Rejected by BGG

Dr. Weirdscaper

If it doesn't use 20+ sets, you're not doing it ri
I decided to show off some of my pictures on BGG, and submited pics
of The Great City (5 pics).

Seconds later, I got 5 letters, all rejections.

I realize the pics are not perfect, but wow, one of my greatest works shot down in seconds.

I don't know if it has happened to others, but I'm with you, Doc, in having had images rejected by BGG for no apparent reason. I just gave up on them. I hope you have better success.

(Oh, one of the reasons was that a window in the background of my shot might reveal where I live.)

I have heard if you put some eurogame pieces in the picture, it will get accepted easier. Just place some meeples in the great city, and give it a try.

That is funny...funny...funny...AmishBurrito!

Sheesh, they wouldn't take pictures of the Great City? There aren't many things that are a greater testament to the grandeur you can create when you mix insanity and heroscape. ;)

Very funny, but also true! I read a couple articles about "how to get BGG to accept wargame photos" and they did tests, and the photos were accepted more often when adding eurogame pieces!

I know for a fact and from experience, if you include a pretty girl in the picture, they almost always reject your picture. I don't know what, exactly, that might say. But I've "been there, done that."

(Yes, even old Rev's know a few pretty girls.)

They reject because of a pretty girl in the pic? Seriously? That doesn't make any sense...

Oh...are we talking about making sense? <grin>

Although considering the laws about pandering and such...well, it just breaks an old man's heart. (It really does, but I can also understand their position, actually. Stupid litiginious society.)

Pretty girls that you know? You mean at your age? No wonder why they rejected your pictures, Rev! :)

Oh, thanks, Longheroscaper...make the old guy feel really, really, old. <sigh>

And just wait until I tell my wife what you said about HER!

There are a ton of Heroscape images on BGG, so I know some modders are likely to turn them down just because of that. The nice thing on BGG though is that anyone can mod images, so if you don't like it mod yourself and get your friends too as well.

Nothing prevents you from re-submitting them again, at a different time, when there will likely be different people modding.

Jim

I just submitted a pic to them with ollie (UK) and RobertDD (Holland) in the pic....Is that Eurogamer enough?

You need to catch me while I am modding. If I see a pic, even remotely similar to the 100-200 OTHER pics on one game, I give it the boot. If it is silly with meeples, its gets a boot and a comment on how weak a picture it is (and then I click on as many other reasons- clarity, too small etc).... It has become one of my latest hobbies (modding) when I have dead time. I bet I would have passed some of yours. (hint, let us know when you all are submitting. Maybe a time when the Euro folks sleep)

For those who have not had the pleasure of seeing The Great City:
