Public Design Workshop

Re: Public Design Post

Based on the already awesome suggestions here is what I would do for Calander Man. Drop his attack to 2 he's a wuss and this will help make him a insanely low cost to draft. Then make him uncommon, drop the No Holiday, and just make 11 different Calender Man cards each with a Holiday. Another idea leave stats alone, make him uncommon, and make four different Calendar Man cards each with a different set of three Holiday Powers. Just a thought

Re: Public Design Post

Yeah, I could see going with 11 of them (or 12 if you can come up with something for August) and doing an Iron Man or Beast Boy approach where you have to have that many cards. Or even better doing it shorter where you just have like four cards, each with three month powers and then one "calendar" power that has you move from card to card.

Re: Public Design Post

Thanks for the support, definitely time now to talk about making it a real design!

I'm open to doing a bunch of different versions for him, though it does seem a little odd to do on such a minor character. One problem is doing Mother's Day and Father's Day, as I can't think of a way of actually doing them.

Another idea is to just lower him to 3 or 4 powers, giving him select holidays (April Fools, Valentine's Day, Halloween, and Christmas maybe?).

So what does everyone think? Multiple cards or just one?

I'd like to just go with the major holidays that can be easily represented on the card (no Labor, Mother's, Fathers day) But I'm not against having more than one card.

Also, we should definitely have Free Comic Book Day in there! :p

Re: Public Design Post

Yeah, I think Smithy's got a good bead on it. If we do only the ones that are really doable, how many powers can we whittle it down to? 8 or 9? If so, we might be able to do it in three cards.

Re: Public Design Post

But Calendar Man likes the minor holidays!

I'd do something like this:

EVERY DAY IS A HOLIDAY
At the start of the game, roll the 20-sided die to determine which power Calendar Man will have for the rest of the game.

1-3 When rolling for initiative, you may add 8 to your roll.

4-6 Choose a Unique Hero you control and an opponent’s Unique Hero. For the duration of the round, the chosen figures cannot target each other for any attacks or special abilities.

7-9 All figures you control on grass spaces add 2 to their 20-sided die rolls.

10-12 Before revealing an Order Marker on a card you control, you may rearrange all Order Markers on cards you control in play.

13-15 An opponent cannot take temporary or permanent control of any figures you control.

16-17 All figures you control add 1 to their attack and defense numbers for each Order Marker on their card.

18 All Undead, Lycanthropes, and Demons on the battlefield roll 2 additional attack dice.

19 All figures on the battlefield may remove 1 wound marker from their card.

20 All players may choose 1 Equipment Glyph and place it on the card of a Unique Hero they control that does not have an Equipment Glyph already on their card.

Re: Public Design Post

I really like how it's related to what round it is, personally. That said, I suppose it might be "unrealistic" to think of the battle as going across several months like that.

Re: Public Design Post

Just so everyone knows, since I can't really tell if you're all joking or not, I have Calendar Man drafted. :p

Re: Public Design Post

I will try again in the Dredd'verse thread at some point.
I am going to try to scan the comic he appears in so others can be fairly entertained. :)

Re: Public Design Post

Here'd another cool one I thought I'd do a write up for. It will need a proxy, but I think it will still work.

The Batman of Zur-en-arrh

Spoiler Alert!

For those of you unfamiliar with Batman R.I.P, this was tha persona that Batman created for himself after his mind was attacked by Doctor Hurt and the Black Glove. It is based off of the original The Batman of Zur-en-arrh that appeared several years earlier from another dimension.

He fights primarily with an old baseball bat (he has no $$) and posseses an old radio (called the Bat-Radia) which is capable of jaming alarm systems and controling computers (which he uses to trap the entire Black Glove inside of Arkham Asylum)

The name The Batman of Zur-en-arrh is based off of the last words the Bruce hears from his father "they would probably throw someone like Zorro in Arkham.

Hope you guys like it.

Re: Public Design Post

So out of the two designs I have done so far people seem to prefer Blackheart. Well I just got done using the Mentor Program again with IAMBATMAN'S assistance, and here comes daddy! (Blackheart's daddy that is)
Spoiler Alert!

As always comments and suggestions welcome especially when it comes to his point cost cause I have no clue. Thanks

Nice :D. Given his high life and the many possibilities to come back along with the Ruler bonus he can give to the Moloids (Yes Mega it's Moloids not Mobloids ;)) I would think 600 or so points.

Re: Public Design Post

At the start of the game, choose one Unique Ruler Hero to be the One Ruler for all Moloids you control. After revealing an Order Marker on this card and before taking a turn with a Moloid, you may first take a turn with its chosen One Ruler. Any Moloid rolls 1 additional attack die when its chosen One Ruler is within 2 clear sight spaces.

;-)

Re: Public Design Post

I generally don't like markers... but I honestly think they add a lot to the design here. I'd be happy to see that go ahead - the only tweaks I can imagine are balance and power-based.

Re: Public Design Post

Yeah, I was resistant to see us go that route at first as well, but I didn't see another easy way to represent the existing "contracts." The big question to me is whether your opponents will decide to sign up for the contracts very often or not (though if they're down to their last figure, for instance, I suppose they don't really have another option).
