLE-HEADER event! (4/26/25)

What? A Double-Header: Two Scape tournaments on the same day! Oh yea!
When? April 26, 2025. The Prime-Time tourney will be 10:30-3:30. The night tourney will be 4:20-9. Map set-up will begin when the store opens at 10 AM!
Where? A supa cool local game store: Dragon's Hoard (4645 W Market St Suite A2, Greensboro, NC 27407)
Cost? $10/tournament (which will be used for prize support)

Prime-Time Tourney: VCheese
510 pts, 24 figures (maximum)
VC-inclusive (learn more here)
Standard Points (not Delta)
No Marvel units allowed.
Airborne Elite, Rechets of Bogdan, Bound Heros, and Vorid Glyde Strikers count towards Figure Number.
"Cheese" in Heroscape essentially means no special rules or point changes: it's straight kill 'em.
VCheese Tourney: 10:30 AM-3:30 PM. Saturday, April 26, 2025

"Night" Tourney: 2v2 Temporary Teammate Tourney, Ro8

270 pts, 10 figures (maximum)
Rule of 8: You may not field more than 8 of any given figure. If your army contains more than 8 of a figure, you must remove the extra figure(s) from your army before the game.
Delta Points (learn more here)
Official figures only (not VC)
No Marvel units allowed.
Airborne Elite, Rechets of Bogdan, Bound Heros, and Vorid Glyde Strikers count towards Figure Number.
Format specifics:
  • Every round you will be paired with a new teammate based on your record. 1-0s paired with 0-1s, 1-1s paired with 1-1s, 2-0s paired with 0-2s, etc. An ally in one game may be an enemy in the next game!
  • Turn-Order Initiative: After setting up start zones, players roll d20 to establish the Turn-Order for the entire game.
  • Highest overall roller goes first (the team with the highest overall roller will be called "Team A")
  • Highest roller on Team B goes
  • Lowest roller on Team A goes
  • Lowest roller on Team B goes
  • After rolling for the Turn-Order initiative, write the order down as it will be used for the entire game.
  • In following initiative rolls, the highest roller will start the round, and the turns will follow the pre-written Turn Order.
Tournament notes:
  • If there are multiple undefeated players after 4 games, all undefeated players will be deemed Champions. We will not play a 5th game (the game store is not open late enough for a 5th game in this tourney).
  • Any player who teamed with (any of) the Champion(s) throughout the event will also win a prize! There will be no prize for 2nd place.
  • Typically, team events do not count towards your record on .org. Because of the way this format is, .org will "think" you are playing 1v1 games, and thus, the results of these games will be counted on your .org record. This might be able to be changed, but this is how it stands currently.
Temporary Teammate Tourney: 4:20 PM-9 PM Saturday, April 26, 2025

Heroscape.org and Battle Network:

Follow this link to go to the VCheese tournament page on Heroscape.org. Follow this link to go to the Team Tourney tournament page on Heroscape.org.
We will use .org to run the tournaments.
Here (VCheese BN & Team BN) will be the link to the event on the Battle Network. Don't worry about submitting your army on Battle Network.
(will update once the link is ready) Posting in this thread does not reserve your place in the tournament: submitting payment on Dragon Hoard's Website reserves your spot.

Want army ideas for the VCheese Tourney? Take a look at these threads:

Interested in what people have played before in Team Tournies? Here's some light reading for you:

Maps:
Visit the tournament page(s) on heroscape.org to see the maps we will use.
We will use the same map pool for both tournaments.
On the Heroscape.org tournament page, you can "Claim" a map to indicate that you will bring it. Please consider bringing a map!
If you would like to propose a map that is not listed (please feel free to do so!), message me on Heroscapers or on Discord to propose the map.

Glyphs:
Valda: Move +2
Wannok: Wound
Dagmar: Initiative +8
Manig Lodin: D20 +2
Solo Astrid: +1 attack once per Order Marker for ANY figure (not just uniques)
Yadulkia: Disengage

Attendees:
TO RSVP: JOIN THE TOURNAMENT(s) ON HEROSCAPE.ORG

Visit the Heroscape.org tournament page (VCheese here; Team Tourney Here) to see the list of attendees!

More Info:
If a game goes to time, we will use partial card scoring to determine the winner.
If the VCheese tourney has 2 5-0 players after 5 rounds, the timing of the championship game will likely interfere with those player's ability to enter all 4 rounds of the Team Tourney. I will be surprised if there are multiple undefeated players after 5 rounds.
If you need to borrow figures, please ask in this thread or message me directly. Reasonable proxies (not for AoA units) and 3D prints are welcomed.
We will follow OEAO's Comprehensive Treatise as well as refer to OEAO's ScapeCon Rulings thread for some corner case rulings.
Please sign up ahead of time so that we can be sure to have enough maps. Capacity is 40 players.
Posting in this thread does not reserve your place in the tournament.
(will update once the link is ready) Submitting payment on Dragon Hoard's website reserves your spot.
Feel free to reach out if I can be of help in any way!

Scales & Scape 4: a STORE CHAMPIONSHIP event! (5/11/25)
What? A Store Championship tournament
When? May 11, 2025, from 1:00 to 6:30 PM. Setup begins at Noon when the store opens!
Where? A charming local game store: Dragon's Hoard (4645 W Market St Suite A2, Greensboro, NC 27407)
Cost? $10 (which will be used for prize support)

Format: Tri-Pod Draft, First-Crack (Renegade Points)
Bring three different pods , maximum of 280 pts each, (Renegade Points). Pods may not share any figures.
Renegade Points (listed below)
Figure Limit: 24 (only applies after the draft; there is no figure limit for each pod)
Renegade Points
"All Time" Format (No Sam Brown :cautious:)
1. Before each game, roll the D20. The player with the higher roll decides whether to be "Player A" or "Player B" in the draft.
If the D20 winner chooses themself as Player A, Player A may not choose one of their own pods in step #2 (this is what "First-Crack" means)
The progression of the draft is as follows:
2. Player A chooses one of the pods to play
3. Player B chooses one of the remaining 5 pods to play
4. Player B chooses one of the remaining 4 pods to play
5. Player A chooses one of the remaining 3 pods to play
6. Player B chooses which side of the map they start on
7. Players set up figures
8. Players roll initiative

For this event, we will be using Renegade's point totals. Be sure to be careful when using the army builder; you will need to account for the following point changes:
Major Q9 250
Nilfheim 240
Raelin ROTV 125
Sir Gilbert 160
Grimnak 160
Marro Warriors 105
Deathreavers 60
10th Regiment 95
4th Massachusetts Line 100
Me-Burq-Sa 70

We should have either 12 or 24 sets of yellow Aquilla-themed OMs (which will go to the first people registered on Dragon Hoard's website), plus 7-8 Silver Base Ewashia minis with foil Army Card for top placers.
This Tournament will serve as the Store Championship for Dragon Hoard and thus, the winner will get:
  • Exclusive Gold-based Ewashia, Master of Tides figure with "2025 Store Championship" stamped text.
  • Foil Army Card for Ewashia, Master of Tides.
  • An invitational bye into Day Two of the 2025 Heroscape World Championship at GenCon.

We will need everybody's help to ensure that we have enough maps!
Please volunteer to bring an unclaimed map on .org!
