Early heads up! The next event will be Sunday, December 3rd 12 - 5 PM.

This will be an Open Play event at Atomic Empire in Durham. More info to come soon!

I'm up for this! Would like just a little bit of structure though. As simple as an army point value would be enough. Else it's really hard to choose what units to bring.

I'll let @Major Q23 speak to it more but I think 500 pts 18 figure armies were being discussed.

I recommend showing up with a 500-point, 18-figure army to play! That way, it's easy to pair up with someone for a game without litigating armies.

I am also working on and will bring a couple of preset matchups that people can play if they like.

Great! Classic points (not delta), I assume? I'll bring a couple-few armies to play and share. Looking forward to seeing folks and playing some games.

Correct: I recommend bringing a 500 (non-delta) point, 18-figure, classic army. If people want to bring VC units, play variants such as Heat of the Battle/Kill The King, or play games that aren't 500 pt army vs 500 pt army, that's cool too!

Just found this thread. I'm out in Charlotte and getting back into Heroscape. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys down the road!

@Hogg do you think it is worth updating the first post with updated info now that we are getting the scene back up and going here in the Raleigh/Durham area?

Or perhaps a new roll call post?

Maybe a whole new thread? I can do whatever we think is best. I'll put something in the OP in the meantime.

Is anyone in the Ral-Dur-ChapHill area playing on a regular basis, perhaps at a store or someone's home? I have 2-3 other people in my board game group that may be interested in playing and would like to branch outside just us. If there isn't, Atomic seems like a reasonable place to meet. Alternatively, I have space to fit at least a half dozen people and enough terrain to have build and store multiple maps.

Yes, I've seen/heard about the tournaments (sadly, afterwards) but we're mainly looking for casual games to get back into things. I'm not against competitive play, but I'm doubtful I'll feel ready for that in 4 weeks.

Its pretty friendly competition and there have been beginners at previous ones, We'd love to have you. I'm still brushing the dust off, myself.

Gamer's Armory in Cary, NC had a sign on their door that preorders for the first three boxes of the new version of Heroscape need to be in by April 15th. So if anyone here was thinking of getting some of the stuff through them you should go ahead and do so.

The guy behind the counter also told me that he has had at least one person asking when they would be doing demos/tournaments at the store. He told the person that they did not have any product to allow them to do that. This was met with a response of "Well they are doing tournaments at Atomic Empire." I told the store clerk that yes Heroscape tournaments are taking place at Atomic Empire, but that was being done by people who had held onto their collection for 10+ years. Atomic Empire was not providing any of the terrain or figures.

Hi, just getting back into this game and I was wondering if anyone plays around the Charlotte area?

Not sure, but you've got a highly active group that plays out in Durham...just a quick 2hr drive from you! They're holding a tournament in fact and you should totally attend on March 30th!

It's at atomic Empire

3400 Westgate Dr #14b, Durham, NC 27707

Here's the tournament page with all the details: https://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=63511

@Major Q23 handles all the logistics...so I'll tag him here to get you acquainted and setup for success :)

I love what we have going at AE, but is a long haul for me. Im concerned about being able to make all the events once Organized Play starts up. If you are interested I'd be up for seeing if we can get GA interested in organized play for the new stuff too

I did see this earlier in the thread, I was hoping for something a bit more closer when organized play kicks up.
