Just finished a 2hr marathon game with quozl. Azazel went down only taking two spiders and a Marro Warrior with him in the opening, and then two rounds of development let me get Raelin and the spiders into really nice positions. Quozl rushed in Raelin trying to make the most of falling behind on development, and I managed to kill her in one turn. Then it was just trading Queglix gun shots and lightning breaths, which saw Q9 and a revived Azazel go down in exchange for 5 wounds on Quahon. Then I chased rats around the board for about six rounds, and quozl never got another Azazel revive. Gg!

I defeated Foudzing's Microcorp this afternoon and advanced to the single elimination rounds.
This was a tough matchup for Brute Gruts. To try to get something out of them I hid my entire army behind the Fire Isles ruin and loaded my entire first round on the Orcs who rushed far across the board and killed four Troopers before their death. In round 2, I switched to Marro Warriors. Both the Marros and the Microcorp were hot on 2v5s, so I quickly killed three Troopers and Foudzing quickly killed three Marros. I retreated the last Marro behind the wall and started the cloning process.
Foudzing used the empty board to charge Micros forward out of his Raelin's aura and blast my Raelin. He took my Raelin out in four attacks of 3v3. Asterios was my next OM, and he was able to kill a few Troopers in response, but my army was much softer to Micocorp pings without the kyrie. Asterios and the Troopers danced around as Asterios attempted to evade the Heavy Weapons 4v3s that bypassed Legendary Creature while soaking tons of long range 3v6s. Foudzing used my slow dance to safely advance his Raelin and Laglor. Eventually Asterios charged into the horde and took out four or five more troopers before he went down. Q9 came out as Asterios was dying and unloaded a Queglix into Foudzing's Raelin for two wounds.
It was Q9 vs. 3-life Raelin, 7 Troopers, and Laglor. I had Rygarn and 2 Marro Warriors and Isamu in the startzone, but needed some serious work out of Q9 to make this more managable for them. Foudzing won a huge init to get a height volley on Q9. The very first shot on Q9 was three skulls met with a whiff, but 1-life Deathwalker Q9 never failed to block again. Q9 stepped on to level 4 lava, and blasted his way through one Trooper per turn and then Raelin. The first round, Foudzing declined to surround him on lava to retreat his own remaining Troopers. His attacks failed and Q9 stepped off to safety. The second round, Q9 won initiative, climbed back to height, and blew through even more Troopers before dodging the lava wound at the end of the round. Q9 then won the duel with Laglor and Foudzing conceded.
Fun game. Some big mistakes on both our parts like me forgetting the Kelda glyph, but also some really good plays.

I lost against Zackando and am now eliminated. I made some strategic errors - most notably not focusing Heracles down to get the Cathar off the Move +2 glyph - and made a tactical error mid-game in moving a 10th up some to take a greedy shot onto Raelin rather than just Wait-Then-Firing, and it cost me. Good game, Zackando, and good luck in the rest of the tournament!

My old-school rats & Q9 build beat Megasilver's deathchaser build to punch the event's third ticket to the quarterfinals. I managed to hold Yngvild which allowed me to tie things down nicely, and I was able to snuff out MBS and grind through most other threats.
At this point 8 players have been eliminated, 3 have made quarters, and 13 players are still fighting for the last 5 spots in the single elimination rounds. So far Quahon seems to be the queen of the meta, but time will tell if one of those plucky common armies or Q9 builds can upend that.

I defeated Cleon to move on in the Loser's bracket. It was a good game with some early Zelrig/Heracles posturing. I sent Heracles after Zelrig on my OM3 of round 2, and won a critical init the next round to get 4 wounds on big Z. Heracles held out for a few turns after while my 10th snagged LI and kept taking potshots at Axegrinders. Zelrig hit Raelin for 2 wounds before falling, and 10th and Dwarves traded a bit fighting over LI outside my Raelin's aura. With only 6 Dwarves and a wounded Darrak left against my ~9 10th and Raelin/Marcu Cleon got a big 3 10th kill turn, and an init switch to almost kill my Raelin and get me down to 6 10th. On the next turn though my attack dice came back with a vengeance clearing 4 Axegrinders and sealing the win. GG!

Just finished with Earthling, He pulled out the win, the mistake I made was being too confident that a 50/50 would go my way. After I dealt 3 wounds to Hydra with a 7v6 with Quahon, I should have surrounded Hyrda with more Spiders but I opted to engage with 1 in case he had an OM on Cathar. Hydra took the LEA, grabbed kelda and that was the game. GG Earthling! You played well and I'm pleased to be able to pinpoint exactly where I went wrong.

Edit: It was a very short and very swingy game. R1 I moved up 10th a little and took potshots at Spiders, I was also able to grab Yyngvild on my OM2. Ryguy started massing spiders on the lvl2 plateau. My OM3 I developed Heracles onto the lvl 4 hex just within Raelin's Aura. The next round I went all 3 OMs with 10th to try to force Quahon to push forward, and She jumped at the chance to put the hurt on the sleeping Heracles. her first attack was 5/6 skulls, but met with 3/7 shields. With Kelda within Quahon's movement I ignored the dragon and just focused on killing spiders, and was able to kill 5 on the next two turns. Unfortunately for me the Spiders hit an Entangling Web to knock off my OM3 on 10th. Quahon did 2 more wounds to Heracles, and lava did another bringing him up to 5. Huge initiative here, if I win I can hit Quahon once and then burn Kelda with Heracles. Rygy won the initiative, but couldn't touch Heracles. He was able to completely screen off Kelda though with the spiders. Heracles left without much of a choice went for a big swing into Quahon, 6/7 skulls into 1/3 Shields, and then on his Labors turn 3/7 skulls into 1/3 Shields finished off the Queen and Ryguy called it there. GG!

Second game where Quahon has gone down in a single turn, and also my second loss. Hard to play into variance like that, especially with that matchup, that map, and those glyphs. Happy to have made it a game at all.

Second game where Quahon has gone down in a single turn, and also my second loss. Hard to play into variance like that, especially with that matchup, that map, and those glyphs. Happy to have made it a game at all.
