Question Dump: Post Your Questions Here.

Exactly. Which is why 2.0 in c3g helped with a lot of the troublesome language and design. Clears up a lot of the headaches.

Yeah, I think at a certain point there's a big choice to make between keeping it in the zone of light family game (nothing wrong with that) or choosing to go deeper down the rabbit hole and making sure you have the right structural support for the journey.

You’re correct, those refer to phases of the turn, and would not proc on out-of-turn movement. Your list is nearly complete, a few I’d add:

Before revealing an Order Marker (this is first on the list)
At the beginning of a turn (this is before before moving, not sure I’ve seen it before but it would theoretically slot here)
At the end of a turn (this is after after attacking)

That is interesting I've never seen at the beginning of a turn before either. I guess the designers assumed that it is never different from before moving?

Doesn't Thanos have an ability like this?

Of course. For myself, I would not have had it any other way. The C3V and the C3G are not as similar as they appear on the surface. They serve different ends, wth different tools, and pursue them with different strategies.

Has anyone compiled a list of the physical sizes of HeroScape terrain? For instance how high (in inches/cm) one level of terrain, 2 levels, 3 levels, etc. are? How tall are the trees? How tall are the Castle pieces or the Ruins?

I want to be able to look at a build-instruction for a map and figure out how much vertical space it will require, without the necessity of actually building it and measuring.

If this has not been done... Winter Project!

You must play hunched over in rooms with very low ceilings.

Probably for storing it in one of those gaming tables that you can put a cover over it.

I am designing a rack to be able to carry (stacked) three pre-built maps to tournaments in my car.

I want to be able to browse through all the tournament maps on WoS & BoV (and any others that catch my fancy). And calculate the minimum height for each rack space to allow for any map to be racked as needed.

My first thought would be to modify something like this to increase the width but otherwise has everything else youre looking for: Sheet Pan Rack

I finished this project earlier this year. It ended up being too bulky and heavy for the car, but fits well under the table. Each shelf is around 5 inches high. Its plenty of room for the terrain itself, but the trees, ruins, etc, get put on their side.

Well met!

CAPTAIN XUE
General: Vydar
Human, Unique Hero, Captain, Tricky, Medium 5
Life 5, Move 5, Range 7, Attack 3, Defense 3

CAPTAIN XUE’S EDGE
When a figure you control rolls attack or defense dice against an adjacent figure, roll a 20-sided die. On a roll of 20 or higher, that figure rolls one automatic skull or shield, respectively. Add 3 to the roll if that figure is Captain Xue or within 6 clear sight spaces of Captain Xue.
.
TAIYANGFENG SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 8, Attack 3
After attacking normally, Captain Xue may attack with Taiyangfeng Special Attack. Choose a figure to attack. All figures adjacent to that figure are affected. Roll defense dice separately.

If I have Elaria the Pale in my army, does Queen of Thieves affect all the 20-sided die rolls of CAPTAIN XUE’S EDGE?

Well since it is Captain Xue who is rolling the d20, if Captain Xue is within Elaria's purview (6 clear sight spaces), then yes, you may add 1 to the d20 roll. Plus an additional 3 if the affected figure is Captain Xue himself or within his purview.

Thanks!

Can a small/medium figure with the Flying/Stealth Flying Special Power move past a Gladiatron if it began its movement not adjacent to the Gladiatron? Why or why not?

Hmm, let me clarify a tad, since I skimmed your question a bit earlier. When you say move past, are they moving through those spaces (aka walking) or are they passing over them (flying)? If they're passing over the spaces, they never occupy the spaces, so they're never adjacent with the Gladiatrons, and thus are not stopped by Cyber Claw.

Is there a listing somewhere of the release dates for each Master Set, Wave, and Expansion (both Hasbro/WotC & C3V)?

Oh! Yeah, I was saying that they were flying past them. This is a weird corner case in the rules. Is there any official ruling on this or is this just implied in our understanding of the Flying special power?
