Lord Hierarch - 3D Printed Custom Figures - X/XX - WIP Mariedian/Warforged Snipers

WYIxCJ9.jpg
And we are back!

Capture.PNG
This model.

Some changes, still no playtest.

Bumped them up to 3. Seems most Commons are 3-4. Probably up the price to 60/75.

Changed Bull Charge a bit. Pieced it together from Gary's HS Site. What a godsend it is!

Beastmen is still a placeholder. But might make for its own interesting synergy.

HiItcPm.jpeg

The lore of these guys is the evil necromancer plucked their dying selves from Istvaan and other horrible sites and ensared them to fight for her. So they're unwilling pawns whose superhuman bodies and minds are actively resisting their master. Thus, Tormented and their 2nd Special Attack.

And now with some revision:

heroscape_custom___unique_squad___lunar_wolves_by_lord_hierarch_djjtnjd-fullview.jpg

Yes, the MRK is wrong, but its cooler looking.

Some of the changes made to reflect @Timerron's Space Marine Customs.

The difference in stats, IMO, reflects the difference in tech and time of summoning. I could make the stats closer to his stats, but eeeh. Variety in flavor :p.

Nice, but yeah variety is good. If I would change anything, the wording might be better if it was "gains 1 attack dice against non-humans"
Will do.

Next WIP: The Arbiter's.

uyqu1mO.png

Based the stats of Kyrie the Warrior.
The Arbiter, Ripa 'Moram'ee is supposed to be Unique. Oops.
To explain some of the technicals:

The Arbiter Ripa is still in service to the Covenant, so Zealot and Devout. Faithful would also fit.

Medium 5 is because the fig is about the same size as Marro Warlord, but they're leaning. Probably could be Medium 6, IDK. How do we judge sizes? From the model, or how tall they ought to be?

The Arbiter Thel is a major post-schism warlord after rebelling against the Covenant and killing its last leader. As the Arbiter, he is a symbol of inspiration and shame for his people and other Covenant factions. Thus Warlord and Inspiring.

Their stats are the same, except for ATK. Why? Because The Arbiter Ripa is a more ruthless warrior, so that's reflected there.

As for powers, The Arbiter Ripa is based off their Halo Wars powers. They're placeholders, but I'd like to reflect them in the game if possible.

Both have Phantom Walk as a reference to their suit's Active Camo.

Been browsing the customs for figs, and I found some more interesting Soulborg.

The Golden Centurion's. Gundamn Mini's.

Don't got them, but I do have Thingiverse and I found a new models that fit. Will have to reprint when my PLA gets here. ITS BEEN A WEEK!!!!

What makes this interesting to me is they were already playtested, and had some refinement.

Stil haven't painted any new figs. Been busy.

Q - is the scale of the figure appropriate?

Mechs.PNG

I printed as is since both are ~55mm tip to top, but I realize that because of the angle of the cannon. Take that away and the Mech is ~40mm. Should I resize based on that? To the DW9K's height?

Or is the scale difference fine?

And now more WIP's:

mxFm1oz.png

The Grunts! Everyone's favorite Unggoy.
The abilities/attacks are WIP. They're just copy-paste.

Base Grunt I want to be cheap and barely worth their cost.

Heavy Grunt got RPG's, basically. I should drop their health to 1 because while they're tougher than Grunts, I mean, they're still Grunts. Ya' know? But better range and attack, and I think should replace with DW9K's Special Attack "Range 7. Attack 3. Choose a figure to attack. Any figures adjacent to the chosen figure are also affected by the Explosion Special Attack. Deathwalker only needs a clear sight shot at the chosen figure. Roll 3 attack dice once for all affected figures. Each figure rolls defense dice separately. Deathwalker can be affected by his own Explosion Special Attack."

Suicide Grunts, are Grunts, but suicide. Actually I think I bumped the Base Grunts a bit to make these Grunts cheap and worthless, except as suicide chargers.

Critique for this and preeceding units appreciated.

Change size to MEDIUM 6.

And now, the prototypes. Using Flash Conqueror STL.

Decided against the 2nd Ability. Might reuse for another Astartes figure.
Again, a reuse of the +1 to attack ability, but its a simple and easy ability.

This time, no need to stay together, the Thunder Warriors are independent men and don't need no battle brothers!

Decided to make their Range and DEF lower to reflect the older and inferior tech of their times. Compensated with a higher ATK.

Based the height of this thread on sizes. While imperfect, it does work well for a general rule of thumb, IMO.

Price might be bit low, but its a start, IMO. Lower than the Lunar Wolves, but also there's only 2 compared to 4.

EDIT: Thinking of dropping the WAIT THEN FIRE for something to do with that Power Claw (?). RANGE 1. ATTACK 9. IDK. Maybe a reskin of VYDARR'S HAMMER.

Since being summoned to Vahalla to fight in the greatest battle of all time, the Desert Rangers have proven their valor and bravery against the mad Archkyrie and his myriad of mad minions. But in this recent mission... they might've bit off more than than they could chew.

ZiKMVFV.jpeg

A troop of Thunder Warriors and their Centurion.
NCR's gonna wish for a nuclear winter.

Interesting thing on the Proto-Astartes paint job. The 2 on the left were painted first, with a base layer brown then yellow/sort of goldish color-mix atop. Apple Barrel plants. Red was justart red marker.

The far right was painted yellow marker, then I taped the red bits and sprayed the armor over with gold primer.

The middle 2 were sprayed with white/black primer, then the gold primer on top. The crestless one I dabbed some marker gold/dark yellow on it.

Really nice how they came out, IMO. Compare to my original.

Some mods to the Minotaur Figure.

1L 4M 1R 3A 2D 50 Points

EINAR WARLORD BONDING

Planned Figures:

ZGCemUT.png

Lynel's and Demon King Ganon.

Both are Huge 11.

The Armored Lynel and Ganon were scaled up 200%.

Ganon ought to be slightly larger, probably Huge 12, but I can't find an meaningful difference between Zelrig and Nilfheim to care.

Ganon fits on the base perfectly, but the Lynel's are a bit more tricky, in particular the half-naked one. I might need to print a rock for his legs to stand on, at least one.

I am understanding what a grey pile of shame is. In my case, its black filament. And I got too many figures and terrain piling up XD XD.
EDIT: For Sources, I refer to this thread for Ganon.

I will drop Ganon down from Huge 11 to Huge 8. So smaller than the Lynel's.

Lynel height comes from the wiki. 13-15 feet.

You have been producing a lot of stuff! These are pretty neat.
The pile grows and I have no one to play with, or the time to play with a local group XD.

Given these are free models found online, I'm hoping others can play them with the numbers/cards I provide XD XD.

Freedom to the masses! #Utgarwasright!

I've decided to playtest.

300 pts, cause I'm soloing this and I don't know what I'm doing. Thematic armies for the moment.

Orc:
  • Tornak (proxy) - 100.
  • Swog Rider (proxy) 25.
  • Blade Gruts - 80.
  • Arrow Gruts - 80.
TOTAL: 285.

Zettian:
  • Deathwalker 900 - 140.
  • Zettian Infantry x2 - 130.
TOTAL: 270.

Could fill them out. But I won't. Its a start!

Will test out against my Minoan Hoplites. Am planning on adding some modded figures to the line up, so its not all 1 figure. Given how many I have of them, I can make a 300 pt army out of these guys alone XD XD. So I've decided to throw them for C3V when I get them printed. And tested.

Will start printing in a day. Have to wait for the Lynel's to finish.

Am thinking of....
  • Marcus Decimus Gallus - 100.
  • Minoan Hoplites x2 - 100.
  • Roman Legionnaires (Triarii?) x2 - 100.
TOTAL: 300.

Might knock two birds with one stone? Don't have Legionnaires, but I got my Triarii. They're close enough, IMO.

Don't got a Marcus Gallus, but I'm sure I can find a figure to proxy XD.

Been dumping, sorry folks.

But I finished one more. Well, almost.

BLL6Qq8.jpeg

I will have these as... a Common Squad.

NAME: Buffalo Rider.
GENERAL: Jandar.

SPECIES: Minotaurus.
TYPE: Common Squad.
CLASS: Hunter.
PERSONALITY: Fierce.
SIZE: Large 6.

LIFE: 1 HP.
MOVE: 7 spaces.
RANGE: 1 spaces.
ATTACK: 3 dice.
DEFENSE: 3 dice.
COST: 100 points.

SPECIAL POWER: Hunter Melee Attack Enhancement.
  • All friendly Hunters adjacent to a Buffalo Rider receive an additional attack die when attacking a figure adjacent to them.

SPECIAL POWER: Tough.
  • When rolling defense dice against a normal attack, a Buffalo Rider always adds 1 automatic shield to whatever is rolled.

Its a WIP.

Just copied Brave Arrow and Tough. The Hunter is because its a melee unit - the claws - and Tough cause... its a Buffalo. Thick skin. Thick hide.

A 3rd power would probably have to do a charge. Maybe copy/paste the Zettian Targeting or something.

Found a bunch of monster figures. Decided to see how'd they look.

Then I wanted to see what a big guy would look like.

LeqdU3T.png

I don't think the big one will make the cut XD.

This isn't worthy of its own map thread, its just a rough concept. It lacks details like hills and stuff. And I don't even have any idea of balance or what not.
FBcds9d.png

Another powerpoint map!
This time just used Manoftingblog's map scan.

This one ripped off Kings Landing map:

BW08-board.png

The would of course be modifications. Reduce the wood line, and the river too. Add little 'floating isles' the river to add as hopping to reflect the burning royal fleet.

The ruins would be the ruin walls, probably have a glyph in each or some such.

Unit values would probably be 2v1 in favor of the attacker.

The urban sprawl could be ruin walls too, or something else IDK.

Used MacDirk Warriors as the basis.

Disnegage is a kind of funny reference to their in-story unreliability during the siege XD XD.

Might up the points.

Figures are:

And through the smoke another wedge of armored riders came, on barded horses. Floating above them were the largest banners yet, royal standards as big as sheets; a yellow one with long pointed tongues that showed a flaming heart, and another like a sheet of beaten gold, with a black stag prancing and rippling in the wind. Robert, Jon thought for one mad moment, remembering poor Owen, but when the trumpets blew again and the knights charged, the name they cried was "Stannis! Stannis! STANNIS!"

Spoiler Alert!

The Dragonstone Knights are just recolored Templar Knights so same army card. Excerpt I sliced on a House Stannis sigil onto the shield, but that could just be painted on :p.

King Stannis is a Sir Dupis fig, I sliced the head off for a helmet and horns. The sword I sliced off the whole arm cause I didn't like the sword. I realize now I could've probably just done the sword but oh well XD.

As usual, if you want to 3D Print it yourself, PM me. I'll share the files!

The stuff I finally got around to painting last night. Slept this morning, woke up 3 hours later, have been running on coffee and a white claw. Slept an hour in the car, but I feel great!

So. First off. Terrain.

We have another obelisk (the tormentor), and one of those MTG things. Engineers of Vahalla, look it up. Also a tree on a hex. And a Wildling banner for the Westeros mini game, but I'm just going to use for terrain.

And most importantly, a Stannis banner. You have NO FUCKING IDEA how hard it was to find the burning heart and stag cause I couldn't find a good Stannis Baratheon sigil. The fuck, people.

Then we have an EXE.616. I wanted a Diablo Red variant I remember seeing, but uh, I misremembered it XD XD.

Then 2 Venoc Warlords. One Silver, One Gold. All sexy. Messed up their mouths which you can't see, but I just made it look like a mask. Allagedly.

Then Slorm, the Goblin Archer. Couldn't do it Small 3, so I kept it its OG size and it will be Small 4. I don't think it makes much of a difference, and it kind of hits as he's a Goblin Hero. They're larger than life! Kudos to @ Arch-Vile.

Achilles. Of Troy's fame. I love him. Great movie. Using @ Yagyuninja's card but adding Killercctus little add-on:
Achilles' Heel
Achilles may only be destroyed by receiving wounds from opponent's figures. When Achilles receives a wound from an opponent's figure, your opponent must roll the 20-sided die. If they do not roll an 18 or higher, Achilles ignores all wounds he just received.

Also Golem. Its for my nephew. But I guess I have him Self-Destruct.

And my final color of the week - Jaime Lannister. Originally a different fig, I decided to use SIR DERRICK with a modded breastplate merged on top. Detail didn't come out quite well - in particular the Lannister Lion, but I think the color comes out well to showcase who he is meant to be. Sword is a little darker than the armor cause its Valyrian steel, and the gold hilt/hand is a reference to Jaime having only one hand on account it got chopped off.

Also, B2-Legions/Zettian Infantry.

I did not check the scale before hand XD.

Rd6mhm9.jpeg

Surprise Surprise. Found 2 Sith Troopers WOTC - the old silver dudes - in my nephew's toy chest. Been cleaning out their toy room, picking out stuff to use for terrain. Dunno where they got found these XD XD.

So, Silver dudes.

Current thought is Soulborg, Vydar. Two in a squad, Unique, got pretty long rifles, so I'm thinking support/rear. Sniper ranged archer. Maybe just a Zettian Guard reskin.

Or a Special Attack, a unique or common hero that is attacked by the trooper rolls a die. If its like 16, and that hero has an order marker on it, skip its turn.

Or maybe Warforged, Soldiers.

Roughed Stats:
Class: Sniper.
Personality: Precise.
Size: Medium 5.
Squad Size: 2.

Life: 1.
Move: 5
Range: 8.
Attack: 2
Defense: 3
Points: 80.

Kneecap Shot Special Attack: Choose a Unique or Common Hero figure to attack. the defender rolls a 20-sided die. If they roll a 16, roll defense die as normal. If they do not, remove any order marker's on it for the duration of the turn.

Crippling Shot: After moving, you may choose a "Hero" figure/Soulborg figure and roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 14 or higher, all order marker's must be removed from its Army Card.
