Public Design Workshop

Nope. Predictions are made off behavior and action. Same reason why it doesn't work on the insane: they're unpredictable. Predictions aren't easy without data to work with.

His power actually is fairy contingent on them making the first move. It's why he often starts with intimidating monologues rather than throwing the first punch.

That's a pretty important balancing factor. If you can attack his allies first and goad him into taking action to protect them that can level the playing field.

BORROWED POWER
Start the game with four red Fracture markers. When Izuku Midoryia attacks, you may roll up to 2 additional attack dice. After Izuku Midoriya rolls attack dice, roll the 20-sided die, adding 2 for each additional attack die rolled. On a 1-7, place a red Fracture marker on this card. For each red Fracture marker on this card, subtract 1 from Izuku Midoriya's Move, Attack and Defense numbers, to a minimum of 1.

HERO ANALYSIS
If Izuku Midoriya or any friendly figure within 4 spaces is attacked or targeted for a special power by a figure with at least one revealed Order Marker on its card, add one automatic shield to any defence dice rolled and you may add or subtract 2 to any 20-sided die rolls made by that figure.

I thought I'd throw out an idea for a Hero Academia character since I had it in my head.

Lord only knows if appropriate minis exist for them though unfortunately.

Someday we will break the manga barrier. Will MHA be the series to do it? (Probably that or One Punch Man... they're both superhero based after all.)

I think we'd want to go with a unique name for people with Quirks, rather than metahuman. I don't think there's a canonical one. Maybe just "QUIRK HUMAN" or something.

There should probably be something preventing him from using Borrowed Power when he's out of fracture markers (since, uhh, all his limbs are broken). Maybe something that lets you remove a marker when a wound his healed, too, though that might be too finnicky. But overall that's a really cool, concise way to represent him.

Oop, good point. Though there ARE those times when Midoriya actually uses One For All with his already injured body parts (I specifically remember him double-charging his fingers and completely screwing them up). Maybe make the roll actually inflict a wound if there's already four Fracture markers on there. And thanks <3

Also the other series I've been dying to try some designs for was JoJo's Bizarre Adventure which isn't technically superheroes but has a lot of fun special abilities to work with.

STAND POWER: STAR PLATINUM
At the start of each round or this JoJo's turn, you may place Star Platinum on the battlefield within 7 spaces of this JoJo or remove Star Platinum from the battlefield. After taking a turn with this JoJo, you may immediately take a turn with Star Platinum. If this JoJo is destroyed, destroy Star Platinum.

YARE YARE DAZE
If an adjacent opponent's figure attacks this JoJo and deals no wounds, JoJo may roll one unblockable attack die against the attacking figure.

STAND USER: JOTARO KUJO
Star Platinum does not start the game on the battlefield. You may only place Star Platinum on the battlefield using a figure with the Stand Power: Star Platinum special power. Star Platinum may only move within 7 spaces of a Jotaro Kujo figure. If Star Platinum is ever more than 7 spaces away from a Jotaro Kujo figure, remove Star Platinum from the battlefield and place it on this card. If Star Platinum is destroyed, destroy a figure with the Stand Power: Star Platinum special power.

ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA
After Star Platinum rolls attack dice, Star Platinum may re-roll one attack die. After attacking, Star Platinum may attack again with attack dice equal to the number of skulls rolled.

STAR PROTECTION
When rolling defence dice against an attack, two blanks may count as an extra shield. Whenever a Jotaro Kujo figure you control would be targeted for an opponent's attack or special power, you may move Star Platinum next to the defending figure and add 6 defence dice to the roll, and two blanks may count as an extra shield.

STAND
Figures without the species of Stand may not roll attack dice against Star Platinum. Star Platinum is not affected by special powers on a card without the species of Stand.

An attempt at Jotaro and Star Platinum written from 2:20-2:55 AM and therefore quality cannot be guranteed

Jojo is one of those things I always have known I’ll enjoy, but I’ve never gotten around to it. This looks fun!

At some points you refer to JoJo, sometimes Jotaro Kujo, and sometimes a “figure with Stand Power: Star Platinum special power.” Are there multiple characters who can use the Star Platinum Stand?

I’m going to summon my inner Tornado and point out that you can’t test out the Stand special power without another Stand figure. (Unless it’s different, as having another stand figure on the battlefield will only nerf this unit.)

Well like I said it was past 2 AM and I got a little lost as to what the correct terminology was to refer to Jotaro here.
The specific references to Jotaro instead of JoJo on Star Plat's card are because there's multiple JoJo's (Jonathan Joestar, Joseph Joestar, Jotaro Kujo, Josuke Higashikata, Giorno Giovanni, Jolyne Kujo, Johnny Joestar, Josuke Higashikata but a different Josuke Higashikata), so I wanted to make each one JoJo but with their given name as their secret identity.

STAND POWER: THE WORLD
At the start of each round or DIO's turn, you may place The World on the battlefield within 7 spaces of DIO or remove The World from the battlefield. If DIO is destroyed, destroy The World.

KNIFE BARRAGE SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 5 Attack 3
Start the game with 6 silver Knife markers. Whenever DIO takes a turn using The World's Toki Wo Tomare special power, you may place 3 silver Knife markers on figures within 5 spaces of DIO instead of moving. If The World's turn ends without The World using Toki Wo Tomare special power, roll 3 attack dice for each silver Knife marker on a figure's card, treating each 3 attack dice as a seperate attack. Figures defending against Knife Barrage Special Attack only roll one defence roll against for all attacks rolled.

VAMPIRIC HEALING
Whenever DIO deals 1 or more wounds to a figure that is not an Android, Construct or Undead figure with his normal attack, you may remove 1 wound marker from this army card.

When attacking, The World may count one blank rolled as an additional skull. After attacking, The World may attack again with attack dice equal to the number of skulls rolled.

TOKI WO TOMARE
Start the game with three yellow Clock marker on this card. At the end of The World's turn, you may remove a Clock marker to immediately take an additional turn with DIO and The World. You may only remove up to two yellow Clock markers during The World's turn. If The World or DIO are attacked and at least 1 skull is rolled, you may remove one yellow Clock marker to ignore that attack, then you may move DIO and The World up to 5 spaces each. At the end of the round, place 3 yellow Clock markers on this card, up to a maximum of 3.

Figures without the species of Stand may not roll attack dice against The World. The World is not affected by special powers on a card without the species of Stand.

HOOOOOOOOOOOOO BOY WAS THIS ONE TOUGH TO FIGURE OUT AND THERE WILL PROBABLY BE MANY OBJECTIONS TO HIM

To give a rundown on what's happening here: The World can stop time for a few seconds at a time. The idea behind TOKI WO TOMARE here is two-fold: One, that The World can stop time to allow DIO and The World to take additional turns, and two, that when DIO or The World are about to get hit he can just stop time and move away (he does this several times in the show)

The Knife Barrage attack is essentially DIO throwing out a ton of knives during the time stop, that then all hit the target at once when time resumes. I don't know how well it was conveyed here, but I wanted each Knife marker to basically function as an independent 3 dice attack, but with the defending figure only making one defence roll that each attack was compared to.

As for the order of how things are meant to work here:
-The World uses Toki Wo Tomare
-DIO takes a turn, placing 3 knife markers
-The World takes a turn, then uses Toki Wo Tomare once more
-The World takes a turn
-DIO takes a turn, placing 3 knife markers, then unleashing the full barrage as time resumes

I acknowledge this is somewhat convoluted and intensely powerful, but DIO and The World are meant to BE intensely powerful. They'd be pretty high point figures that theoretically should be able to hold their own against a few figures all by themselves.

STAND
Figures without the species of Stand may not roll attack dice against The World. The World is not affected by special powers on a card without the species of Stand.
So... he's literally invulnerable to every other figure in the game? Nothing else matters until this is changed.

Check DIO's Stand User power. If you kill DIO, you kill The World too.

 Yeah, that's the definition of broken. Maybe you could use him if you allow infinite starting zone spaces and price him at 100,000 points. Then I could go all Fire Ants and just convince you to let me place first .... But that's the only possible route to winning that I'm seeing.

Edit: :ninja: Well, that does help.

Oof
And this was me TRYING to balance him and keep his abilities in fiction working in a way that made sense

My head hurts

I'll admit the STAND ability thing is broken if you don't notice that the Stand User has to live for the Stand to live too.
Stand Users and Stands are tied to each other and if one dies, the other goes too.
Technically, if one is injured, the other is injured, but that felt finnicky to implement so I just did it as a flat "if they die, the other dies".

Okay - that's fair enough. I haven't had time to read through, I just saw that power and went into a tizzy. It still concerns me, but if he can only be taken with someone else and dies when they do, him being invulnerable isn't as much of a concern.

For the record, the STAND special power is because Stands cannot be seen nor interacted with by anyone who is not a Stand User themselves.

Could you explain the conceit of this theme and world to me? I'm a bit lost, and tired, and going to bed in a few minutes.

The short version:
Stands are psychic projections that certain people (Stand users) have control of. Stands come in many different forms and abilities (the two I've tried to design, Star Platinum and The World, are both pretty similar however).
Stands have a limited range they can be used in away from the Stand user.
As a general rule, the more raw power/larger a Stand is, the less distance it can travel away from its user.
Only Stand users can see Stands.
