Sacred Band disciplined bonus if someone dies

I'm sure this question has been asked and answered before, but a search of the forum yielded nothing.

If I start out with an army that includes the Sacred Band plus a hero or unit that is not disciplined, will the Sacred Band gain their Discilpined Army Defense Bonus if the non-discilpined friendly hero or unit dies? The card reads if 'If every Army Card you control has a disciplined personality, each soldier in the Sacred Band receives 1 additional defense die.' So, if I've put Drake with my Sacred Band and he's destroyed, I'm not really controlling the army card anymore, right? Or can I never gained the defense bonus as long as I've started the game with a non-disciplined unit's card?

Yes, if a unit dies leaving your entire army disciplined you would then receive the bonus.

Probably not the best choice. A 180 point swing hurts no matter what it does to the 4th Mass Defense. Not to mention you're countering with a 5% chance move. Fun to mess with theoretically though

Of course, you are right, Eclipse, not a real world solution to winning, by any means.

You can draft a pretty sturdy Einar all disciplined army, as long as you stay away from Guilty. Puts the Greeks above the Roman Legionnaires, in my opinion.
