Public Design Workshop

Re: Public Design Post

Hmm ... actually the challenge of a guy with both Life Drain and Healing Factor could be fun ... he doesn't do much as a character offensively, so why not make him a survivalist?

Morbius (Micheal Morbius)

Mutate
Unique Hero
Vampire
Tortured

Life 5
Move 7
Range 1
Attack 6
Defense 3

Cost 350?

Life Drain
When Morbius destroys a figure, you may remove 1 Wound Marker from this Army Card.

Healing Factor
After taking a turn with Morbius, remove one Wound Marker from this card.

Stealth Flying
When Morbius starts to fly, if he is engaged, he will not take any leaving engagement attacks.

Flying Symbol
Super Strength Symbol

I see the Talon Grab type approach working better on a unit like Man-Bat or Vulture ...

Re: Public Design Post

I think the toned down stats will keep him killable. In fact, 350 will probably even end up being a little high for that.

Re: Public Design Post

I agree. I'm good with that, though. 350 seemed a bit high for what I know of the character.

Re: Public Design Post

Actually, here's a power combo that might be a bit more thematic... since Morbius is more driven to kill than desires to kill:
LIFE DRAIN
When Morbius destroys a figure, you may remove 1 wound marker from this card.

VAMPIRIC DRIVE
After attacking, if Morbius did not inflict at least 1 wound this turn, place 1 wound marker on this card.

Re: Public Design Post

I think even 300 is gonna be too high. That defense of 3 creates a very strong downward swing.

Re: Public Design Post

Yeah, though I think his life could possibly go up to 6 to give you more of a chance to use those powers.

Re: Public Design Post

I agree with Tickle. I appreciate designs with little to no swing these days.

Re: Public Design Post

I changed his defense to 4 and put his points at 280. Anything else on him or anything at all Predator X?

Re: Public Design Post

I'd say put his point total at 280, move his defense down to 3. Replace Gamblers charm with, "Bad Beat if an opponents figure attacks Gambit (both special and normal) and no skulls are rolled, the opponent immediately stops their turn and Gambit may use Aces Wild Special attack" Other than that... not too shabby sir.

BAD BEAT
Whenever Gambit is attacked and no skulls are rolled, the attacking figure's turn immediately ends, and Gambit may immediately use his Aces Wild Special Attack.

Re: Public Design Post

Turn interruption. :poorpost:
Exaclty what I was thinking. I was just revising his wording. It's a bit much. I'd only ever do that on an Event Hero.

Also, if we're voting for who gets Molly's spot, and noone can include themselves, I'd like to see Scarecrow or Gambit, in that order.

Re: Public Design Post

Turn interruption. :poorpost:

Question for ya:
Why are you guys so opposed to it? Just because it's clunky? I understand wanting easy powers, but in some cases something like this makes sense. (I don't know much about Gambit, so I can't say in this case. :p )

Re: Public Design Post

Short answer? Grungebob said not to. :)

Long answer? It causes all sorts of problems having to do with keeping track of who did what, what triggers when, and that sort of thing. And for certain powers, it can get extremely confusing. If someone attacks you, and you interrupt their attack with your own attack - do you counter strike before or after that? Or at all? And if they have counter strike, when does it occur? That sort of thing...

Re: Public Design Post

I'm putting that in my sig, GO ... :p Sooo tired of having to answer that one!

Re: Public Design Post

I added this at the bottom of my compatibility link in my sig:

One thing I happened to notice:
Spoiler Alert!

Re: Public Design Post

If anyone's interested, here is a link for a few of my custom Superhero creations. I'd appreciate any comments.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but this is the second C3G thread in a row that's been bumped for you to link a personal customs thread. Please be mindful that C3G is a collaborative customs project that has a lot of work going on as part of that collaboration, not a place to garner attention for individual efforts.

Re: Public Design Post

A link in your signature is a good place to draw attention to a custom thread.
