(Putting this here because I'll forget otherwise)
Kurogiri mod tutorial:
Start with Red Hood #017 from the Joker's Wild set. Mine was the sketch variant but you'll be repainting so it doesn't matter.
This step is for making All For One's head - if you're just interested in Kurogiri, skip to the next step. Cut the cape off. You can just bend the cape up after soaking it in some hot water, then clip it off with nail clippers. Leave a little of the cape there to represent the tubes on All For One's costume.
Twist off Red Hood's head (that little piece of cape leftover will come along). Cut off his gun as well.
Now take Helspont #042 from the Superman: Legion of Super Heroes set. Cut off Helspont's head, making sure to include the gold collar. Again soaking the mini in hot water makes this much easier. (Ignore Bruce Wayne in that pic, that's also for All For One.)
Glue Helspont's head to Red Hood's body.
Paint time!
- White for the undershirt
- Brown for the shoes
- Grey for the vest
- Darker Grey for the tie and vest buttons
- Silver for the collar
- Purple for the outside of the head (water it down thoroughly and you can maintain a little translucency)
- Black for the pants, inner head, and hands. Take a look at a pic of Kurogiri from the anime and you'll notice the black on his head is more diamond-shaped then it's surrounded by the purple flames/clouds. Try to replicate that as best you can, following the contours of the mini to look like flames/clouds.
- Paint a little strip of purple around the wrists where they meet the sleeves.
- Bright Yellow for the eyes. I painted the eye indents yellow then added some lines going up from the lateral edges of the eyes. Then after that dries, make it thinner and clean your linework with black paint.
