(Edit): :coffee: Don't be discouraged by some of the goofy posts above!

The welll known Gang of Four is looking for new Heroscape members here in NYC, as two of us have been intermittently unavailable. All of us are familiar long term site members (the others are Taeblewalker and Sherman Davies). Lately we've been meeting monthly on Kolakoski's Secret Island Base (technically just off Manhattan Island). If you are interested these days, PM him or me.

Well met!

We normally play on large maps with scenarios/back stories and special rules. Some examples:

When I fight in Delta+, it just feels right!

;) Just an update that we're still playing monthly, and always welcome new players. PM any of us for details! We also travel out occasionally to Hicksville, Nassau County to play with the LI Heroscapers (Griznakh) on their monthly dates.

Time to bump the thread! (Or maybe its just time to make the doughnuts).

Here in Manhattan and Brooklyn lately we've been mixing Classic/VC Scape with Super Scape. We take turns being Game Master and there are almost no boundaries on what we will try next. In September we will be combining with the LI Heroscapers to mount some Lord of the Rings Scape out in Nassau County.

Some of us also meet occasionally to play other board games: lately including Firefly The Game, Cyclades, Kemet, Memoir 44, Empires of the Void, Fire and Axe, Star Trek Fleet Captains, Conquest of Planet Earth, and many others.

New York City Gang of Four: Update and Invitation

Welcome. If you're living or traveling in the metropolitan area, we invite you to come learn or play Heroscape/Superscape/Other Board Games with us. We're also around to answer questions and help out in any way we can. Post here or Private Message Chas, Sherman Davies, Kolakoski or Taeblewalker!

With so many away at GenCon this weekend, its a quiet moment to update our usual invitation to anyone in the NYC area to come play Heroscape with us. The New York City Gang of Four, made up of local guys who have been Scaping since the beginning.

We meet monthly to do almost every variation on Heroscape you can imagine, from Classic to Customs to SuperheroScape, on huge maps with custom scenarios as we rotate serving as Game Master.

We now have our own thread discussing our latest adventures in the General Discussion Section, if you want to see what we've been up to lately!

Hey chas, I've also been playing since the beginning, and got a few friends into it as well. I've had some lengthy lapses in between, but I've been trying to get back in to 'scape lately. If you'd still welcome a few fresh faces for a game, we'd be happy to play with you guys!

Dartheyegouger,

I've replied to this on a PM with my contact info. I also sent a second PM message with a link to our thread and the scenario we're playing on Wednesday afternoon. Hope we can talk soon about getting together.

 The appearance of a new local scaper who just visited us for the first time and had a blast, reminded me to bump the thread up. Everyone is welcome to the monthly sessions of The New York City Gang of Four at my place that have been going on now for more than 10 years. Just hit my new signature thread below to see what we're up to these days!

We play team games and free for alls on a giant 20 x30 hex map, although lately we've been practicing our tournament game for the upcoming annual Islandscape event (yes, see Events in Heroscape Community).

Besides regular Scape, we play with customs, and have recently done Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Game of Thrones and Super Scape (recently Avengers Infinity War). We rotate being Game Master and providing custom scenarios and maps.

Feel free to contact me here or by Private Message with any questions and my contact info. I also run other board games and miniatures games here every week attended by many other players. Other Heroscape regulars include Sherman Davies, Taeblewalker, and Kolakoski, whose postings on many topics are spread all over this site.

Over the years, the New York City Gang of Four has experimented with the many types of additions and modifications you can make to the flexible Heroscape system. This has included the latest C3G and C3V and other customs, special terrain such as a couple of buildings I brought back from Japan last year, a board in the shape of a pirate ship or a space ship, an active volcano, and much, much more.

Besides our own thread, you can see even more on Kolokoski's Blog, Sherman Davies custom threads, Tabeblewalkers' maps, and many more places. Our basic rule is 'Anything Goes' to keep the game fresh and fun. But you can pop over for a good old game of Classic Scape too, or try combining it with Magic the Gathering: Arena of the Plainswalkers.

Whether you're a new player, returning to the fold, or would like to try out your own way out ideas, you can come join our adventures in the many worlds of Heroscape!

 Due to personal schedule changes, we are now for the first time ever moving our monthly Wednesday games to monthly Saturdays. So if you are in or near NYC, just check out our latest date at the end of our thread in my signature line below, and come join us!

2023 Update

There are five of us now, Scaping at least monthly as usual. We've been playing with the Age of Annihilation stuff too; see our thread in my signature line down below for our adventures, with photos and commentary, etc. I did an AOA Revival Project since the Haslab offering failed, and now we hear that Heroscape and AOA will be back next year. But we've already integrated it into our regular games, thanks to the many cards by Anitar and some work by myself on a few missing rules and etc.

Visitors and new Scapers are always welcome!
