Public Design Workshop

I like the Head Shot mechanic. It ties her into the way zombies work in Heroscape naturally.

One day we’ll get a C3G sniper with a D20 roll so the Spotter can finally use their boost. Just not today.

Those powers for Andrea and Carl are from Griffin.
Michonne went through some work shopping to get there. Started with Swordplay, evolved into Cleave and then into Sever.

There was some traction on doing some of the Survivors as a squad.

GO GO POWER RANGERS!

After revealing an Order Marker on this card, before taking a turn with this Red Ranger, you may first reveal an "X" Order Marker on this card and take a turn with up to two other Unique Ranger Heroes you control within 6 clear sight spaces of this Red Ranger. You may activate the chosen Heroes in any order.

POWER SWORD

This Red Ranger adds 2 to his Attack when attacking an adjacent figure. Once per round, you may add 2 to this Red Ranger's Attack when attacking a non-adjacent figure.

COUNTER STRIKE
When rolling defence dice against a normal attack from an adjacent attacking figure, all excess shields rolled count as unblockable hits.

Wow - 5/5 Attack and defence, plus MMA, plus a Titans Go! derivative? This guy may end up pushing 250 right now, he's pretty damn solid looking.

POWER LANCE

When attacking an adjacent figure, this Blue Ranger may either add 1 to his attack or, after attacking, he may attack a second adjacent figure. If this Blue Ranger only attacked one adjacent figure this turn, roll the 20-sided die. On a 17 or more, remove one Order Marker from that figure's card. Figures with the Electrically Charged special power may not have Order Markers removed this way.

TECH SPECIALIST
Rangers within 3 spaces of this Blue Ranger add 1 to their Attack and Defence. If this Blue Ranger uses an Equipment Glyph with a D20 roll, add 3 to the result.

COUNTER STRIKE

When rolling defence dice against a normal attack from an adjacent attacking figure, all excess shields rolled count as unblockable hits.

250 seems fair- Jason should be able to match and beat someone like Nightwing in combat and should be on his leadership level

POWER AXE

Add 1 to this Black Ranger's Attack when he attacks an adjacent figure. Once per round, you may add 1 to this Black Ranger's Attack when attacking a non-adjacent figure, and you may roll one unblockable attack die against each figure adjacent to the defending figure.

HIP HOP KIDO

When defending against a normal attack from an adjacent figure, add one automatic shield to whatever is rolled, and all excess shields count as unblockable hits on the attacking figure. If a figure received wounds this way, that figure receives one additional wound.

POWER BLASTER
Once per game, if you control four figures with the Power Sword, Power Lance, Power Daggers, and Power Bow special powers within 4 spaces of this Black Ranger, you may choose one opponent's figure within 6 spaces of this Black Ranger. Roll the 20-sided die. On a 1-3, that figure receives one wound. On a 4-10, that figure receives three wounds. On a 10-15, that figure receives five wounds. On a 16-18, that figure receives seven wounds. On a 19 or more, destroy that figure.

If a Ranger you control within 3 spaces of this Yellow Ranger is targeted for an attack, roll the 20-sided die. On a 15 or more, you may move this Yellow Ranger next to the targeted figure and ignore that attack.

ACROBATIC MASTERY
This Pink Ranger never takes falling damage and is never attacked when leaving an engagement. After rolling attack dice for a normal attack or after rolling defense dice, for each shield rolled you may immediately move this Pink Ranger one space up to 6 levels up or down. When this Pink Ranger rolls defense dice against an opponent's attack, one shield will block all damage.

There are figures for the Walking Dead game.

Look small to me ....

Ah :duh: good call. I forgot that it was Millar source material like Kick-ass. Not technically a superhero, but comic book, so probably right on the bubble.

There's actually been a follow-up series (Kingsman: The Red Diamond) and another series is planned as well. Figured that was substantial enough of a comic book background.

Sure, comic books are one part, but not everything. For instance, Star Trek and Star Wars have extensive comic book backgrounds, but we've opted not to go there as a group. Until recently, we ruled the same about G.I. Joe and Transformers. It's just one of those you'd have to ask the Heroes to rule on.

...you'd better tell me Power Rangers are fair game

Btw, fwiw, posting fifteen designs in a row here isn't a good way to get comments on them. There's too much muchness in this thread right now, and I'm actually pretty interested in the Walking Dead write ups AND the Power Ranger write ups. :-D

I'll just stick to Red Ranger first off. I like the write up overall, but I'd straight up cut Master Martial Artist. I think he's overpowered with it and about right without it.

...I gotta write them down SOMEWHERE though...

Also, fair enough- it just felt like something Jason should have given martial arts was one of his big things- would it be fine to give him regular Counter Strike instead?

Entirely valid. And definitely a good rule. Especially with the multitude of random tie-in comics books that have been made over the years.

The auto skull an auto shield further boosting his stats is my major concern, so I'm fine with Counter Strike.

Alright- I think that encompasses his martial arts ability enough.

So Negative Man is the one DP member I'm not fairly satisfied with. It's been a while since I last rolled him out here, so here's the latest take with some changes from the last version, but basically with the same core concepts.

The one element I'm still unhappy with is the Hollow Man power. My goal is to have Larry himself not be such a ridiculously easy target. Robotman can help protect him up close, but he can still get sniped with ease. In the comics, their enemies tend to ignore Negative Man collapsed on the ground when his spirit and the rest of the Doom Patrol are in their face, so that's mostly what I'm trying to represent. I think it's coming off a bit convoluted right now though. Any suggestions?

NEGATIVE SPIRIT HOST
Before taking a turn with Negative Man, you may place the Negative Spirit, if it is in your army, on an empty space adjacent to Negative Man. Instead of taking a turn with Negative Man, you may take a turn with the Negative Spirit.

HOLLOW MAN
If the Negative Spirit is on the battlefield, Negative Man cannot move, attack, and opponent's figures more than 5 spaces away from Negative Man or opponent's figures within 3 clear sight spaces of another figure you control, cannot attack Negative Man with a non-adjacent attack.

NEGATIVE SPIRIT RETURN
At the end of each round, you must either place the Negative Spirit on its Army Card or place 1 wound marker on this card.

NEGATIVE SPIRIT POSSESSION
The Negative Spirit does not start the game on the battlefield. It must be summoned onto the battlefield by a figure with the Negative Spirit Host special power. If you no longer control any figure with the Negative Spirit Host special power, remove the Negative Spirit from the battlefield.

NEGATIVE ENERGY BEING
The Negative Spirit can move through all figures and obstacles such as ruins, and is never attacked when leaving an engagement. After moving, you may choose a figure Negative Spirit passed through. Roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 17 or higher, the chosen figure receives a wound. Before rolling defense dice, you must first roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 1-4, place the Negative Spirit on this card. The Negative Spirit cannot receive any wounds or be destroyed.

FLYING

Would it be terribly unthematic to just switch the figures on the battlefield (one on, one off)?

How about:

HOLLOW MAN
If the Negative Spirit is on the battlefield, Negative Man cannot move, attack or make leaving engagement attacks, and opponent's figures may not target Negative Man for an attack if they could target another figure you control.
