Public Design Workshop 2.0

Looks good! I do wonder if limiting recruitment to Task Force X and Gotham Underworld characters would work?

...KILLS THE WHATEVER UNIVERSE
During setup, select a Publisher. For the rest of this game, when attacking a figure with that Publisher on their card, Dreadpool may add 2 Hits and the defending figure either:
-Doesn't roll defence dice
-Has its special abilities negated for this attack.
Dreadpool may only use this ability on each figure once per game.

...KILLUSTRATED
When attacking an opponent's figure, if another figure with the same name or secret identity with that figure has been defeated, Dreadpool has +2 Attack.

...KILLS DEADPOOL
When attacking a Deadpool figure, Dreadpool has +1 Hit.

ACCELERATED HEALING FACTOR
At the end of his activation, Dreadpool heals 1 wound. During cleanup, he heals 1 wound.

For the first ability, is Deadpool choosing which option to use or is the defender?

So basically you run around hoping you one-shot everyone, then I'd assume you bring in whatever backup to finish off what you couldn't one-shot? Seems wacky enough, and he'd definitely be a top target. Might skew a little unfun for the opponent tbh.

That'd be more or less how he'd function I think yeah

Did he solo kill an entire universe? One person army potential (both in points and thematic power level) is one of the bigger criteria. If you did go that path, could abstract his healing into his life and make his points pretty high.

Yeah, in Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe he solo-kills everyone, in Killustrated he manages to go to a dimension where classic fictional characters live and in killing them he kills off every character they inspired (e.g., when he kills Dracula he kills Doctor Strange), the only one where he's not solo-ing is Deadpool Kills Deadpool where he recruits an army of alt-universe Deadpools to kill other alt-universe Deadpools. He's definitely justifiable to be designed as a one-person army.

Which means he should probably be costed like one, right?

At which point you wouldn't want him easily auto-defeated, etc., thus Event Hero status.

I'm guessing he's 300ish, maybe a little less, as currently drawn up. I wonder if it's justifiable to crank his life up a bit and get him in the > 500 range.

I'm happy to give him a big life pool and no healing ability (or a slightly less big but still big life pool and healing ability)

Any idea what sort of numbers would be fair? 10? 12? More?

8, 9, 10 with the healing could get interesting for a one figure team.

LEAD SHIELD
Allies adjacent to Lead gain Toxic Resistance, Fire Resistance, Light Resistance, and have +1 Defense. Lead and all adjacent allies in the Metal Men faction have +1 block when defending.

LEAD BOWLING BALL TRANSFORMATION
Instead of Lead's move and attack phases, he may maneuver up to 5 spaces in a straight line and may move through all figures. For all figures he moved through during this maneuver, roll 2 combat dice. For each skull rolled you may move that figure 1 space. Figures moved by Lead Bowling Ball Transformation do not take swipes but will taking falling damage. After Lead Bowling Ball Transformation, any figure other than Lead that was moved receives one wound.

FACTION = METAL MEN
PUBLISHER = DC
KEYWORDS = INORGANIC
SYMBOLS = SUPER STRENGTH, HEAT RESISTANCE, TOXIC RESISTANCE, LIGHT RESISTANCE
Dreams of having a full Metal Men faction starts with this guy. Not sure on the points but ultimately hoping to keep him between 170-220 range.

If it is too strong I will take out the "and roll one additional die when defending" but yes definitely want him to help even non metal men become resistant to a few things.

Also changed all figures adjacent to all allied figures but I am sure there are some other wording issues for it to fit into 2.0 language.

Sweet! I wonder if we could mesh the first 2 powers together like so:

LEAD SHIELD

Allies adjacent to Lead gain Toxic Resistance, Fire Resistance, Light Resistance, and have +1 Defense. Lead and all adjacent allies in the Metal Men faction have +1 block when defending.

On most cards, I'd usually be against repeating a single word over and over again in ability names (LEAD XXX and LEAD YYY, etc.) but on the Metal Men it almost serves as a joke. :lol:

Huh, it never occurred to me that we straight up do not have the Metal Men at the moment, that's crazy. Any plans for a Will Magnus design as some sort of leader or support for them? Lead's looking like a pretty cool defender to me at the moment.

I do like combining the powers under one title. Wording is cleaner and leaves space for a possible negative power if needed to bring cost down. Maybe a SODA MACHINE DISTRACTION negative power. Again only needed as this needs to be a 6 hero team at 1000 points ultimately.

Any preference on which power title to use? Lead Shield is certainly shorter and again keeps the running joke of putting lead on paper as much as possible.
