I defeated Quozl's elementals with three Romans and Akumaken remaining. My heroes went down fast as the Romans slowly advanced, but the horde had just enough left in the tank to take down Kurrok, especially since he was cold on summons. Good game.

Had a fun one with shiftrex earlier today.
Shifty did a great job being patient and drawing me out for some ant encounters, but unfortunately he had a couple of 0/4 Burning Breaths and I had some key 2/2 shield blocks by the ants which allowed me to get the ants swarming.
The Brigands and Wannok were able to soften up Raelin and I sniped the Greenscales that floated outside of Raelin's aura before I was able to finish off Raelin.
Moltenclaw darted around, but by the end I was able to spread my units out sufficiently and prevent any multiple attacks. The ants wore him down enough for a Kha double attack to finish him out.
I won with 2 Brigands, 3 ants and 2 wounded heroes left.

Foudzing says his army was supposed to also have a Sahuagin raider. It brings his army to both the point and figure limit, so I'm allowing it. I don't think it will impact the game.

The next round I opened with OM1 on Josie and 2 and 3 on Ants. Josie killed Bol and a slasher. Foudzing rolled Motley into the Fray, killing a couple of ants and one-shotting Eltahale. Soon thereafter he went for Josie, yanking her into a low-ground spot and getting her all the way down to 1-life, but then taking wounds from ants (he hit no engagement strikes all game), who got him down to 1-life as well. J15 moved up and finished off Motley Max, and then I rode the ants for a round, trying to clear off Sidhe. The ants were not very effective, killing only 2 sidhe before they were rendered useless. I dropped a pair of ants back to Valda and then rolled with J15 the rest of the game.
J15 was awesome, getting 6/6 kills on attack vs Sidhe while blocking all of their attacks and taking only 1 wound from Wannok. To end the game he took Wannok, which killed the Sahuagin Raider.

I opened Ants vs his Slashers + Basher. I traded roughly 3 squads of ants for roughly 1.5x squads of Slashers and a wound on the Basher. Then Eltahale rolled out and Thunder Rammed the Basher and 2 Slashers into oblivion.

Had a great game with Backcountry Gamer. He opened with Eldgrim/Incendiborgs/Incendiborgs, while I went with full Nottingham Brigands hoping to clear out 2-3 of the Incendiborgs’ redundancy markers before the Brigands were all destroyed. Unfortunately, they were only able to get rid of a single marker, despite getting multiple height attacks down on the soulborgs. The cutters were able to pick up the slack though and were able to KO the Incendiborgs as well as most of BCG’s dwarves. The last 3 cutters managed to put a couple of wounds on Ulfrid thanks to mob attack before dying, and Breach came in and finished off Ulfrid and the remaining dwarf, only taking a single wound in the process. gg BGC! I was impressed with how you played it considering you mentioned you’d been away from the game for a long time.

I faced a Round 1 Outlaw charge I did not expect with Josie coming at me guns a blazin. She took out 2 ants and 2 Brigands before I knew what hit me.
But I won an incredibly critical Round 2 initiative, allowing Kha to kill full health Josie with the help of 2 poison hits. Instead of Dysole getting 3 attacks of 5/4/3 vs. the 4 Brigands I had left, she lost an order marker allowing me to set up for the round.
That was a killer blow and Dysole made an attempt to take out my brigands but Racheim's attacks were cold against Kha (but hot against ants), but eventually Racheim was wore down. Raelin had fallen to ants while order markers were on Racheim.
A twin attack of 5 eventually fell Racheim and with the Brigands still at large they were able to pick off the Izumi.

Rounds 1 and 2 I went full Eltahale. I killed a rat with a 3/4 Thunder Ram in round 1, then round 2 she managed to put a wound on Raelin via a 1/4 Thunder Ram. Unfortunately viideo had surrounded Raelin with rats so that Eltahale could not Thunder Step to her, so I had her Thunder Step to Q10 instead, planning to disengage and Thunder Ram her way to Raelin after that. Eltahale went 2/6 against Q10 (blocked) and then Q10 managed to get her down to 1 life in a single OM. With 2 OMs left on her she stayed put and went 3/5 (blocked), then survived and Thunder Stepped to end the round and went 2/6 again; Q10 killed her with OM3.
The next round I made the dubious decision of going with Josie, who ultimately did nothing and was killed before the round ended.
Over the course of the next several rounds I gradually moved J15 towards Zawit while my ants begin to mass on my side of the board (viideo declined to leave his screen while I slow-rolled). I made a critical mistake, miscalculating J15's ability to get to Zawit (I forgot that he would have to stop his movement as soon as the lead foot hit the glyph, and so he didn't have enough move to get onto it). I had to delay J15 Zawitting by another round, which was critical because I got the initiative switch following the mistake round, which left J15 sitting on Zawit during viideo's OM3 with Q10, where he put a wound on J15. I kept initiative the next round and managed to put some more wounds on Raelin, but an 0/5 defense roll on J15 stole my OM3.
This was a great matchup for viideo, and he played it well. I really needed the dice to swing my way at a few key times in order to pull this match out, and they mostly did the opposite. My dice were quite bad, and badly distributed to boot.
viideosayg played a pretty flawless game. He set up his rats where Raelin could cover them from the start zone, then camped Q10 behind them and picked off my ants as they came along. That was the story of most of the rounds of the game; I'll describe the exceptions below.

Just played an excellent game against Chris Perkins! My Venocs opened the game by getting two frenzies and killing four of Chris' Venocs, Zetacron, and a Teeth before perishing. Ideally, my Mohicans would have followed that great performance up by killing a lot of Vipers. They did not. Well played, and good luck in your future matches!

My Romans and their demon Samurai companion defeated dok's Specters/Racheim/Marro Warriors/Marcu. Akumaken's Mask of Terror is very powerful against the Specters, forcing 1v3 Counter Strike attacks, and that defined how we both played the game. I wanted to kill dok's other pieces before cleanup so that they could not kill Akumaken, and dok wanted to stop me from doing that.
dok opened Marro Warriors to contest Zawit and spread me out over the board, but they only killed two Romans. With control of the board and protection from Romans, my Me-Burq-Sa launched a series of pings on to Racheim as Specters advanced. On his last shot before being caught and killed, he rolled 4/4 skulls to kill Racheim. Specters took over the board, and Azurite and the remaining Romans desperately charged the start zone to throw attacks at Marcu but couldn't reach him. Then it was Akumaken vs. twelve Specters and Marcu in a many round dance. Marcu got one wound and then was caught and killed. The Specters and Akumaken danced for initiative switch for a long time, with Akumaken picking at the edges until she was eventually pinned for one Specter 2v3 height attack per turn. But that Specter height attack never succeeded over five tries, while Akumaken slowly but steadily killed every Specter. Good game.

I wanted to kill dok's other pieces before cleanup so that they could not kill Akumaken, and dok wanted to stop me from doing that.
dok opened Marro Warriors to contest Zawit and spread me out over the board, but they only killed two Romans. With control of the board and protection from Romans, my Me-Burq-Sa launched a series of pings on to Racheim as Specters advanced. On his last shot before being caught and killed, he rolled 4/4 skulls to kill Racheim. Specters took over the board, and Azurite and the remaining Romans desperately charged the start zone to throw attacks at Marcu but couldn't reach him. Then it was Akumaken vs. twelve Specters and Marcu in a many round dance. Marcu got one wound and then was caught and killed. The Specters and Akumaken danced for initiative switch for a long time, with Akumaken picking at the edges until she was eventually pinned for one Specter 2v3 height attack per turn. But that Specter height attack never succeeded over five tries, while Akumaken slowly but steadily killed every Specter. Good game.

Probably a lot could be said about the strategy approach, positioning, and placement on this one, but I think noone wants to read that essay
So I'll keep it short...
Viideosayg and I spent the entire first two round positioning 3 letter small sized vermin and kyrie cheerleaders (one red and one blue) before letting loose in Round 3.
I was the one who threw the bigger dice and my 5 attack Kha/Brigands were able to kill the 7 defense Q10 (in only 3 attacks of 5v7 + 1 poison) before he could take down anything but 3 ants and a hit on Taelord.

I defeated Og-Blaha's Warden/Tomb Skeletons/Drow/Crypt Guardian army and advanced my Romans to the playoffs. This was a game that was turned by Dagmar. Using opening initiative, Tomb Skeletons put the pressure on early, trading almost evenly for Romans and putting me under a lot of pressure, netting 6 wounds on the Azurite. In Round 3, I staged an initiative switch play with Dagmar and blew up the Tomb Skeletons, and they only got off a couple more attacks. The game was close between Romans and the remaining Guard forces.
In Round 4, the Crypt Guardians and Chainfighters came out. MBS quickly paralyzed one Crypt Guardian which netted me an order marker. In Round 4, a Roman landed a 4/4 blow to take down another Crypt and steal another order marker. Shortly after, MBS landed a few shots on Warden to take him out, and that basically sealed it. The remaining forces were too thinly spread to take out MBS and the remaining few Romans. Close game to start, but dice fell apart at the end.
