18 seems kinda high for a temporary control roll. I know I wouldn't go for it with the roll that high unless it was a permanent control roll. I'd drop it to 16 or so

I agree that Mesmerizing Aura should probably be restricted to normal attacks.

I agree with Bats on the same range thing.

I agree with Bats on the same range thing.

When I saw the not attacked this turn text my mind saw "you cannot attack".

That power text looks much better to me but it could be trimmed a bit.

Not quite there, but better.

Also, I think this is one that we'd want to restrict to normal attacks.

I would respectfully disagree, but am not against changing it. I would rather see a clear sight restriction. I would think if you are Mesmerized, it would cause a problem with any kind of attack, unless the attack did not require clear sight.

The reason to restrict it to normal attacks has nothing to do with theme, just that it can get messy when interacting with special attacks. That said, Scarlet Witch has already covered this ground with Hex-Sphere Disturbance.

If/when you guys have enough points to open another design thread, make a post in the Shop officially purchasing the thread and subtracting the points. Once you've done that, I'll get the process up and running.

Yep, that was pretty much my reasoning. Good point on Scarlet Witch. I for some reason find rerolling all skulls less potentially messy than subtracting a skull after the attack as rolled, though.

So, pretty simple.

Being a minor character who doesn't have anything very unique (she flies, she's strong, she has claws), I felt simple fit her best. With Berserker Frenzy my goal was to capture her personality and battle craze. She's a good fighter, but a bloodthirsty one, and when she goes into battle she goes all out. I think Berserker Frenzy, while simple, will play with a lot of strategy; obviously, you want to get the most out of her and using her ability to take 3 straight turns off of OM 1 is the way to do it, but if you're not careful you'll find yourself wasting OMs because you got engaged with a Multiple Man that just keeps Duping . Thematically, her stats could probably be a little higher, but because of the potential of Berserker Frenzy I wanted to be careful. Giving her Stealth Flying is one option to spice her up a little, but I was afraid it would take away from some of the strategy and risk/reward of Berserker Frenzy.

On a side note, I've been working on some ideas for a Shi'ar faction (Lilandra and maybe some commons), and Deathbird is my starting point to build off of.

Thoughts?

Wow... absolutely love that power!! Costly but powerful, flashy to use, strongly thematic... home run. I'd put her as Empress (if only to avoid the weird Brotherhood synergy) but really I'd vote for her right now!

(By the by, if you're working on the Shi'ar, I've got a design coming up you'll probably be interested in... once my next two are finished up. Keep an eye out. )

Hey just a sort-of Public Design question: Does anyone know if there is/is going to be a Heroclix release with more of the New 52 villains? I've been reading many of the new comics and some of the newer characters have struck me as very cool for HS (Talons, The Trench Dwellers, Nobody, etc) but I haven't found figures for them. Anyone know anything?

Teen Titans seem to be introducing a lot of New52 Villains, so even if they're not necessarily there it's pretty likely they'll be utilizing them more in the future.

Hey, G-O, just realized for the first time that you're in Hagerstown, MD. That's right near Frederick, MD, where, hilariously enough, my really good friend Frederick teaches at Frederick Community College!

My neighbor, sadly not named Frederick, works at FCC. What does Frederick teach at Frederick? You should come visit him and play in one of our local tourneys. Like this one May 18th. We usually get 30 +/- a few. You wouldn't need to bring any Heroscape, you could borrow from me. We could stay later and get some C3G battles in or other gaming.

Actually, because she's not a Mutant, she only gets the Avalanche synergy. That said, I'd be good with Empress.
